When those 300 Spartan III were deployed, they were still young and had no mjolnir, but they still destroyed elites in hand-to-hand combat. And then, you have a spartan-II with mjolnir being equal to Thel. But mjolnir make Spartans 5 times stronger.
Aliens made OP? They were threatening in the first few novels, then portrayed as complete fools later on. Even Nylund, whose work on FoR I enjoyed, decided to follow the majority and degrade the covenant. Also, Thel being equal to an armoured Spartan is a canon citation. Read the Cole Protocol. Spartans without Mjolnir beating elites? Where? I don’t see any proof.
Elites would suck without grunts and jackals? Don’t make me laugh.
I’m not hating my own race. Im hating on the portrayal of alien races in Halo. All I want is some proper respect for them. Not just Elites, but ALL of the alien races.
You know, I didn’t dislike Spartans when I first started playing, but after years of disrespect, racism and insults, I can’t stand any further fanboyism/exaggeration of spartan ability.

I always play as An elite. Sanghelli were always a warrior race. They are and still are some of the best fighters in the universe. I good Sanghelli can easily take down a spartan. Were the cheif to fight thel vadam i would put my money on the arbiter any day. FOR SANGHELIOS!

it’s E3 2015, and after showing off some very successful campaign footage, revealing new details, and new trailers, 343 leaves us with one last video.
It begins by showing off a few Spartans duking it out in multiplayer combat (in an unspecified arena) We are shown one of the Blue Spartans running after a member of Red team, of whom he catches up to, proceeding with an assassination attempt. The maneuver is cut short a split second later when out of nowhere, a crimson clad Sangheili warrior tackles the Blue Spartan, pinning him to the ground. The Sangheili growls at him, activating his Energy Dagger and plunging it into the Spartan’s neck. The Elite stands, and issues forth a mighty roar. Responding to the call, a group of Sangheili from both sides sprint into battle, blades glowing ,and weapons blazing. After showing off some epic Elite vs Spartan action the screen cuts to black.
The crowd goes wild, fans cry tears of joy, and those of us back here who advocated their return; we rejoice. Our battle has been won, the war is over. But an end to one war does not single an end to all wars. For our fight is never finished. We shall continue to oppose all who would dare remove playable Elites from the multiplayer of Halo games for as long we have too.

I agree with this, the Humans and Elites are working together now anyways so it can fit into the game that way as well.
There is always MCC if you want to be an Elite.
