Well who is making Halo Online? Is it fans or is it Microsoft/343? Now does anyone remember a game called ToonTown? It was Disney’s MMO game before club penguin. It was charming but they eventually stopped support for it in favor of Club Penguin. Hackers and people who got the source code which they I believe made open to the public. The fans brought it back with Toontown Rewritten. If it’s the fans who are doing this then we can trust Halo Online as well fans are passionate about what they follow. Hell a fandom is something that takes up a good portion of our devotion, we set aside a little of each paycheck to buy the next book or game or collectible, we talk about and obsess about it as much as Game Theory does about Five Nights at Freddy’s. We break down the lore and every change in the design… did they honestly think we wouldn’t notice? We’ve been patient fans and as loyal to the series as our species of choice was to the Covenant.
Let us not hearken this to the great Schism. However with backwards compatibility on the Xbox we have the ability to return to games of old and clans may form once more. This is difficult for us yes… however we will not let us defeat us. For we are strong, for we are Sangheili! Like I said… fans are passionate and I wish to see what our more creative brethren make in our time of grief. They will be the mod makers and the machinma makers to remind us and bring us joy. Brothers and Sisters of many clans do not dispare as we will never vanish and let us make this megalithic post a monument to our devotion.

343i. Fans got ahold of the source code but are using it to just turn it into Halo 3 on PC, which I already have for Xbox/Xbone anyway.

Considering virtually the entire halo population will be on Halo 5, including people that once played as elites, this matters very little in the grand scheme of things.
All it really means is I get to save three minutes of switching a few cords from my Xbone to my 360 when I want to play invasion.
This is still disappointing.

If 343i doesn’t add elites back, i’ll have no respect for them whatsoever. This thread has been alive since halo 4. They’ve had plenty of time to implement elites yet they completely ignored us, so far it seems like they won’t be playable, Thanks 343 for ruining one of my favorite features for no reason at all.

Warzone: Where everything is possible except for playing as that alien species you could play from 2004 to 2012.

If that is the case, however, it does make me wonder if such player models would be allowed in Arena.

This is correct. I watched the panel as well. Elites will not be playable.
Seems like a missed opportunity, especially in the “warzone” mode where you don’t need to worry about the competitive scene and balancing the difference heads and body sizes between spartans and elites.
I don’t personally care for elites in MM, but I’m not against it. Seems stupid to leave them out for “canon” purposes.

Maybe there is still hope but at this point i’ve lost all my hopes! Until they won’t insert the elites in their own Halo, for me, Halo Reach will be still the BEST Halo ever! Bungie cut off a little bit the elites in their last halo ma at least Bungie didn’t cut off the elites at all!! See invasion and other kind of modes.
Halo reach was…EVERYTHING! From the first halo until the last Bungie preserved every single mode, every single mp species (spartans and elites) and every single kind of FUN!!
343 add this damn elites! Tell us that this is a joke! A HUGE joke!
I was so glad that you was the new “leader” of halo, because in this way you prevented the fall of the game when Bungie left! Your task is to continue to create new kind of entertainment by adding modes and modes! Even adding new mp characters if necessary.

Lol, they need to start working on Sangheili DLC then… Fans would pay $$$ for that (myself included.)
3 years and 10,000+ replies is plenty of demand for one website, and obviously not every Sangheili player in the world uses the Waypoint forums.
I heard Halo 5 will have the most post-launch support out of any Halo title. 343, I will be taking this very literally 
I don’t get why they couldn’t just give a straight answer months ago instead of vague hints towards elites being in the game.
