The elite community is actually quite large, but with Reach restricting them to one playlist and Halo 4 removing them entirely three years ago, the active members of the community are all that’s left to voice their opinions. The vast majority have already moved on to other games.

Okay I believe you most players obviously left Halo 4 then because Elites were removed not because the multiplayer was imbalanced and had loadouts with a rubbish matchmaking and ranking system.

Well that’s certainly why I haven’t touched it since a few months after it’s release. But that’s not what I was trying to say.
What I was trying to say was the combination of Reach and H4 is what butchered the elite community. Back in the days of Halo 2-3 you almost couldn’t play a match without running into an elite. The population was huge back then. But Reach’s restriction forced many to simply get used to playing as a Spartan or only play one playlist, and the exclusion of it in H4 was the final nail in the coffin of either forcing others such as myself to leave, or finalizing the complacency of those that had switched in Reach.

Not really true most players who played as Elites were at low levels so they were quite rare at the higher ranks in Halo, generally is was casual gamers who chose them. Even when starting a new account back in the day starting out you would generally see players as Spartans not Elites. Also please don’t take offence but playing a game so you can be a character you can’t even see unless in a vehicle or upon death is pretty dumb, if you are enjoying the game it really shouldn’t matter what you look like and Spartans are the most balanced player model.

Well while I respect your opinion I do not share it. After 11 years of playing an elite I feel zero desire to be a Spartan, much less an IV, and seeing a pair of human hands holding my gun, hearing a human saying “grabbing shotgun,” and seeing a human brofisting his teammates after a match ruins my experience more than something as meager as waiting an extra 2 seconds to chuck a sticky at an armor locker ever did.

To be honest other than completely ignoring my section of the fanbase H5 looks fairly solid as a game. Your average MLG 360 noscope player will probably love it.
But I’m a bigger fan of Halo’s lore than it’s competitive community, and find elites drastically more interesting than Spartans. So yes, I would enjoy those features. Without them I will probably lose interest in H5 a month after it’s release just like H4.

Okay fair enough your opinion is yours but basically you don’t like humans acting as such but for Elites to act like humans it would be okay as long as they are in the game.

Buddy, I respect your opinion, but you aren’t bringing any constructive ideas here. That coupled with the fact that I see you’ve been banned for a while now, shows you have nothing good to bring. To make a statement for the players who observe and watch with out commenting unless it’s a topic of concern, we are aware of what’s going on. We don’t have to post often because others will. When they do, those like myself do a simple like or a post, and observe who it unravels. You can’t see what we see, because your bigotism is pouring out of words. Cool off.

Yes, I think most who play an Elite are bigger fans of the lore of halo IMO. I am the same way. That’s not to say that everyone who plays a spartan isn’t of course, but I think there is definitely some correlation between loving the lore and loving Elites. Those who hate Elites with a passion probably care more about competitive multiplayer than they do the lore IMO, which is fine, but multiplayer should be more about having fun and living out your fantasy of being an 8ft alien monster mixed with a little friendly competition. xD The competitive extreme stuff where everything needs to be even should be its own separate playlist. Everyone should not be forced into this highly competitive stuff. There should be a separation of the two. one area for casual and one for competitive.
I for one would definitely get a kick out of seeing a couple of Elites headbutt at the end of a match, or even do something like that with a spartan. xD I could just see it. Elite and spartan headbutt to cellebrate victory, Spartan staggers back and falls down from the impact. “Not so hard next time buddy, okay?” xD

God I love your post. But Sure we might be the strangest community but some of us have personal attachments to the Sangheili. I originally swore of Halo as being a Call of Duty/Modern Warfare/Battlefield space shooter copy. Then I played as the arbiter, granted I only played a little bit but suddenly I was curious about who the hell I was. I was introduced to the Arbiter… I then suddenly fell hard for the Sangheili. The Arbiter was the reason I gave Halo a try beyond being utterly bored one day. Hey lets totally do the Sangheili Headbutt of victory!
I have a small sliver of hope for an offshoot game for the Sangheili like ODST. Or DLC for Sangheili. Sure it sucks now but just think… we’ve made a community just wanting them back let’s stop being so pessimistic.

The Spartans on Reach were outgunned and outnumbered they still did more than enough to make sure the Chief and Pillar of Autumn escaped. If Elites and Spartans were to match up in equal numbers I have no doubt of the outcome, Spartans would be outright winners leaving the Elites begging for mercy. So I agree with Super, Spartans are definitely superior.

One group currently consists of hundreds of people with varying backgrounds, experience and skill sets. The other is an entire species.
But sure Randall could totally wipe the floor with Thel. We aren’t generalizing at all. That fight wouldn’t end any differently than Fred fighting that Elite John through down an elevator shaft at the start of Halo 4.
The whole point of a forum is to provide feedback. And many like myself have said that we want Elites back. There are a lot of people that I’ve come across in my experiences playing previous Halo titles that liked Elites to the point of playing in Clans consisting of only Elite players. We were content creators (screenshots, maps, gametypes, etc), competitve players (playing ranked whether alone or with the clan), and most importantly Halo fans. We have the freedom to post on the forums much like anyone else. And to those saying this is the only thread that is due to the forum mods as others threads that are posted are closed and redirected to only 3 threads. So yes, you’re not seeing more of this as we’re forced to be in one single thread at best.
