Sangheili (Elites) In New Trilogy Matchmaking (Part 1)

Wow. This is an old forum.

One day, eventually this may be reality. But until then this Immortal thread will continue its quest.

I am sure a variation of this has been submitted but I cannot bring myself to go through 577 pages to find it.

Warzone Invasion
-Works just like Reach Invasion in that Spartans are assaulting an Elite held base and have to take it over (essentially Warzone Assault).
-Where this would be different is obviously Elites would have larger hitboxes. They are just bigger in general and creating the hunched, Spartan size hitbox would be silly.
-How Elites would differ than Spartans:
-Stronger Shields
-Evade rather than thrusters (Elites could essentially roll in any direction and would function similar to Spartan charge only less graceful)
-No Hover (They are too heavy to hover!)
-Higher jump capability (While still being able to clamber)

Already we have an imbalance with gameplay based on these changes. However, there is supposed to be an imbalance here. Elites are not Spartans! Obviously this would need testing but I would propose that Spartans would have to outnumber the Elites. Perhaps a 14 vs 10. What is driving this is the stronger shields which means longer life which means more difficult to take down. Teams would be chosen at random similar to the start of an infection game.

The next issue would be loadouts. Ideally I would like to see Elite loadouts consisting of Covenant weapons. Storm rifle and plasma pistol to start with upgrades to carbines and maybe needle rifles (yes I know the new carbine works that way but would be nice to have that in there). In turn I would like to see the Spartans only have access to human loadouts. Both sides would have access to Forerunner weapons but vehicles would be restricted to faction (this means a human answer to the banshee!). I know once the game starts going and people start dying that Elites will pick up human weapons and vise versa but the immersion of the faction is what I am going for here.

That is how I would like to see playable Elites added.

Things that would spawn from this would include REQ Elite cosmetic items (think combat harnesses, stances, assassinations).

Also could spawn new arena playlists where your Elites only.

So that is what I would like to see. Let me know your thoughts or take what I have and alter it! Happy Haloing!

(Warzone: Invasion anybody?).

Did somebody say invasion? If that ever happens I might just have to start playing xbox again.

Wort Wort Wort! I would like to hear that in the Elite Chatter!

It will be so cool to fight against Covenant Elites instead of brothers Spartans!
343 I believe in you!!!

Do you miss playing as Elites in Halo especially from Halo 2 to Reach. We are starting a Community hoping to make 343 realize that Elites are a necessity to Halo not some NPC. If you want your voice heard, Join us my Brothers & Sisters. Message me back XenoMorph37 or KogaGmente IIIGuys, me and several friends are banding together to finally start a movement to push 343 to bring elites back. I’ve met so many people willing to tell 343 to bring Elites back! If you wish to have elites back, let your voice be herd.To show support spread the word, Set your service tag on Halo 5 to HOAH (Which means Save) , ANd optional for you to join our spartan company~~https://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/spartan-companies/hoah%20sangheiliI will be keeping an open eye out for those who want to join this cause. Comment below if you have questions one various of things. I’ve been asked on several things such as how can elites compare to Spartan Abilities, for those in doubt I will answer, I am only but a voice. It’s time for Us sangheili to band, just like the SWORDS OF SANGHEILIO’S

1 its still going because the mods allow it too and they direct you to this thread if you wanna talk elites
2 its in the halo 5 forums now because they moved it from the halo 4 forums to the halo 5 forums

> Anyway, with all of these months going by, there has to be SOME people working on makes Elites playable in Halo 5’s multiplayer. They have the time and resources to do it now and while I do agree that adding the Halo One Pistol was great, I think adding playable Elites is more important.

> With the Memories of Reach update coming in between late April to late May, we might be able to not only expect playable Elites in Warzone and maybe Social Arena Playlists, but maybe even the return of the Invasion game mode from Halo: Reach as well (Warzone: Invasion anybody?). Ladies and gentlemen, we may only have to wait a couple of months for playable Elites, then the 4 year wait will FINALLY be over!

I’ve been trying to say that the whole time! regardless, I do not know if they will even get added.

In regards to weapons with the new tweaks, the Storm Rifle is already superior to the AR. As to make up for it, the could, oh you know, take the old Plasma Rifle and make the actual counter part of the AR? Because a rifle is a rifle.

As for secondary, the Plasma Repeater could come back as more of a equivalent to the SMG. Think about it. It’s firing speed at the early seconds matches the smg and to make up for its lowering speed, it can like it used to be in the Reach beta, its damage increases, keeps the gun stable.

I’d love to see their halo 4 concussion rifle back, plus a couple of new covie guns to be honest.
Cheers.

Anyone else hoping to see an elite model show up in one of the future updates?

Be elites I dont care they’re easy kills,

We damn better! This (technically) is racism! Elites have the same rights as Spartans, god -Yoink!-! They’re people too!
Down with human-supremacism!
If the Swords of Sanghelios allow female warriors to join their ranks for the first time why cant we allow for the Elites to join the UNSC? Because they’re non-human? First they are ENSLAVED by the Covenant and now they don’t have the same right to fight with us or at least make use of the War Games simulations!?
As I go on this is starting to seem oddly familiar to a certain set of events starting with a boycott… LET US NOT HARM ELITES IN WARZONE, CAMPAIGN OR EVEN IN IMAGINATION! CIVIL RIGHTS FOR ALL!!!

“I have a dream… that one day both man and elite can fight, side by side, against the Covenant and any other threats to the peace between them!”

I think I’m going over the top with this here.
Just add playable Elites. Custom abilities ect. not required. Both phenotypes are not required. WE JUST WANT TO PLAY AS ELITES. HEAR OUR DEMANDS 343i! HEAR US!

EpicCreeper HD speak loud and proud brother!

This is a re-written speech from one of the greatest American heroes of all time. This is a rewrite of Martin Luther King Jr’s “I Have A Dream”

I have a dream that one day this franchise will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that both Man and Sangheili are created equal.”

I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Blood Gulch, both Spartans and Elites will work together to defend their flag in brotherhood.

I have a dream that one day even Halo 5, a game with an over-emphasis on Spartans will be updated to allow playable Elites.

I have a dream that my future children will one day grow up with this franchise where they will not be judged by the preference of their species, but by the content of their character.

I have a dream today!

I have a dream that one day, down in Matchmaking, with its vicious racists and prejudice players – one day, the Sangheili will be able to join hands with humanity as sisters and brothers.

I have a dream today!

I have a dream that one day every Halo player will have a choice, and every player will be able to choose to play as a Spartan, and every player will be able to choose to play as an Elite. Halo’s community will be made whole once again and the use of only Spartans in multiplayer will be no more.

This is our hope, and this is the faith that I go back to Sanghelios with.

With this faith, we will be able to hew out of the mountain of despair a stone of hope. With this faith, we will be able to transform the jangling discords of our Franchise into a beautiful symphony of brotherhood. With this faith, we will be able to work together, to play together, to struggle together, to die and respawn together, to stand up for freedom together, knowing that we will be free once again.

And this will be the day – this will be the day when all of Halo’s children will be able to sing with new meaning:

“From the blood of our fathers, from the blood, of our sons”

From every mountainside, let freedom ring!

And if Halo is to truly be a great franchise once again, this must become true.

And so let freedom ring from the prodigious hills of Sanghelios.

Let freedom ring from the mighty mountains of The Ark.

Let freedom ring from the sky’s of Halo.

Let freedom ring from the glassed planet of Reach.

Let freedom ring from what remains of High Charity.

But not only that:

Let freedom ring from the city of New Mombasa.

Let freedom ring from the classic Lockout map.

Let freedom ring from the Arbiter’s keep on Sanghelios.

From every mountainside, let freedom ring.

And when this happens, and when we allow freedom ring, when we let it ring from every planet and every solar system, from every Sangheili state and every human city, we will be able to speed up that day when all of Halo’s children, Spartans and Elites, will be able to join hands and sing:

Free at last! Free at last!

Thank God Almighty, we are free at last!

Spoken like true martyrs Elite Creeper and RZI Salutes

“Choice, freedom of speech, equality, innocence till proven guilty, these are your rights, no one should be able to take them from you! Stand up! We don’t have to live under these false pretences!”- Thora 'Marumee

Wow. So this is what happened when 343i took over. It’s a shame Bungie left the Halo franchise. It’s hard to imagine how Halo 4 and 5 would be if it was developed by Bungie.

I (somewhat) understand your desire to play as Elites in a new/current Halo game, but can we please stop with the comparisons to serious issues regarding prejudice towards specific groups? Honestly, you’re comparing a cosmetic option in a video game to conflicts that people lost their lives in…

Its already been explained that time, or the lack thereof, was the primary reason Elites aren’t playable. Elites in War Games simulations is sound as far as lore goes.

Keep in mind that to reintroduce playable Elites, much work would need to be done:

  • Arrange a 1st person POV on the existing Elite model (or create one from scratch for multiplayer) - Create 1st- and 3rd-person animations for all base actions e.g. sprinting, thrusting, clambering, sliding, throwing grenades, etc. - Create 1st- and 3rd-person animations for equipping, zooming, firing, and reloading/cooling each and every weapon available in the MP sandbox.* - Create a HUD for the Sangheili perspective, not to mention tweaking existing overlays for when zooming with various weapons. - Code all models, animations, HUD, and overlays to work without issue.* Note for #3: Third-person equipping and firing animations would already exist for some weapons, but AI-controlled Elites don’t reload. All would require first-person animations.

Despite all of the work outlined above, that doesn’t even account for additional armor/animations for assassinations. Even more animations would have to be made just for the different combinations between Spartans and Elites… especially when you consider all the options available through REQs.
