> Humans and Elites should both play exactly the same otherwise the game becomes unbalanced and not an arena shooter. If Elites have different abilities than Spartans then the game will become Halo Reach all over again.
Although you do have a point, you also have to keep in mind that even though both species, Human and Sangheili are allied and at war, it isn’t necessarily always the same for both sides.
Humans fight for their survival, we can fight dirty sometimes, and do some pretty messed up things. But that’s how humans fight. It doesn’t matter if it’s necessarily fair. If it gets the job done and keeps the race safe, it’s viable.
The Sangheili fight for their survival, yes, like all species. But Sangheili pursue honor on the battlefield, and are extremely graceful with the sword. Elites with a vast knowledge of melee weaponry can be extremely deadly, even to Spartans. We’ve seen so in Halo: Legends - The Package. Chief got upstaged. I like Sangheili because they are willing to fight fairly, as long as you promise to do the same. It’s a true test of skill. I still wouldn’t dare challenge any Sangheili to a sword fight, however. Let’s also remember that Elites aren’t afraid of an uneven fight either.
Sangheili are more advanced than humans on terms with certain technologies, and their close quarters combat relates closely to various types of karate, kung fu, tai chi… You name it. (Also sword and blade fighting…) And not only that, but Elites are naturally bigger than humans, so I can imagine having to break from a sprint to a slide at that height could be difficult. Hence why I brought evading into play. Primarily the same function, but just more realistic for their body’s build.
Even with the charge attack, I feel an Elite would go for a kick, rather than a shoulder charge. Mainly because I would say that based on their anatomy the legs would be stronger, as is with human beings. Not only that, but we have to add some diversity to the Sangheili in general. In Halo: Reach, most of the assassinations for elites involved small energy blades that protruded from their armor’s gauntlets. In one assassination we see a form of what people would call a ‘roundhouse’ happen, when a slash through the abdomen ended with a foot to the head. And for that to kill a Spartan, that’s pretty powerful.
Overall it’s entirely the same set of moves, except for my ground pound idea, maybe.
I sure hope I nailed my facts. If I didn’t, I’ll accept any slaps to the face.
