Luckily the elite sin Halo 5 aren’t like that.

Sure you could argue for Reach but H4 did a far larger jump then Reach.

But 4 years between games does not qualify for sudden evolution of the sangheili
Its just a difference in phenotypes, GrimBrother One confirms this.

That would explain quite a bit… even with other species. If that’s the case, let’s hope we get to see those different phenotypes on Sanghelios in Halo 5. If so, It would be incredibly immersive seeing the different species and armor designs.
Also a source page would be nice. I’m not exactly up to date on Grim’s Canon Fodder.

Wait… **WHAT!!! THERE IS A DIFFERENCE IN THE PHENOTYPES???**Heavenly choir. THANK YOU I COULD KISS YOU!!! But sadly mandibles aren’t very good for kissing so I’ll just lick or nip your instead.
Ugh Thank Jesus and here I thought the next trilogy would be dead to me. Sure it seems minor but I fell for the Sangheili hard and suddenly “Bam goes the Lady” they look like battletoads.
I would also like to read that page that GrimBrother One made. Sends him an electronic kiss as my faith in seeing -Yoink!- Sangheili once more is restored

I found it. I have included the statement regarding the Sangheili phenotypes/ armor and the source page for reference.
Q: Will the variations in Sangheili appearance and armor in the games be explained canonically?
Thel Vadam4321
A: While more will eventually be discussed regarding this topic, we’ve touched on some of this on multiple occasions. Physiologically, the Sangheili encompass a range of various canonical phenotypes, with more pronounced variations having been seen in mandible and skull shape as well as skin texture. Sangheili armor is something we plan on discussing more at length, but the short answer is that armor can be found in an incredibly wide variety of styles and colorations, some designated for specific roles and mission objectives, while others stem from more hierarchal-based origins. For example, a Ranger’s combat harness can come in multiple variations, but it worn to perform a specific function. Other harnesses – and even colors to some degree - are more ceremonial in nature. Somewhat complicating the matter is the nature of Sangheili-derived livery choices versus the tendencies preferred by the Covenant specifically.

“Mandibles are not good for kissing” made my day. Also now knowing that there is a difference in Phenotyoes makes me feel much more at ease as why some Elites look different than others. In my opinion though I think the elites in the H2A campaign look the most beautiful and badass of them all and I hope this is what the look like in Halo 5. Since we all love Elites, would you guys agree that an Elite based Halo game would be absoulotley amazing. We’re we could create and design our very own Sangheli hero that is not the Arbiter. (Love the Arbiter, favourite character). If this happened it could possibly replace Halo 2 as my favourite Halo.

You know, I’m not even gonna hesitate this time. If (and only “if”) Halo 5 brings back playable Sangheili in a big way, I will gladly replace my number one favorite Halo game spot with it.
I hope that if elites do come back in H5/6, they bring back the reach zealot armour.

The idea is to have a multitude of armor permutations for the Sangheili. So why the hell not bring back the Reach Zealot armor?
They better use how Arby looks in H2A and not in Escalation.

Well the Cannon Fodder link and the answer in question explains a lot. What I would like to see is if the Sangheili get back into 100% multiplayer is that we get the ability to mix and match armor. Ultra helm and Aztec not even bothering to look it up currently sick. Have to keep focused shoulder pauldrons.

Hell why not see a rainbow of how Sangheili look. We see some guys from Reach with some from H2A chatting it up with H3 and H4 guys and a guy from CE drunk in the corner. And the ability to pick in Multiplayer which Era/Type of Sangheili we choose to look like. That’s the kind of customization I’d like to see in H5 and if that is the case I’d gladly buy an Xbone. I feel a little robbed by H2A with the 3 armor choices and its just H4 sangheili. To have that ability to mix and match armor and see Sangheili from different games (The Spartans get that choice of which game they want to look like why not the Sangheili for a change) I would happily get Halo 5 and an Xbone.

Although thats a good explanation, i wonder if thats just something made up to explain the random inconsistencies in the Elite designs. Like “Ohh for the past 2 or 3 games the designers didnt care to make the species consistent so we will just say there’s tons of variety in the Sangheili and call it a day.”

I know but I feel like the Sangheili were just thrown in as a last minute edition. I’m probably looking at a gifted horse in the mouth. True but I still feel robbed by the Master Chief Collection. They should have released H2A as a solo game then try to do the mammoth that is the MCC. I also lack an Xbone so my experience is second hand. I also doubt a Halo port coming to the Wii anytime soon.
And to Shepard… at least its a more reasonable explanation then not giving one at all.

Their heads are what make me cringe as they thickened the necks elongated the head and suddenly the Sangheili look like a distant cousin of Predator. I have a far easier time explaining this in person but just how they changed their skull and suddenly everyone is suffering from Ginger syndrome. Sure you could argue for Reach but H4 did a far larger jump then Reach.

But 4 years between games does not qualify for sudden evolution of the sangheili

I, for the most part, agree. If the inconsistencies between designs were less noticeable (but still noticeable to some degree) I think it’d be more acceptable to say it’s merely a difference in phenotypes. For example, the appearance of Sangheili feet in Halo 2 Anniversary versus their feet in Halo Reach/Halo 4 is quite the difference.
Alright, so lets say we do get playable Elites for Halo 5. What would you guys like to see out of them? Would you rather they use the standard Spartan Abilities, or have new Elite Abilities? What about available armor permutations? The inclusion of skin color changes? Lets hear some ideas!

I want to see equal customization for elites that is equivalent to spartans in halo 4 if we get full on customization back. I would also like to see multiple returning and new armor sets such as…
Ranger (reach)
Ultra
honor guard
ascetic
commando
zealot
councilor (smaller helmet size)
spec ops (reach)
I also think elites should have the same abilities as spartans to greater increase chances of them being in normal MM.

Would like to see Abilities that both the Spartans and a Elites use as well as unique abilities for each species. Also skin colour changes an possibly your Elite figure could all be customisable. Say you could choose to look like any type of Elite from Reach to Halo 4. I would create my Elite based on the Halo 2 Anniversary model with Zealot armour from Halo 2 Anniversary.

I was thinking both species could use the Spartan abilities but the Elites would perform them differently. For instance, instead of shoulder charging like the Spartans, they would kick bash after reaching terminal velocity, or perhaps tackle opponents when ground pounding. I also think if the Elites are going to be using thrusters, the Halo 4 Ranger model would make for a good basis. Agreed.
Okay now, we have ideas like armors, weapons, and other stuff.
I hope 343 is listening to this. If they cannot notice this topic someone has to look for 343’s twitter, Facebook ect and talk to them about it and this topic.
