Funny. When they did that exact thing in Halo 4, I stopped playing after a month and a half because being a human simply wasn’t fun.

That is probably in your head, you probably stopped playing Halo 4 like most people because the game in general wasn’t very good or balanced. Halo 4 on the MCC is far better than the 360 version as most of the crap is removed. You have said yourself you will buy Halo 5 anyway and I bet good money on your sticking around playing that if the game is fun regardless of being able to play as an Elite or not.

Actually I didn’t mind a lot of H4’s features, I simply did not find the game interesting as a Spartan, nor did I the Halo 5 beta, despite that I was actually fairly good at it. Elites made Halo’s multiplayer feel more unique than CoD or Battlefield or Titanfall to me.
As it stands I’m only getting Halo 5 to add to my Legendary collection and to play the story. The gameplay is solid, I’ll admit that, but since I will be forced to play a wannabe power ranger again I’m still less interested in it’s multiplayer than I am in doing my laundry.

Maybe you should just by a Elite HUD sticker then that you can stick onto your TV and pretend you are an Elite all you like, as that would obviously make the game 100 times better. I still feel though if the game is actually fun and enjoyable however you will play it regardless and enjoy it as I said Elite or not.

That is your opinion and you are entirely entitled to it. But there is a reason people hate the lack of armor customization, which is a similar issue, despite that it doesn’t directly change the gameplay.

The fix for this is simple. Give them Reach treatment and only make them playable in custom games as well as 1-2 game types.
I hate when people compare playable Elite models to choosing between different MJOLNIR variants in an attempt to justify their inclusion. Armor variants don’t require new animations for every weapon/ability, reworking collision models, creating another HUD, or opening the can of worms that is spawning with a weapon from your race/faction. Playable Elites do.
Also, I haven’t seen a general consensus from the “Elite community” for how they should implement playable Elites. Some want them to be the same size/speed/shield strength, etc. as Spartans, while others want them to be more along the lines of what Reach did.

Didn’t seem to be a problem in Reach. It is only two gametypes, one was just slayer, but this time you’re an elite.

But Reach Elites!!! Not only were they actual Elites, but I really started to care for my dino as much as I did my spartan.

You’d think that the warzone maps would be appropriate for invasion, so it wouldn’t seem as though it would be that difficult to do. Yeah but Invasion was one of the most popular game types in Reach due to the fact the rest of the game kind of sucked. I feel this was to do with the gamemode however and not because it was spartans vs elites.

I’m sure that 343 will add them at some point or another after launch. In Halo 4, they stated they they weren’t included because of the canon matchmaking. But this time around Elites are working with the humans, and 343 said that they weren’t included because of limited time and resources, so it seems that it wasn’t a matter of choice. Furthermore, if they didn’t want playable Elites they would’ve told us long before E3.

Well, sucked is subjective. I enjoyed Reach a great deal and it maintained a pretty good population. Not Halo 3 good, but decent.

We’re not asking for too much such as Elites to be too overpowered. We just want them back, that’s all.
There’s more to the Halo universe than just humanity when it comes to the games, and we like to see it from another species perspective in the games rather than just read about it.
No time? I understand they have to meet a deadline but still, it doesn’t hurt to spend a little more time to make it for us. I don’t want more weapon skins, I want Elites.
In fact I don’t even care about weapon skins, and even if we had the exact same vehicle variants from Halo 2 - 4 I wouldn’t care.
Playing as an Elite in multiplayer gives a superficial perspective at best, given the game doesn’t really treat you any differently (except in the case of Reach). Sure you look like a Sangheili, walk like a Sangheili, and even grunt and scream like a Sangheili… but if you’re truly that invested in role-playing as these warriors, why are you sated by a cosmetic skin and HUD?
If you want to delve into the Sangheili perspective/culture outside of the books, you would be interested in a spin-off game focusing on them, yes? I find it surprising that the demand for playable Elites is manifested as a desire for a MP skin, rather than something like that.

I do want an Elite spinoff. But that seems much more unlikely to be actually created than Elites in Halo 5’s multiplayer.

What are we supposed to do with you?
You have a 500 page thread of people wanting Elites back but you tell us that it’s just the same people over and over again when that couldn’t be more false. What do you want me to do? Quote every genuine post on the thread for you? Everyone you’re talking to right now has that same thread in front of them and they see months of patience and passion while you’re trying to convince us that it’s… what was that you said? 20 people max? Sorry but I don’t really know what to tell you other than what you’re saying appears to be quite far from the truth.
You also say that this thread is fanboyism at it’s finest. I ask again what’s the real issue there? There are passionate fans that want Elites back. There’s no argument there for the continued removal of Elites.
You say that they cause an imbalance. We suggest that perhaps you should be asking for separation instead but then you say that’ll split up the community. It only has to split up the Elite players from the Spartans and if there’s no Elites to play as a lot of those players aren’t going to be interested for all that long anyway. The other game types wont be taking a huge hit either way. Like you said, the one thing we agree on is that Elites are a minority. So there’s enough of them to worry about their distribution on the playlist but not enough to give them what they’ve been ever so patiently waiting for? And you’ve spent so much time talking about how bad you think Elite players generally are so why does it matter if they’re playing the same game type as you or not?
You even have somebody directly tell you that the lack of Elites is why they stopped playing H4. Then you tell them it’s all in their head. I already said to you once that we shouldn’t have to be resorting to straw man arguments here.
Do you really think that giving all these people what they’re asking for is going to hurt your experience that much? Why deny your fellow community members of what they want? I’m gonna tell you that I just don’t see it that way and nothing you’ve said has made it any easier to imagine myself in your shoes. If you have more to say I’m happy to hear it. Make me understand why these people should just be ignored.
