Sangheili (Elites) In New Trilogy Matchmaking (Part 1)

Personally, I was never bothered with the addition of or the removal of playable elites in Halo multiplayer. Regardless, I doubt they will be included in multiplayer anymore. Back in the day, I remember so many people complaining about them and I don’t think 343i is interested “elite gameplay.”

> Ok, True. I’ll start. I feel that if 343 made a Halo game with: no ADS, fully mp elites, split screen, multiple playable species, no lens glare, a longer campaign, and a firefight return, that would be the best selling video game ever. Especially because of the choice of being a species of your liking. It would be awesome being a Jiralhanae, a Promethean Knight, a Sangheili, an Unggoy (in some gametypes), or even a Hunter for some gametypes. Elites are most favorable though. What do you all think?

It is an interesting Idea. They could do a similar feature to Beast mode in Gears of War. One side was human and the other side was all the species of aliens. That was a damn fun game mode! No body was worried about hit boxes in that! I mean you could play as a giant centipede! Sizes ranged from the giant berserker that was close to invincible to the ticker that died in one shot. XD I could see a similar thing being done on Halo. One side Spartan IV’s and the other side a mix of alien species While still being PVP. Imagine the custom game modes that could be created with all species playable!

Invasion II! That’d be awesome!

It’s been too quiet. I’ll start a conversation. I heard that Elites will be playable in a future title, but 343 wants to keep it lokey so many fans will be surprised and spend even $$$ on Halo. That’s what I heard from Twitter.

I think you heard rumors with no weight to them. However, I don’t dismiss the possibility of them being playable in future titles. Judging by the way things are now though, it seems the probability of them being playable ever again is not in our favor. Too many haters, not enough support. I don’t like saying that, but that is how I feel in this situation. Not that my feelings matter in this anyway. I think there are a lot of people who do support the return of Elites, but do not make there voices heard. For example I have been with halo since day one and was always an Elite fan. However, I never participated in any forums or clans or anything to show my support for that community even though I was interested in its existence. When I heard about halo 4 I still did not participate in any of it even though I was really upset. This forum is the only video game related thing outside of the actual game that I have ever participated in and I probably won’t go much further than this. I have maybe 15 posts on here all from the past few months or so. That’s the extent of my participation. My point is that there are probably a lot of other people out there that that care about this and aren’t participating, but hoping the issue will resolve itself or thinking others who support it will be enough and their own voice won’t matter. That’s just what I think.

I think the silent supporters are the majority of the Sangheili community. Only about maybe 40% actually speak out, join clans, post on forums, etc. But, there are some that will always do these things, even when a vast amount of fellow Halo fans are against them. Myself, Thel Vadam, justathereptile, and many other Sangheili activists. Let’s not lose hope. The fans that only want Spartans, hate Elites, or even hate us want us to quit. I didn’t quit at my football game last night, and I won’t quit now. I have a plan. I’m going to go to the other communities that are looked down upon: No ADS community, No Spartan abilities community, anti-Sprint community, etc. If I can get them to ban with us, we might be able to get 343’s attention. We are all under 343’s tyrannical feet, but together, we can push the boots of oppression off of us, and climb to the top of 343’s attention, to share our feelings and opinions with them. That is what I will do.

I just don’t understand why some people are so adamantly against having the option to play as something other than a Spartan. It’s like being against armor customization.

I know! It’s our preference. We don’t all want to be metal men shooting metal men. Elites are just my favourite race.

I’m not sure those are the best communities to team up with. I think all of those features improve the game dramatically. Without them there would hardly be any change the game play at all. I think the more options they add the better. I don’t want to see the same stuff over and over again. Don’t get me wrong I like your idea, but IMO they probably wouldn’t be the best representatives for the Elite community. They would probably just spur more hatred for us because I think most people like those things. What if Elite fans blew up twitter or something? Twitter seems to get a lot of attention. Call out all of the silent supporters. XD

Please don’t bump this thread like this. We know it’s here. We know you want Elites. We get it. Let the thread happen organically instead of forcing discussions/bumps.

Thanks.

Yes ma’am.

It’s been a while since I was last on this thread. I know one thing that will keep us all going in terms of us playing as Sangheili; that being Reach is going to be backwards compatible. I know it’s not much but it’s something. As long as the Sangheili community doesn’t die, nor will the hopes of us all being able to play as Sangheili in future Halo games. Stay strong brothers and sisters!

343 just give us the Elites

maybe just add them in an innovated Invasion and Custom Games just let us have them geez

All this Canon and Balance talk is so cheezy

It’s kindy rude how 343 never mentioned the Sangheili community when announcing Elites were not going to be playable. If you’re gonna crush our dreams, at least mention us. I’m also surprised that no one publicly disagreed with the decision. Sure security might forcefully escort you out, but at least the Sangheili community would gain even more popularity. Playable Elites would have been a little bit more likely.

Stick on topic friends. As for model choosing, I’d take the Reach any day. My reasoning behind it is because there’s so many variables into the gameplay, abilities, environment, aiming. With a larger target, increased shields and mobility can balance out. That was the initial idea back in Reach, and in all honesty, it never stopped people from adapting to the idea. It was self balanced when it came to the character models. Even Firefight Versus granted them Night Vision too. The way I see it, the mechanics for the Sangheili are set. Our community just has to pull their crap together, decide and let it be know. Enough about our sentiments if we want to progress.

The Reach method was fairly successful. I don’t see why in a dlc or a future title this cannot be done. The mechanics are there; so many fans would be regained too.

Made a Twitter account for this purpose. The name is Blue Sunrise or @covenantsunrise.

I do like to believe there is a chance for an Sangheli based DLC, they already have Usze and N’tho, and could easily introduce two more Sangheili characters for a spec ops team from Swords of Sangheilios. It would nail down not only a story based campaign, but implement playing as an Elite within the multiplayer arenas again.

After all, after launch and a day one patch, 343I could have the time and resources they (apparently) lacked.

Halo 5 would be amazing with elites, especially now that the MP characters talk, you know how bad -Yoink- it would be hearing elites yelling at their enemies or talking with their team?

While I also want elites it wouldn’t make sense for them to have “Spartan abilities”
