Sangheili (Elites) In New Trilogy Matchmaking (Part 1)

> I honestly don’t think we will see Sangheili in the beta. That’s how it was in Halo 3’s beta, and Halo 3 was the high point for Elite players. This lack of exclusive armor for Elites via the MCC shouldn’t deter us.

True, The Sangheili barley had any exclusive armor in reach, so why would that be an issue now?

Looking back at that game pur picture. They either resized the elites to have them playable or Locke is freaking tall.

I will say this, Agent Locke is coming across to be pretty bad -Yoink-, I wonder how his working with the Sangheili will work out overall, especially if he’s on Sangheilios in the middle of a civil war.

(Perhaps his story can take us to go after Jul or Telcam)

Are you sure about all that? [Visors looked pretty dam good on Elites here.

And even if this were once a factor, the Sangheili are on the brink of shift in their society so is just another thing that they’re going to have to let go of if they’re going to survive in this new galaxy.

Is that an elite armor of a spec ops? I wonder if this will be an option for playable elites.

Fingers crossed.

I wonder whether the Sangheili will be in Halo 5 Guardians at all. The exclusive armour “Helioskrill” seems to resemble Sangheili armour so much, I think they are doing this because they don’t plan on bringing the Sangheili into Halo 5 Guardians, why have an armour that closely resemble Sangheili, but for a spartan. Perhaps they are trying to compensate.

That Spec Ops armor permutation does look quite nice with the visor. But save the Spec Ops and EVA variations will there be a impending trend of visors on all designs? I used to complain on how the Halo 4 Sangheili lacked sufficient armor,if this is they way armor will be designed in Halo 5 I say there is too much. For classes outside the aforementioned I wish for them to retained exposed mandibles and eyes, for it gives it a more organic feel.

And I believe the Sangheili allowed outside influence from Forerunners and Prophets as they were superior species. If the Forerunner style of design does influence Sangheili armor in Halo 5 I say it’d be interesting to see armor composed of organic and geometric shapes seemingly melded together.

I doubt that, They know we want the Elites to return in MP.

Wow, I can’t believe this thread is still going strong. Good to see. I don’t think we’ll see them in the beta, but I do hope they make a triumphant return in the final game, and with full customization too.

I wonder if that red and white elite standing with locke is going to replace the arbiter.

That’s the nicest Elite armor I’ve ever seen. Nice find. (343 Better have this type of customization degree for Elites.)

I will say this, all of us might as well start drawing and submitting our armor ideas on here, just because we can!

Or trying to have a canon reason to give Spartans exotic and samurai like armours.

It is pretty hard to ignore the biggest thread on Waypoint…which isn’t locked…

Ot: Just found the old fossil again!

Halo Reach style Elite players would be awesome! Invasion again or a Spartan Vs Elite slayer mode!

Yes,I do miss the halo:Reach style armor.Bungie did a really good job in working out the aesthetics of the armor sets, except the General armor, which looked very bulky and ungainly.Covenant Sangheili armor usually adopted a very streamlined look which gave them a much more welcoming appearance to Spartan armor.

Here’s to hoping we’ll get our beloved dinosaurs back in Halo 5. Even if 343 is still going with their whole ‘VR training’ shtick, they should still be added. It didn’t make a lick of sense that Spartans were training to fight each other when there’s Covenant stragglers and flood-forms still lurking in the dark recesses of the galaxy. Now that Master Chief and the Infinity have confronted Storm Covenant forces on Requiem, there’s no reasonable excuse for a VR program that excludes Elites. Or, alternatively, they could just drop the VR thing altogether, as it never really made sense to begin with. The otherworldly, unexplained context of the multiplayer maps in previous Halos did a great job of establishing a distinct atmosphere for each level, and a lot of that is tarnished when you realize it’s all some simulation. That goes double when you’re playing some ridiculous Custom Game. I don’t think the U.N.S.C would be particularly interested in teaching its soldiers how to play Jenga, after all.

TL;DR: We want our adorable dinosaurs back, and we didn’t really need a heavy-handed Virtual Reality explanation for multiplayer. Sometimes, less is more.

I personally want to see a more modernized Zealot armor from Combat Evolved.

No, not the thing we got in Annaversary where they used the Reach model. I mean an actual CE model modernized.

Particularly the helmet. The Zealot helmet in CE had much more pronounced “fins” that pointed out and up more than any of the other renditions.

Well, as the arbiter would say in Arby ‘n’ the Chief: “It’s a beta”

But I do hope 343 is listening in on this.

Got Halo: Broken Circle, reading through it now. So far it hasn’t been disappointing.
