343i doesnt care about playable elites, they proved it in Halo 4 & proved it again. Have they given even good excuse ?
Wow this thread is big, why not all us Elite-players wear the Helioskrill and pretend to be Elites? I would if I wanted to go through the hell of all the campaigns on legendary again.

Pretending isn’t close enough to what we want. Helioskrill may make Spartans look like Elites, but you’re not going to mistake them for an actual Elite. Plus, there are other small differences such as HUD design and character voice that would be necessary to distinguish Spartans from Elites. We may be able to look like Elites, but we still have the same HUD and human voice to remind us that we’re still Spartans, whether we like it or not.
I used to hate the idea of elites in matchmaking once infinity was revealed but with the teaming of arbiter it would make sense that a squad or platoon of co op unsc elites would be plausable therefore able to enter warzone, but NOT arena

There was no explanation. Multiplayer was non-canon before 343 directed Halo. They used the idea of canonical matchmaking as a reason to leave playable Elites out of Halo 4, and they’re leaving them out again in Halo 5 despite the fact that Elites are working with humans now.

You have it mixed up: there was no canon for multiplayer until Halo 4 decided to answer a question that no one asked.
For those of you who say that there is no reason to play as an elite if you can’t even see your elite avatar… Well with that logic, there is no reason to customize your spartan… Yet… Customization happens to be one of the top features everyone favorites in gaming, no?

nah next gen limits them to spartans only.

Honestly lack of elites is the only reason I don’t want the game, I want it for campaign, but I can’t stand playing as a spartan in MP, 343i made elites look soo cool in Halo 4, halo 2a, and 5, but still we can’t play as them, I guess I’ll just have to cry until Halo 6 comes out, maybe they will add them then.

I don’t get it either. It was may favorite part of multiplayer. And for all the people who say it’s only a cosmetic.I loved researching it on theater.
What I really don’t understand about the non inclusion is the fact the Arbiter plays such a vital role in the game. He is literally a main character in halo 5. Sure he is not playable but he is still huge. Yet nothing for playable elites. Nada. And that is No bueno.

It’s literally a big screw you from 343i to us, we go on elites home planet, and they even make an elite styled spartan armor, but still no elites. That’s what makes me really mad, I honestly don’t get why they are so uptight about elites not being playable, I just don’t get it. They took them out, and a huge amount of people begged and pleaded for them to come back, yet they for some reason are too stuck and won’t give us a feature that should’ve never been removed, every Halo game by Bungie (Besides Halo ce and ODST) had playable elites to some extent, yet 343i is against any possibility of them returning, thanks 343.
I’m seriously hoping for some sort of post launch Elite dlc, 343i makes elites look so majestic, yet we can’t play as them. If 343i did this, I’d love them for ever.
And if they’re sooooo afraid of elites ruining competitiveness then how about we just add them to warzones and custom games?

They’ve never said there is no possibility of them returning. It seems where they want to take the story right now, they don’t want to devote resources to allowing elites to be playable, but that doesn’t mean they won’t visit this in a future release
