Sangheili (Elites) In New Trilogy Matchmaking (Part 1)

> Elite master race, if 343 leaves out elites I don’t even wan’t to know how big the complaint thread will be after this one failed.

This thread was originally in the Halo 4 forum, it has failed before. But there is great hope for the future. The Sangheili community is unified in one thing: their demand to return to the next Halo game’s multiplayer. And for now that is enough.

I’d suggest a boycot on future halo games till we get elites back but we all know it wouldn’t work. I’ll just stick with halo mcc when it’s patched. Forget halo 5

As most of us know. One big reason Elites weren’t in Halo 4 was because multiplayer was supposed to be simulation training for Spartans. So, why would Spartans in training play as Elites? It wouldn’t make much sense to do it even real life. Now for Halo 5, to me, it still looks like the Spartans are in simulated training. The fact that multilayer is still being simulated training could be an issue when being able to play as Elites. Sadly, only time will tell.

Although I saw the cutscene were Thel and locke were standing and getting ready to fight. Could this hint some possibility?

No offense to 343 but Spartan armor permutations is not a enough for Elite players.

guess you missed out the escalation comics then.
because, in the first issue i believe, the spartans played some kind of invasion simulation on the infinity.
so yeah, canon isn’t an issue any more.

343i, we want our Elites back in matchmaking multi-player! Do not let us down!

I am really enjoying playing as an Elite again in MCC (the few times I have been able to play an actual game)
While I have fears of not being able to in Halo 5, I really hope 343i listens to the fans.

I would support both. Swords of Sangheilios (Thel 'Vadam) skin VS Storm (Jul 'Mdama) skin. Actually, given the lack of female Sangheili in combat, it would be a nifty alternative to selecting a gender.

Personally I don’t play as an elite, But I think it should be an option in game because, A) it is something a lot of people love. B) it added some variety and was cool to see.

Yeah I know, im well aware lol, but it will just keep growing.

Halo 2 Anniversary was a good start. Now go the rest of the way, 343industries.

I think the female sangheili don’t fight because elites have a very samurai like society, but I would love to see a choice for elite factions (swords of sangheilios ftw)

This must not fail again, the reason this failed on Halo 4 was because it actually wasn’t made with anticipation, but this one has years already so this time it must succeed.

I really and I think many others don’t care if the ‘‘WAR GAMES’’ are a training for Spartan IV, after all its just a game and its MULTIPLAYER for god’s sake.

The canon surrounding the games’ VR shtick is far from being solid, anyway. It doesn’t make any sense whatsoever when you start to think about it for a few seconds. Spartans are training to murder each other instead of Covenant stragglers and so forth? CANON. It doesn’t end there – all those crazy Custom Games you play with your buddies? CANON. The U.N.S.C training Spartans to play jenga? CANON. Spartans furiously t-bagging each other during important military training sessions? CANON. The jerks that run around betraying teammates and committing suicide to lower your team’s score? CANON. Squeakers, mic-spammers, and other local Xbox Live Wildlife? CANON. How about that one guy that said all those horrible things about your mom? CANON.
With those examples out of the way, I think it’s safe to say that it’d be perfectly fine to bring Elites back. The real issue is balancing - but that can be simply fixed by exclusively using Elites in specific playlists like invasion, or by making a slight adjustment to their necks/heads and scaling them appropriately for hitbox parity. There’s no valid excuses to keep them out of the mix, especially when the one narrative barrier keeping them away is dismantled by using your brain for a brief moment.

You know one of my favorite things in halo 3 matchmaking was finding other elite players. It was really cool and I appreciated the fact that diversity used to consist of more than just different colors and armor pieces. While I will be sorely dissapointed if the Sangheili do not come back in halo 5 I will still play the game and hope for better in the next game.

Honestly, even if the elites are in separate playlists I would be fine with it. Invasion was my favourite gametype anyway. Just as long as they are somehow playable.

Before MCC, I did have the somewhat fortunate pleasure of running into a full Sangheili clan…

…we got our -Yoink- pushed backwards (twice)

I really hope that they let you play as elites in the next game, it was always fun running into other elites on your team in halo 2 and 3.

I think with the new Spartan abilities and having to balance elites for multiplayer, they’d just be a gimmick. They were only in Halo 2 because there was no armor customization and in 3 because of tradition.

343i I want to be able to play as an Elite in Multiplayer.
My friends stopped playing Halo 4 ONLY BECAUSE there was No playable Elites in Multiplayer.

So Give us Elites…wait a second, people have also waited to play as a Brute since Halo 3…So give us Elites and Brutes
