Sangheili (Elites) In New Trilogy Matchmaking (Part 1)

Elites aren’t gonna happen.

Stop trying to make it happen.

It wouldn’t make any sense for them to just go “surprise!” and add elites back in. They wouldn’t have let us know already even if there was a delay like with Forge.
And now the waiting for Halo 6…

That is the worst part

Having playable elites is not imperative to the overall gameplay of Halo, they bring forth balance and canon issues if they were implemented into multiplayer. Elites are supposed to be bigger than spartans, which would make them bigger targets and therefore easier to kill. To compensate they would need to shrink them down to the Spartan IV level, which would cause problems within the canon. Not to mention that their structure is much different than that of humans, so there hit boxes would be different. Elites would bring unnecessary issues to a MP that is all about balance and even footing, that’s why they are not being implemented.

And then Reach happens.

They do not bring canon issues. They have the Anvil Initiative.

I’ve said this several times and I will say it again:

If we shrink down the Reach models by about 40%, then they would be approximately the same mass as Spartans. Not only that, but they also have a similiar stature to Spartans in that game, which would eliminate all hitbox related issues. As as for your canon point, the obvious thing to do would to either A. Make MM not canon or B. Canonize 7 foot Sangheili.

So sick of people falling back on canon and competitiveness.
Is there no such thing as variety anymore, or having fun? Does everything have to be 110% balanced? It works perfectly fine in Halo 2A, they did great with elites in it.

Elites don’t need to be Spartans that look like an Elite, that work fine with Reach, think “invasion” , with Spartan Abilities coming to Halo 5, that the best moment to make things different for Elites (like Elite Abilities maybe ? ) .

Ah, you don’t need to make things balanced by the same size, stats, etc… take a look at the fuel rod gun vs. the rocket launcher.

Traits are a no-brainer, but how do you expect them to match a Spartan’s physique but still come across as Sangheili any more than what was done with Helioskrill?

I mean the arch of the back, elongated neck/skull, and leg structure are major obstacles for what you’re implying is so simple. Taking those bodily features away makes it no longer an Elite.

Their arched backs was only a trait from Halos 2 and 3, in all the other games, they stood up straight. I think if their necks are slightly shortened by 10% or so, then we shouldn’t have with it. As for their legs, I found that they had the same hitboxes as a Spatan’s legs in Reach.

A little off topic, but now we can have Clans in Halo 5! If you want to join a Sangheili Clan (or “Spartan” Company) in Halo 5, here is one I just made. You don’t have to do it, but the option is there if you want it

IF you wish to join, just search “Fireteam Helios”.

That’s if they even bother including them in Halo 6.

That part is up in the air and we can only hope.
Since I don’t plan on playing it because of the lack of elites and split-screen, I will be unable to judge it anyway.

Way to be constructive, Negative Nancy.

Don’t mind them. Just focus on this discussion at hand.

Question to those of you that will be playing despite not having playable elites (and those that say they won’t play but most likely will): Will you be wearing the helioskrill armor or has something else caught your eye?
I think an elites only spartan company with a rule that all members have to wear helioskrill (or at the very least, just the helmet) would be pretty cool.

hi too much reading just posting this in stead

Having elites would be cool, but I really don’t think the game is going to suffer from not having Elites in the multiplayer.
