I don’t really hate them, I was just mad when I wrote that haha. I’m glad they’re making Halo 5 feel more like a Halo game than 4, I hated 4, played it for a few months and never touched it again.

Just tired of 343i not listening to us when it comes to the small features.

If 343 listened to everyone’s requests, the game they put out would be an unmitigated disaster.

Hahaahahahahahaha "Just tired of 343i not listening’
Dude, they have changed nearly everything people wanted to be changed from the Beta. They are VERY community orientated as of late.
Not having you dinos playable isn’t a small feature, and it’s not gonna happen. I’m glad it’s not with that attitude. Get out of here.

Eventually people will realize that playing as an Elite in multiplayer was just a gimmick that added nothing to the gameplay.

Elites do not and should not have access to the same abilities as Spartans. Elites are a dime a dozen and Spartans, while increasing in numbers, are still a rarity on the battlefield. An average Spartan is far superior to the average Elite. Elites have different hitboxes that will either always make them played by everyone for an advantage or never played at all. Elites also have to be resized smaller to be balanced in multiplayer. It would also be off-putting to see Elites running around with human starting weapons. If playing as an Elite means playing a smaller version that spawns with human weapons then what’s the point? Elites are supposed to be imposing figures that use their own alien-arsenal. Shoehorning them into multiplayer is just a disgraceful gimmick that waters down the whole experience.

Spartans are the main focus of characters in the games (especially Halo 5) and designing the player’s experience around controlling a Spartan is the best route to go, seeing as the main character of the game is also a Spartan.

I miss the dinos. They offered comic relief to multiplayer.

Thank you!!!
It was only added to the game period as a gimmick of a new way to play, having a whole other person to play as.
Everyone freaking about not getting to play needs to see that, and not use their emotions of ‘I don’t get what I want’ as an excuse to try and get what they want.

Looks at OP post date

After 3 years you guys just can’t give it a rest can you?

Spartans are not better than Elites. It depends on rank. A Spartan IV is equal to a Sangheili Minor imo, a Spartan II is equal to a General or an Arbiter, proven in Halo 2 & 3, and so on. Elites have killed many Spartans, and vice versa. They as equal as black people and white people.

But, to focus up, we will not give up. We are fighting for what we loved about Halo multiplayer. Just because many people of the Halo fandom disagrees with us or flat out hates us, doesn’t mean we should be silenced. We too are fans of this wonderful franchise. We have as much right to public speech as you. So, we won’t quit. We must, as I would put it, Finish the fight. Also, Snickerdoodle why are you against us? I thought mods were peaceful law enforcers?

with 546 pages here you would think 343 would recognize this as a very big want from the community and put elites in the multiplayer. Don’t get me wrong I love what they are doing and love Halo, but I can’t help but feel a bit ignored. I think if something can be asked for by so many people that they should make it hapen.

There are a lot of requests for Halo 5, and we have only one: playable Elites. That’s not unreasonable, especially considering that it has been done 3 times before.

Armor customization adds nothing to gameplay either, it’s just a way for players to stand out from the crowd. Yet people are still complaining about how wer can only customize 3 pieces of our armor now.

Invasion show how the hitboxes don’t matter, like the higher jump and better speed, unless you are playing on a map where you need to jump and avoid traps… those better stats are nothing.

EDIT : about the starting weapons, that why loadouts aren’t a bad idea.

When a canon multiplayer is cool (I don’t know another game doing that) , they remove good things and can’t do what they want.

Even if there are 1000 unique users ITT claiming to boycott Halo until elites are playable again it still wouldn’t be enough.
343 is well aware of how badly elites are wanted and what percentage of the community considers it a deal-breaker and they still do not consider it to be a risk to not include them.

Spartans are better than Elites. A Spartan IV would destroy an Elite Minor, I don’t know why you don’t think that. Elites have killed Spartans but how many of those kills were in a “fair” engagement? Technically, Grunts have killed some Spartans too but you know that doesn’t mean they are better or even equal soldiers. Look how many Elites it took to kill Emile in Reach and he still managed to kill them all too before he died. Noble-6 took out tons of Elites single-handedly before he was killed and they had to swarm him to finally put him down. I don’t know why you’d bring up the black people/white people thing because that’s completely irrelevant.

Simply put, most Elites do not have the agility, technology, training and clear state of mind that the Spartans do. In some cases I would argue that Spartans are even physically stronger, I’ve never seen an Elite flip a Warthog. Sure, some of the extremely high skilled Elites like the Arbiter would be more than a match for your average Spartan. But the average Elites are not on equal grounds.

Actually you’re wrong. A Spartan IV lost in a fist fight against an Elite minor, John Forge was no match against Ripa, Thel 'Vadam was considered Master Chief’s equal, etc. Elites are superior. Spartans are anything without their fancy gadgets and technology. Just telling the truth.

You make decent points (sometimes) on other issues Zoom, but Sangheili aren’t exactly your field.

I’m not entirely opposed to Elites being playable but if they are going to be in the game then make them unique and provide a new gameplay experience. Invasion was going in the right step for this. Elites shouldn’t just be re-skinned Spartans, which is exactly what they were and what all of you seem to want back. Why not scale the Brutes down and have them playable too and the exact same as Spartans? Why not make the Promethean Soldiers playable too?

I really can’t agree with this. And how many Elite Minors do you think have died to a Spartan in combat? One rare case doesn’t change the bigger picture. If Elites are superior then how on god’s green earth did Noble-6 fight back like 10 of them single handedly before dying? How did MC manage to overpower and kill an Elite that was using an Energy Sword after he just climbed up an elevator shaft?

Elite Slayer and Invasion should absolutely return. Imagine Invasion on Warzone maps!
But shrinking elites down and stuffing them into spartan hitboxes? Hell no. Elites deserve better. And players deserve hitboxes that aren’t all messed up.

They could be unique in those game modes, but in Arena, Spartans and Sangheili must play the same. As for the last sentence, I would not be opposed to that and I would welcome those two with open arms.

Then it’s definitely just our differing opinions because I feel like adding those two into multiplayer (without making them unique) would be terrible. It would be terrible to see Spartans just get watered down with Brutes, Elites and Promethean Soldiers all able to Ground Pound, Thruster and Slide. Pretty much able to do anything that a Spartan can.

Why add all these races into multiplayer if they are all essentially the exact same thing? Why not just focus on making more armor designs, assassinations, etc for Spartans? That way you have one really good thing instead of 4 mediocre and shallow things.
