Tell that to my General Grade 3 Commando Elite.

Aliens are way more interesting than humans are. IMO, they have a greater appeal because the are literally alien. They are completely new unlike Spartan, while different, are still human.

In my book humans will always be the most boring species when compared to any other foreign species. THAT is why I want to play as an Elite.

Elites have a right to played too :(!

If Elites and Spartans were to match up in equal numbers I have no doubt of the outcome, Spartans would be outright winners leaving the Elites begging for mercy. So I agree with Super, Spartans are definitely superior.

Saying that every spartan is superior to every sangheili is like saying every US soldier is superior to every British soldier, which is definitely not true. Spartans might be superior to most sangheili, but spartans aren’t common soldiers anyway, they’re given better training and tech than other marines, whereas sangheili are mostly on equal ground with each other. Also, most sangheili, being common soldiers eager to prove themselves, run in for the glory of the kill when they see a “demon.” So if you just take some fresh-out-of-training sangheili and send them off to face battle-hardened spartans, of course the spartans will win. But send battle-hardened sangheili to fight battle-hardened spartans and you’ll see something entirely different.

Well put, could not of said it better myself.

Push for DLC now I suppose

Jesus Christ, over 10,000 posts? It’s not that big of a deal, it’s just a minor aesthetic feature. It’s not like it actually changes how the game is played or anything.

Ok, that’s great. But how am I supposed to run a Sangheili based clan without Sangheili?

I finally came on here to say what I have to say.

Personally, I feel like Halo has become too focused on humanity, even if that’s how they intend it to be they make it unfair to those who are big fans of the aliens, especially the Elites.

We have been waiting years to be able to play as our favourite splitjaws again but we still don’t get it. From their perspective I know it’s not easy to balance, and we are given good books involving them, but it’s just that…some of us feel more connected to the Sangheili as a race if we play as them.

Also visiting Sanghelios will feel more like true experience if we are a Sangheili.

But no, they insist in not giving us what we want ever again.

Sangheili is practically in my blood. When I first started playing Halo I was the Arbiter in Halo 3 playing with my brother. I became connected to the Sangheili in a way that non-Sangheili fans will not understand. Without them. I would not be a fan in the first place.

Your average MLG 360 noscope player will probably love it.But I’m a bigger fan of Halo’s lore than it’s competitive community, and find elites drastically more interesting than Spartans. So yes, I would enjoy those features. Without them I will probably lose interest in H5 a month after it’s release just like H4.
> >
> >
> > Yes, I think most who play an Elite are bigger fans of the lore of halo IMO. I am the same way. That’s not to say that everyone who plays a spartan isn’t of course, but I think there is definitely some correlation between loving the lore and loving Elites. Those who hate Elites with a passion probably care more about competitive multiplayer than they do the lore IMO, which is fine, but multiplayer should be more about having fun and living out your fantasy of being an 8ft alien monster mixed with a little friendly competition. xD The competitive extreme stuff where everything needs to be even should be its own separate playlist. Everyone should not be forced into this highly competitive stuff. There should be a separation of the two. one area for casual and one for competitive.
> >
> > I for one would definitely get a kick out of seeing a couple of Elites headbutt at the end of a match, or even do something like that with a spartan. xD I could just see it. Elite and spartan headbutt to cellebrate victory, Spartan staggers back and falls down from the impact. “Not so hard next time buddy, okay?” xD
>
>
> God I love your post. But Sure we might be the strangest community but some of us have personal attachments to the Sangheili. I originally swore of Halo as being a Call of Duty/Modern Warfare/Battlefield space shooter copy. Then I played as the arbiter, granted I only played a little bit but suddenly I was curious about who the hell I was. I was introduced to the Arbiter… I then suddenly fell hard for the Sangheili. The Arbiter was the reason I gave Halo a try beyond being utterly bored one day. Hey lets totally do the Sangheili Headbutt of victory!
>
> I have a small sliver of hope for an offshoot game for the Sangheili like ODST. Or DLC for Sangheili. Sure it sucks now but just think… we’ve made a community just wanting them back let’s stop being so pessimistic.

Hey, Thanks man! I have hope as well [headbutts She Sangheili], but I try to keep it on the dl so I’m not too disappointed in the case we do not get anything for our plight. I heard that ODST was originally supposed to be more about Elites, but so many people complained about that, that they changed it. Not sure where to find that fact, it’s just what I’ve heard. My point is that if we -Yoink- loud enough and have enough support we might get what we want. xD I know it sounds selfish, but apparently that’s how this stuff works. I’m not really sure what all the hate for Elites stemmed from, but I’m pretty sure that every new 12 year old player just goes along with that hate and isn’t really sure why. I feel like that’s where the majority lies. I love playing as an Elite and I do so any chance I get, but I do not hate Spartans. They are incredibly badass. Spartan VI’s not so much as the previous, but still pretty cool. In recent times in halo lore it seems just about anyone can be a Spartan and it really loses its “specialness”. They are nothing compared to the II’s. That’s not to say that some are not incredibly talented and deserving of the Spartan insignia. No, but the days of the “real” Spartans are nearly at an end and we will be left with nothing but “cheep” (that armor probably costs a fortune) ripoffs of what was once something great. However, it is probably for the better that children are no longer kidnapped and forced to be augmented and trained to be the perfect solder anymore. xD

I think I got a little off topic there, but nonetheless it serves to show that I do not harbor mindless hatred towards being a Spartan in MP that others show towards Elites. Does it show that? I don’t know. Maybe I just got off topic. xD Anyway, Like you I also fell in love with the Elites even just seeing them in Halo CE when I was a kid. I remember wanting to know more about them. I always tend to love the alien races in every genera, bad guys or not I sided with anything not human. The more savage and monster like the better. Alien from the movie Alien(hard to decide between Alien or Predator for me) xD, the Scrin in command and conquer, the Zerg in in StarCraft (also a hard choice between them and Protoss), Tyranids in Warhammer etc. It’s just how I am. I like to be the odd one in the minority. Most people just don’t understand. xD I dare to be different. Now you could make the argument that if Halo was all about the Elites and Spartans were the minority, then I would prefer the Spartan. I’m not entirely sure it would work like that for me, since I already love the alien race to begin with. Just throwing that in there so no one else does. xD

We Need Elites To Be Playable!!!

Nostalgia makes issues laughable? Tell that to all of the veteran Halo fans fighting tooth and nail to preserve Halo 2 and 3 gameplay.

There’s no shame in having sentimental value for something; longing for playable Elites is no different from longing for your favorite childhood games. We aren’t asking for much by requesting playable Elites. After all, it’s been done before. I think we have a right to be fairly upset, 343 claims that they didn’t have time or resources to bring back playable Elites, and yet they can make a bunch of goofy weapon skins and vehicle variants?

Adding playable Elites would sure improve Machinima.

Yeah and most of the 10,000 posts are the same people over and over complaining about Elites and the rest are those telling you to move on and get over it as we don’t need them.

Okay is that on a different account as this one is not General Grade 3 and to me looks like a boosted 50 account looking at the amount of games played. Besides legit 50 or not I said most Elites are low level players not all most.

This is the way the Elites end.

For quick death skip to 0.37

Most people here don’t care for Elites you are just a small group making a lot of noise. You have chosen a war against the Spartans which you simply cannot win as we are superior in every way possible.

Back in the days of Halo 2-3 you almost couldn’t play a match without running into an elite. The population was huge back then. But Reach’s restriction forced many to simply get used to playing as a Spartan and the exclusion of it in H4 was the final nail in the coffin of either forcing others such as myself to leave, or pushing the complacency of those that had switched in Reach.

Even when starting a new account back in the day starting out you would generally see players as Spartans not Elites. Also please don’t take offence but playing a game so you can be a character you can’t even see unless in a vehicle or upon death is pretty dumb, if you are enjoying the game it really shouldn’t matter what you look like and Spartans are the most balanced player model.

Let’s not start resorting to straw man arguments.

And when you’re looking for Elite players (a minority) who are also high level players (another minority) what else do you think the results going to be? It has nothing to do with most Elite playing being bad, it’s because most players in general are bad and you’re looking for a minority within a minority.

Exactly as you say Elites are a minority so for all intents and purposes there is no need to include them in the game as they unbalance the game in the first place. I have also just for your information read through a lot of pages on this thread and it is most certainly not 500 pages of Elite love that is fanboyism at it’s finest right there.

Also no matter how you look at it my point still stands that most Elite players are bad players they only choose to play as Elites as it is a slightly different model understand nothing about the core of the game and only play to have fun. If you take away a character model they are not going to care they will carry on playing the game regardless to have fun.

Ah, another example of a Spartan fanboy/non-Sangheili fan who doesn’t understand.

Don’t call them hinge heads in front of me or anyone, you’re just as bad as Palmer.

Actually, reading about the Sangheili is better than reading about humanity, there are too many Halo books about UNSC and ONI anyway.
