Exactly! Heck I don’t go on competitive playlists anyway. To much to deal with and not really worth anything unless I have to unlock something by playing through the competitive list.

you competitive people will spend all your days on competitive playlists anyway. Even they added them they wouldn’t be found on competitive playlists anyway.
There’s no way that Elite players would pose a threat to a competitive players K/D ratio at this point.

And I actually agree with your side of the argument by the way. His question about the thread has nothing to do with anyone’s opinion. Check again the size and age of this thread.

despite that, it still going on.

Even if that was the case, there are some who don’t play as Elites but want them to be playable anyway. They are apparently a must have to a lot people.

but to be realistic I don’t think they will be added as DLC in Halo 5 much as I want them to. If they did I’d actually would give Halo 5 a chance. I only played Halo 4 because I thought it was not fiar for me to not try it and to be honest, it did not last long but not because of the cod perks (as they have been interpreted by some) but the lack of playable elites. they even said that issue was time and resources. Never heard anything about balance issues.

Because hundreds and thousands of fans care about this.

With a thread of 562 pages (most of the comments being supportive) I find it hard to not be a big deal.

Elites are cool. But how do we incorporate Elites into a PvE matchmaking experience, or into a super competitive experience? Seems to me you cant really do either. Which means the only place for Elites in Halo 5 would be in the new social playlists coming next week.

Most of the community will be happy with just having them in social and in custom games anyway. Its a win/win.
Besides most who aren’t too serious about score or K/D will have a lot of fun in those types they most likely won’t touch the competitive thing unless one of their friends invites them to it.

Omg this has been here since 2012 but for halo 5 bring back elites so we could have invasion.

They wont do it… It’s not in their “vision” of Halo…

Well their vision of Halo sucks. All they care about is Spartans.

Their vision does suck… I mean, not just with the whole spartan thing, but the way they are copying all these new games. Titan Fall, Destiny, Call of Duty. That’s what Halo 5 is… Now they have this whole Organics Vs Synthetic thing starting with Cortana… So they are going to copy Mass Effect now? The only creative thing 343 is giving us is the new godly forge… Speaking of creativity and spartans, have you seen the designs of the armor!? UGLIEST -Yoinking!- designs. They need to fire some people…

I really really want Sangheili to return, but the way 343 is, makes me think they aren’t as capable as they claim to be… I am already thinking about quitting halo all together. I’m kind of getting sick of Reach. Halo 4 got boring quickly, and I don’t see a future for the next games. At least not one for the old fans. There’s a couple new games coming out anyway that seem fun, and might be good enough to have communities as big and as fun as what Halo used to have.

Elites are what made halo unique, being an alien was so cool. Unlike playing as a spartan… Aka a human, which is what we play as in nearly every fps ever.

If the support continues, I’m sure 343I will bring back the Elites in one of the patch’s or updates within Halo 5’s lifespan.

They will only ever care about Spartans and it’s hard to really blame them for that. Spartans, maybe not plural, have always been at the center of these games. At least the story guys see the value of adding other sides of the story in, but I stopped getting my hopes up over this stuff a long time ago. We simply aren’t getting playable Elites in the main games for a while if at all.

Speaking of which, Halo Wars 2 should be safe since multiplayer with just UNSC would be very lacking in variety… They wouldn’t do that, right? …Right?

Oh, and no, Elites won’t be added in a patch just because they see people want them. Unless of course they were planning on adding them in late all along, but I really doubt that.

It would be cool to have playable elites but have them in there own game modes or custom games. But if 343 doesn’t want elites then maybe playable prometheans?. Or even elite-human spartan hybrid things that have the full spartan armor on but look like an elite so its a mix of both.

I don’t know really know tho.

You havent even played Halo 5. At all. And they aren’t copying other things. Can you explain what they get off of titanfall or CoD? Oh, and the Organics/Syths thing? Like that isn’t a major sci-fi trope. Well, if it isn’t then I guess Mass effect copied Star Trek and the Borg, by your logic at least. Also, because you don’t like a certain asthetic, you feel like they should lose their jobs? Look at all the armor permutations, there is literally no way you could like everysingle one of them. So, if you’re going to be such a negative nancy, go then, go play Battlefront (that joke of a game. I enjoy it though) or whatever has a bigger community than Halo (that’s sarcasm, Halo is still one of the largest communities in gaming).

I don’t really like that “playable Prometheans” idea you have there. They’re kind of bland. #BringBackFlood
Elites should be the only playable species that’s not a dirty human. :stuck_out_tongue:

My favorite Halo multiplayer was Halo: Reach with invasion. I loved being a sneaky dinosaur and stealing the humans’ sniper, rockets, and laser on Boneyard with my frends. The other team must have been so angry when they ran to get power weapons and found nothing but needlers and plasma pistols. Playable elites made moments like that possible. As fun as Halo 5 is, I have never had as much fun playing it as I did playing invasion. Sangheili (dinosaurs, elites, etc…) could only make halo games better (if they are implemented properly).

Precisely It gets boring when ya play as a Spartan all the time. That’s why I chose to skip this game.
Some may find it hard to see what is Intresting in playing as the monster but like I said.
Not everyone wants to play the knight some want to be the dragon.

This is a first person shooter game. You shoot people. I can understand people having problems with the weapons, gameplay, etc. But to completely say “I don’t play this game because of no playable elites”? Thats extreme even for the most casual of players. This isn’t an RPG where you care about how your character looks and stuff, its a simple FPS where you jump in, kill people, and have fun. No need to put so much emphasis on how your character looks. Most people don’t even notice how the person they are trying to kill looks except for maybe their color. Even the current armor selection in the game doesn’t make much sense. I have never once looked at someone and noticed that their armor is different from any other.

The thing is that Sangheili have been playable since Halo 2 where the Sangheili community started. Since then the Sangheili community has grown into something large and memorable. It’s odd for a Halo game not to have playable Sangheili now.

They could incorporate them, it’d just be very, very, very difficult. This is how I’d deal with it:

  1. Keep Elites out of competitive matchmaking, only in social and customs.
  2. All players start off with all Elite armour so they don’t have to buy REQs just for their Elites OR have a lot fewer elite armours than spartan ones in the REQ system.
  3. Elites technically make sense to have a comeback in the lore as the UNSC and the Swords of Sanghelios have an open alliance after Halo 5’s campaign as they fight alongside each other again. It makes perfect sense to incorporate them as Elites training with Spartans makes sense.

Exactly its a simple a solution how the heck can no-one see this as a good option.
