Sangheili (Elites) In New Trilogy Matchmaking (Part 1)

I’m down with shrinking Sangheili down a bit. If people want some canonical spin to it. They can just say they’re adolescent Sangheili in training, as mentioned a few pages back.

I’d love to play as Elites in multiplayer.

> > > Why not just do the easy solution here and shrink the sangheili in multiplayer?

> > >

>
> Fortunately, loadouts are more-or-less gone by the confirmation of arena-style gameplay (I could be wrong, but 343 probably shouldn’t risk bringing them back). I think we should move toward Halo 2-3 style models: Almost the same, with one or two small differences. They should act more of a skin and less of a Tactical-Package effect.

We’ll see.

Your point being what exactly? As you can tell, it surely does mean a lot to people.

Sense the multiplayer for Halo 2 is coming back for the MCC this could function as a test to see how the size of Elites will work.

And Halo 3. Which was slightly better because armor permutations. Variety’s nice.

Perhaps I’m just blind, but the size and shape of the Elites in Halo 2 look the same as they do in Halo 3. Kind of like the Spartans, the biggest change between them to me is just cosmetics. Though I haven’t had the most experience in Halo 2, so I could be wrong.

I mean in terms of gameplay, but I agree.

I heard there wasn’t a complaint about the elites in Halo 2 (as far as I know) but I want to ask you Halo 2 players (including the Spartan players) How were the Elites in Halo 2.

Oh, indubitably. I’m just pointing out I’d expect to see just as many Elites in Halo 3 as Halo 2. Possibly more, given the aforementioned armor perm system (plus more weapons and the like than its predecessor, really).

Most of that can be thanked with what they added to it.

Chances of this happening is unlikely. Yet…how would you react if in the MCC that 343 got playable Elites in H4?

Without a doubt.

> Chances of this happening is unlikely. Yet…how would you react if in the MCC that 343 got playable Elites in H4?

The only way to make that work would be a system that’d use one player model across each multiplayer, which probably wouldn’t happen. Then again, none of us know what 343i’s plans are in that department.

> Chances of this happening is unlikely. Yet…how would you react if in the MCC that 343 got playable Elites in H4?

Couldn’t care less because Halo 4 is the worst of the 3. I’d rather not play it at all regardless of Elites being playable.

> Chances of this happening is unlikely. Yet…how would you react if in the MCC that 343 got playable Elites in H4?

I would say “Why didn’t they do this before?!” but then I would be happy.

Elites will only be in Halo 2 and 3 maps I think,

Since the multiplayer runs in each games’ original engines, Elites will only be available in Halo 2, Halo 3, and the Anniversary Engine.

The fact that they are available in the Anniversary Engine is the first big hint that they could return again in Halo 5, so long as you’re strictly speaking speculation. As the Anniversary Engine is a modification of Halo 4’s engine, not Halo 2’s, meaning the Elites are being modelled for it from scratch and real work is being put in to please Elite fans.

The only big hint that they WONT return in Halo 5 is “Spartan Abilities”, but I could see this not really meaning much, as just ‘jumping’ and ‘assassinating’ is considered a Spartan Ability in Halo 5.

I think they will call it something else for Elites.

To me, “Spartan Abilities” seems like a preliminary name. It doesn’t sound serious enough to be final.

But if it is, I’m pretty sure it’s like that because it makes the most sense. “Player Abilities” or “Spartan-and-Elite Abilities” aren’t the logical choices. I would have no problem being an Elite with Spartan Abilities.

All we can do is keep chatting about it and crossing our fingers.

I never really played as an elite in H3 but I would love to see them back. Nice for diversity plus I want to see invasion return.
