I completely agree with you. Funny thing is that they have the campaign models already INPLEMENTED in Warzone, therefore inplementing them to custom games or matchmaking shouldn’t be difficult. Also, if armor customization is in sets, like Reach, I don’t think many will mind as long as they are in the multiplayer.

Thats very true. I get the feeling that Elites might be DLC… Maybe a dlc called ANVIL INITIATIVE Pack

We can only hope they will be there, but to be honest, the way Frank said it made it seem like they can’t do it, but that isn’t true. In my personal opinion, he either doesn’t care about them, they don’t want to do it, or just don’t want them in Halo 5’s multiplayer.
I will be going to RTX and I know for sure 343 will be there so ill ask about elites then and see if they plan to maybe make a dlc where they can be playable again. I know that there is a huge population in support of elites so Ill try to see if I can pitch the idea to them. Especially with the mysterious Anvil Initiative which is canon to the war games they have the ability to add them in.

Hmm… it just feels like they don’t want to bother. In all honesty, let’s look at another game that did DLC and micro ransactions. Mass effect 3. Regarding the multiplayer, they kept adding content to it. Characters, weapons, maps, enemies too. After a game gets released it’s no longer a matter of time and cost, its all about the devs will to do it. They’ll have all the time they need, and a constant amount of resources thanks to their micro transactions system. You’ll be surprised how much people will spend on packs like those. It was the same on ME3 with the purchasable packs… Its the same deal im all corners.
The ANVIL is set, time and resources after launch won’t be a problem, all they need is to actually listen and perhaps something might be right.

Someone asked Frank o Connor why playable elites were not in halo 5 and he answered “they’re big resource commitment & all game development requires production rationalization”. So it’s not a canon issue or a balance issue.So, I don’t see why they can’t be added later on. If the problem is that you’re focusing on bigger things than it can be a little free DLC later on. They have the models already from the campaign, they will need to do the HUD, and it will add a little more customization, and show that you are listening to the fans.I am pretty sure that people will be completely fine with playable elites being added on later, in fact you can also make Promethean solider playable that would also be cool.
P.S. A Halo side game that focuses on elites would be really nice too.

A side game with elites as the main? That’s one of the best ideas that will never get done. They don’t seem to want Sangheili sympathizers clogging the pipes of the lore mill, they seem to be doing their best to get rid of us. I mean come on, putting Sangheili in multiplayer took ONE GUY around 2 hours to code as a mod for h4, they already have the models lying around, all they need is to put a second HUD with the red increased to go with the selection of Customization > Body Type > Sangheili but they won’t. With the amount of rejection and apathy we’ve gotten, a game focused around Sangheili would be the minimum acceptable apology, but it ain’t happening. They’ll probably make up more excuses that end with us being rejected. Who knows, maybe that blight ONI was engineering in the kilo-5 trilogy: “accidentally” gets released in halo 5 and that’s that, I honestly wouldn’t put it past them. The only hope of us getting anything is if we do it ourselves. Speaking of which, I made some test models in the Unity engine, and the Sangheili civil war sounds like a good game inspiration…
They don’t even need to mess around with the HUD, I doubt anyone would truly mind. Funny thing is that if they use the HUD as an excuse to not implement them, then we can ask them why they changed the HUD for everyone in the campaign. (Just going to say that they really have poor resource and prioritation management.)

Now THAT would be a cool first DLC. Imagine the reveal trailer for it. Towards the end they have an Elite emerge from the shadows and draws an energy sword. How sick would that be?!

It could. Early in a game’s development ideas are thrown around like crazy. The return of Elites could have gained enough popularity to be seriously considered, but they may have been cut without being implemented in any capacity. They may have determined that, in light of everything else, that was an area they’d have to cut back.
If they are done in DLC what I’d be curious is if they’ll use a campaign model, which would be the easiest choice, or build one. Customization would be the same as Spartans for sure I would assume so.
