I wanna see different armor that the Separatists will wear not any Storm armor!

A neat idea would be to replace visor color with Sangheili ethnicity: this would be Anniversary purple, Halo 3 brown, Reach dark, Halo 4 tan and scaly, and whatever else 343 comes up with.
>
> Could it work? Cosmetically? Yes, especially if there was a helmetless option. Canonically? Yes, I believe so. We’ve seen three races of Kig-Yar, and I think it was mentioned somewhere that Sangheili ethnicity was a thing.
Being able to choose ethnicity would be awesome, and I would really feel connected to my Elite as he is now personalized. However, I plan on using a sealed helmet, meaning it could possible be neutralized. But if certain other parts of the Elite’s skin were showing (fingers, toes, shoulders, etc.), then it could work. But if it’s just the face, then maybe we could choose the color of our lights instead.
I say lights and the visors as well. Mix of Reach and H3 Armor for customizations? I would love that!
But I like to see new Sangheili armor anyway as well like in the comics thus far.
> We need new emblems one Separatists group and the other Storm faction.
The Mark of Shame and the Didact’s Hand emblems would work nicely here. I love the Mark of Shame emblem, it’s a shame (oops) it didn’t make a return for 4.
Choosing our Elite’s ethnicity would be an interesting variable. It seems unlikely but it would definitely be cool. I wonder if they would make an equal and opposite set of options for the IV’s.
Imagine assasinating an enemy while playing as Thel? I can’t even imagine what badass animations they could make for him. Assasinating anyone while playing as a Sangheili would be awesome, as long as they make their attack look brutal and fast, like a warrior trained from birth would be.

As long as we’re not forced to look like the skimpy H4 Elites, but still get to kill them, I’ll throw money at my screen to make it happen.

I think we will be playing as Thel’s Elites. So we won’t be looking like that.

It would be a very smart idea if they made the Separatist Elites(arby) look almost immediately distinguishable from the ‘Pirate’ Covenant.
That way I can wipe out those blemishes of Sanghellios.

Mark of Shame is a good one that should come back I wanna see it return. That emblem I wear on H2 and H3. That one should come back or a new emblem for Separatists. I like to know if there is an emblem 343 designed for just that group. Didacts hand yes perfect for the Storm faction.
reads that part Assassinations…as Elites with new animations! O

Now the next question is what can we do about some new Weapons?
> Now the next question is what can we do about some new Weapons?
Personally, I think the current roster is fine. But, I think the Storm using some “Promethean-ified” Covenant weapons would not only make sense, but it could also help differentiate the two sides.
> Now the next question is what can we do about some new Weapons?
Well lets see… What’s on my list?
The NR should come back as a primary definitely and sidearm wise I can’t stress enough how much I’d like to see a Needle pistol. And some armor that has needles strapped across it like bullets would be awesome.
The PR should come back as a replacement for the Bolt shot.
I’d love to see the CE Plasma pistol make a comeback. It’d solve so many issues.
That new type of Plasma grenade that Fos was talking about would be grand. The one that only becomes sticky a short time after it’s been thrown. And giving us just the one at spawn couldn’t hurt either.
A Needle turret to replace that useless Plasma one would be nice.
The Plasma launcher needs to come back, It shouldn’t have ever left.
An SR that actually behaves like a proper plasma weapon would be great.
If any weapon is going to get a redesign/replacement akin to the SR replacing the PR then it should be the Needler. A beefier meaner version to make it just as intimidating as the SAW would be marvelous.
I’d also like a whole new type of power weapon to be implemented. EMP power weapons. A Focus rifle with an EMP effect could fit that nicely but maybe it should have less range. MAP PICKUPS ONLY!
But I’m asking for too much.
> Now the next question is what can we do about some new Weapons?
Dunno, but you guys should totally get the Plasma Rifle back as a Primary next to the Sturmgewehr. Plasma Repeater could come back as a skin for the Storm Rifle.
Regarding the “multiplayer is canon” issue…
I feel like you could still have Elites in MM and still have it be canon. I’ve mentioned this before in this thread, I believe, and I made note that Arbiter’s loyal Elites could be helping the Spartans train in simulations.
You could have the “hunched” Elites for those scenarios, and the taller, Reach style Elites for Invasion type scenarios, as the War Games simulator can display Elites (or go a step beyond and have the Invasion gametype be actual engagements, whereas War Games is just the training, but that’s a different topic.)
I like the multiplayer being canon, and would like it to continue being so. Elites can definitely fit into that style, though. I can see it being where when you start multiplayer, you get to choose if you’ll go through the Spartan ranks or the Elite ranks, and once you finish one, you can start the other and then freely change between the two. Something simple like that.

That’s almost exactly what I was going to say
We kinda need Elites, playing as Spartans 24/7 gets kind of boring, I think the Elites would refresh things for a while
This guy had an idea I think may work.
https://forums.halowaypoint.com/yaf_postst243398p2_How-To-Make-Playable-Elites-Work.aspx
He should post it here.
I think it will be great if the storm variants shot red plasma if they were promethia-fied.
> I think it will be great if the storm variants shot red plasma if they were promethia-fied.
Impossible since the Brute Plasma Rifle has that red plasma as it’s ammo. The Didact is letting the Storm faction use his weapons to fight against humanity. They will probably use them until they figure out how to make their own Promethean version but Covenant Storm version.

Thank you for that. Unfortunately, they took my thread down. And I call -Yoink-, because my theead is about how Elites should be brought back, not a petition to bring them back. Regardless, I’ll post it here. And probably add links later.
> How to Make Playable Elites Work
>
> …based on my personal point of view.
>
> Two points. First of all, Halo: Reach crippled the concept of Elites in multiplayer, both through segregated playlists and armor sets (which will come up later). Reason? Because they were larger, faster, and stronger. In Halo 2/3, the idea worked because the Sangheili matched the Spartans in every way but size, and this was solved by giving the former a hunched-over stance, which essentially let both models use the same hitbox. This could be brought back… for male Elites. For females, as I’m sure the Elite community has girls somewhere, the Reach stance would return, but the model would be scaled down to Spartan-size. Now, because I’m sure MJOLNIR GEN2 would give humans Sangheili-standard stats, we have made the decision to play as an Elite completely and totally cosmetic, without making them a larger, easier target.
>
> Second, cosmetics. Halo 4 had extremely extensive Spartan customization (even though most of it looked like crap, but that’s another matter). There’s no reason why 343i can’t design an equally extensive armory for the Elites, especially given the capabilities of the XBox One. Now, let’s assume, because 343i wants multiplayer to be canon, that playable Elites are loyal to Thel 'Vadam. For this reason, you’ll want them to be easily distinguishable from Jul 'Mdama’s Storm faction. Therefore, most of the armor available for Elites should be based on the armor seen in Halo 3 and Reach, although I’m sure there would be some who would love to use the Hesduros-designed armor (which would be satisfied by the Sangheili Storm variant). And with this comes an idea I’m rather fond of. We have seen four different “races” of Sangheili: the pale-purple, split-jawed monkeys of Anniversary; the fierce, dark-skinned soldiers in Reach; the scaled, reptililian fanatics in Halo 4; and what I’ve been referring to in my head as a Bull Elite, seen in Halo Wars. And then note that the only Elite helmets with a real visor belong to Rangers, and they’re always blue. So what I’m suggesting is, in place of a selection of visors for Elites, there are a short selection of ethnicities consisting of what I mentioned earlier and whatever other design 343i may come up with. Coupled with an option to be helmetless (which could work, as any vaccuum-themed maps in War Games are only simulations anyway), I think it would be a glorious feature to add.

i think it has been already mentioned a few times, but if not,
i’m mention it now…
i don’t want to spoiler anyone who is about to read the Escalation-Comic
in the near future, so i put it in a Spoiler.
in the first escalation comic,
spartans palmer & team jackknife are fighting
against elites, but not real ones, but as a part
of the infinity’s war games.
that’s why i think it is even canon wise possible
to put elites into war games match making

I’d rather actual Elites be brought in. If canon is supposed to make me feel like what I’m doing matters, I’d rather be a real being doing things, not an A.I. for Spartans to kill.
Elites of course need to return, as this super thread that has survived on front pages for so long clearly shows.
As I’ve said many times this “Multiplayer is canon” excuse holds no water. Elites in matchmaking can either be loyalists to the Arbiter and thus humanity’s allies, or they could simply be synthetic and part of the simulation, controlled by combat AI’s that are programmed to behave as elites.
As for how to make them work I suggest Callsing FENRIR’s post. Sorry about your thread btw, it really should have been left where it was and unlocked as your purpose was different regardless of the the theme being the same.
