Right on. I doubt it will happen, unfortunately. 343 seems pretty committed to keeping mp canon, so I can’t see them shrinking elites and making them play the same as spartans.
Hoping elites have something to do with the new mp mode!

Let me rephrase: Why, in your opinion, should 343 eradicate a dedicated and strong group in the community by not doing something as simple as re-skinning the spartans? Why should this group be completey left behind by the new developers and not strengthened? Why should we abandon a compromise such as: sangheili are equal in all modes save for dedicated game modes such as invasion and sangheili slayer, in which they are taller and stronger?

I don’t actually have the article, I saw an IMGUR of it and it was the fourth photo, so maybe the fourth page? It quotes “and fire tracking shots at the Covenant as they jump through the environment using their own version of thrusters to get around.”

Well, I don’t think the issue is should they or shouldn’t they. The issue is how would they reconcile it with their decision to keep mp canon.
Not sure who was around here during the lead up to the launch of H4, but the announcement of canon mp was a big bone of contention for the members of the community that identify with elites over spartans. If it weren’t for canon mp, there would be no issue with having elites in mp. You could do it just like H2/3, no problem.
So, my approach is compromise. I can’t play as elites in every playlist, but being able to in a few playlists such as elite slayer and invasion is better than nothing.
Now, whether or not mp should be canon is a completely different debate and I think saying it shouldn’t just because it makes elites unplayable across all playlists is a valid reason for some.

Want to know why? Because in here, you replied with hostility towards me, which is why I sent that PM to tackle your rebuttals. I am not upset over anything. If Elites return as their Reach counter-parts, I would just go back to 2 or 3 for Elite gameplay.

Nice, seems like we may finally get elites back in mp. I have a lot of hope, especially with 343 making DLC free, along with a bunch of other things the community has wanted. With one of the largest requests being elites, there is little chance they won’t be in.
Also, 500 pages hit lol.

I myself would be fine with this, but that’s probably because I don’t play mainly as an Elite. However, it didn’t cause big problems in past Halo games, so I don’t see why they shouldn’t include them in base gameplay.

Brothers and sisters, gather round and hear my lament.
We are a disgruntled portion of the community voicing our dissatisfaction towards a team that promised to be our new wardens and that they shall be more open and avaible than their predecessors, and not a word from 343i.
We had been forever loyal and our hearts filled with an undying passion for this franchise, with our pride and commitment soaring high above even some of the most devout lore circles, and not a word from 343i.
We have formed some of the mightiest clans that have shook the Halo Nation whether the fanbase knows it or not, and have watched each game be birthed with joy and slip into their graves with sorrow, and not a word from 343i.
We cry out against the injustice of the Spartan-centric spotlight as our once proud community dissipates, but our cries are naught but dust and echoes, and not a word from 343i.
We heard of Halo 4’s absolute negligence of our community in may 2012, we have erected this thread, and have campaigned on it for 3 years, for 500 pages, and now ten thousand posts, and not word from 343i.
