if 343i can find a fix to the ALTERED HITBOXES then fine, but because the elites are a different player model, i seriously don’t see them being able to find a fair fix to this.
and for everyone complaining that halo is too catered to competition - the multiplayer experience and rank system in arena is COMPLETELY based on winning or losing - IE skill based competition.

Obviously you guys haven’t read any of the other comments. Though, I know it’s way too much to go through so I get where you are coming from. I will enlighten you. Most of us here want the Sangheili hit-boxes to be much larger because we want them to be completely different models with different attributes, not just a skin. Most of the comments say that we want them implemented into unranked playlists and customs, not competitive lists because it would throw off balance for those who are worried about rank. We just want our old friends to be featured in the newest titles. We have become very attached to them and I don’t think we will let go of them any time soon.

Ok so let’s just start with your last comment. Explain why I can play 10 matches in doubles with my brother to get ranked, I have a better k/d nearly every game, and yet I get platinum 1 and he gets diamond 1… I know 343 said its solely based off wins but you are a fool to think that skill is based off victory. I can go 25 and 8 in swat and still lose because of incompetent teammates going 3 and 17. How is that skill based? I’d love to know.
Now as for Elites in halo. They added so much variation and possiblities to the game that anyone with half a brain can see that not including them as playable only hurts the franchise as a whole.
95% of players loved invasion. That gamemode is what defined the title halo reach achieved back in its “prime time”. This means that majority of halo players can agree that character variation is a must have for any successful halo game. Elites fit that spot for variation as they are most similar to humans.
2)Do you know of any good machinima that has Spartans fighting Spartans? They’re non existent! Wanna know why there are barley any machinimas anymore? Cause no one likes to see Spartans trying to fight with the same race! People wanna see aliens trying to take over humans, anything that defines the roots of halo in general is all the community ever wants. Machinimas like “Rise of the Spartans” brought so much life to Reach that it motivated players to get on and log more hours which in the end, is any company’s goal.
This is not to say that halo 4 and 5 are trash because there are no playable elites. All of 343’s games have been amazing thus far and the company without a doubt has gained my trust with my beloved halo. In the end, I only want what’s best for the franchise and if so many people want Elites in multiplayer and they bring all the benefits stated above, then there is no reason for them not to be added.

First of all, I think the majority of us on this site already are fine with elites in only social game modes. I rarely see anyone campaigning for elites to dominate arena.
Next, how can you say elites have “glitchy” hit boxes by basing your argument off of a broken model from halo 3. In halo reach the hitboxes were perfectly fine and I don’t believe much of the community was complaining about elites, in fact, I remember them being favored due to invasion, and being easier to kill. And Halo 5 has very good hit detection as is, so 343 shows they’re competent in that department.
Lastly, despite The great game that Halo 5 is, the “skill based” matchmaking is one of the most broken mechanics of the whole game. You win 10 matches at the top of your team to be placed in platinum or even gold. There is no skill in being matched poorly by the game. Halo 5 really isn’t based on winning or losing, the outcome of the game has very little influence on your playlist rank, your xp, or your req points. In fact, the “competitive” issue a lot of us elite fans have is with people, like yourself, who blame their lack of skill and inability to kill elites on their size. That being said I don’t want elites in competitive, because tryhards will complain.
Im all for constructive criticism here, but don’t just come on this thread blindly tossing statements around that have no substance. Please read what we have to say before you make assumptions. Because a lot of us agree with you and your “arena competitiveness preservation,” for example.

This NOT EVERYONE!!! Wants to be the knight. Some of us actually PREFER!!! to be the monster. Not to mention that Elites fill a kind of niche that NO!! Spartan can.
Besides if these guys have such a fear of hit boxes then keep Elites in unranked playlists!
Besides, most of the ones who are complaining about balanced and hitboxes are goanna spend all of their time on ranked playlists anyway.

Rightly said Juxtu. I think elites should be added as it would gain 343 alot of brownie points with us, Halo Machinima could live with the option in next gen games (MCC is alright but is not really built for machinima/storyboarding) I have no real issue with the games. Just I’d play them alot more if Elites were playable. Hitboxes in Reach and MCC were fine as far as I knew. Halo 3’s were broken and that was a while ago now.
Halo 5 need a better weapon sandbox if playable Elites are added along Spartans Vs. Elites, there is two UNSC precision weapons (BR & DMR) , not the case with Covenant weapons (bring back the Needle Rifle ! ) .
When I played a nice Invasion Skirmish with 3 friends (Elites won) , one Elite loadout use a Needler, UNSC lack a such counterpart (al least in Reach) .
That kind of thing should be avoided when possible.
