Sangheili (Elites) In New Trilogy Matchmaking (Part 1)

> And many of us are aware that 343 is not the best in terms of community communication, I mean, we are the prime example of that.

Thats not exactly True… with MCC they gave many features that the community had asked for years:

-Turret-less warthogs without the need of mods.

  • Multi colored energy swords
    -Silenced SMGs from ODST
  • Return of Hornets
    -Special forge features

There is much more but the biggest wish that 343 granted was allowing weapon lowering online after years of begging.

-We want Elites in MM 343.
-You would make the community so happy.
-This ones a no brainer.

Work with us not against us.

> 2533274839151243;9550:
> I think everyone missed the point. The build of a Spartan is completely different than an elite. The head is smaller and it’s harder to shoot from behind. H5 is supposed to be competitive and have everyone on the same playing field, which means no one has an advantage over another. Also, all of H5 is about “Immersion” and making the player FEEL like a SPARTAN. I find that to be a dumb reason for half the crap they’ve thrown into the game, but letting people play as Elites would completely destroy that plan. Not to mention that Elites with Spartan Abilities makes no sense. Elite Abilities, sure, like evade and the things from Reach, but not Spartan Abilities.
>
> I don’t know if the Elite Community has realized it as much as the competitive community, but 343 doesn’t really care about our wants. They care about selling the game to people who don’t really care about the game and just buy it because of the name. That’s how they plan on selling their game. They don’t need people to stick around for long periods of time and invest because they just want initial sales and they’re going to ride those until the series is dead.

Elites could be headshot from behind in Halo Reach and in classic Halo 2. They stood upright in Reach, and in Halo 2 they had much thinner armor/helmets, also exposing their heads, as well as the back of their necks, to a degree.

The only reason they weren’t enabled for standard play in Reach, is because they were given different traits and different health tables than Spartans.

Also, (not directed at you specifically) what’s all this stuff about hitboxes? A GOOD hitbox, is one that registers damage where you aimed at them, not one that registers where you didn’t shoot them… Giving Elites the same hitboxes as Spartans would be worse, if anything.

> Ya the Halo 4 zealot is probably one of my favorite elite armors along with the Reach ranger, minor/combat, and of course the Arbiter armor. I doubt they will make the Arbiter armor a customization option kind of like they don’t give chiefs newest armor as an option. I wouldn’t mind though. Keeps it kind of sacred I guess.

I will not allow the travesty that is Halo 4 Sangheili armor to remotely influence or be reintroduced into Halo 5.Has anyone seen the Halo 4 armor designs? The Warrior had a hole in his helmet,as if not enough material was used,Zealot,no,just no.Halo:Reach’s armor permutations look far better than Halo 4’s.The Reach variants of Zealot and Field Marshall do need to make a return, their aesthetics are much easier on the eyes than Halo 4’s.

Its inevitable that we will be sing the Elites witht hat armor. Unless they give them something like promethean armor.

I for one liked the direction 343 went with the elites (for the most part). Made the armor organic with a good amount of extra details. Reach’s elite armor was almost too smooth, not to say I don’t like them. I particularly like the H4 zealot armor because it’s organic and sharp. Plus I just love how they made a mediocre Reach armor and made it into something that I think looks way cooler (especially with the sides being big mandible guards and the claw on the foot). Seems like something from sangheilios rather than a covenant armory.

What I do think are complete abominations and should never have any influence on future elite designs are the H2A Elite armors. The first armor is a poor redesign of the classic minor armor with horizontal devil horns, and the other two look like you gave an elite a magnetic suit and rolled them around in a covenant scrap yard. seriously WTF?

I liked the H2A Elite armor. What I don’t like is how they’re rather buggy, with a few holes in both the Classic and Outrider armor and the helmet of Invader clipping into the inside of the mandibles. Not to mention the Elite eye textures being broken.

it makes sense to bring the sangheli back into multiplayer because if we are going after the lore of Halo there is a peace between humans and the elites for the most part. What if some elites worked togheter with spartans in combat?

No,don’t link that! My eyes can’t take much more! Well anyway, the designs we all see on Covenant ships and Covenant architecture are the use of organic shapes, curved and sleek,I think you meant geometric shapes in the description of the Halo 4 armor, perhaps they could give us a selection of armor from different eras, that would make everyone happy. But it would only make sense that if 343i were to come up with armor from the period Halo 5 takes place,it’d be back to the original forms of Halo:Reach.

there is no doubt about the difference between the Thel’s elites who are wearing a red and white set of armor and Jul’s faction.

E3 2015… Unveil Sangheili gameplay returning… 343 Industries MUST DO THIS!!!

The H4 elite armors still look pretty smooth to me, just with more layers and edges as a result, so a combination of organic and geometric. I am kind of worried about 343 going too organic with the whole covenant style though. Looking at the new covenant maps and the big giant scarab thing (can’t think of the name right now) look too much like insects with an exoskeleton. To me, the covenant vehicles never reminded me too much of bugs. Maybe tone it down just a hair so it still looks like a machine.

I really don’t think the H2A armors are as bad as I originally said, I just think they went in a bad direction. They aren’t streamlined and the last two are just too bulky. You bring up an interesting point about bringing in armors from another time period. I think it would be cool If we had armor somewhat similar to the arbiter armor to give us a glimpse into the Sangheilis original armor designs. Even the old version of the arbiter armor. Kind of like how spartans can use the old Mark V & VI armor.

There are two Covenant Factions. Storm Covenant, and Separatist Covenant. I think Storm is the one depicted in Halo 4, and Separatists are the Elites that broke away from the original Covenant. I could actually see Elites being possible in War Games, because the UNSC has an alliance with the Separatist Covenant, and they could make some negotiation where Elites are allowed to participate in War Games.

Agreed, if they make the elites playable it would be great.

Don’t let this topic go !
343 must see it.

How many times has this thing been necro’d?

The idea of a Sangheili necromancer doesn’t sound like a bad idea…kind of funny tbh with undead grunts swarming around him.

Not to mention they name their vehicles akin to Shades, Wraiths, Spirits, Phantoms, Ghosts, Banshees and Liches.

It’s only been 3/4 days, it’s not much of a necro.

Give us a custom game option at least. Machinimas need them
