Sangheili (Elites) In New Trilogy Matchmaking (Part 1)

I want elites back so bad.

But to be honest, I’ve given up hope on their return. 343 just seems so dedicated this -Yoinking!- “Infinity multiplayer” experience. Woopdy-doo, I’m a spartan on the Infinity… yaaaay.

I totally understand that you have to try new things and take risks. But completely removing an entire race of player models, ESPECIALLY after people were mad about how Bungie didn’t allow elites in standard Reach multiplayer?

Just doesn’t make sense to me.

Not a whole lot of “listening to the community,” huh? I refuse to believe that they just misinterpreted Bungie’s intentions with Reach’s playlists. I might believe they ran out of time, but they haven’t said anything about that. Just how multiplayer is canon now, and nevermind the opportunities that would’ve offered them. Like 'Vadam’s Seperatists. Humans have been fairly friendly with the Arbiter’s people, yes?

Of course they have after the Halo 4 events that ended. Read the Escalation series. Arbiter and the UNSC along with the Jiralhane are trying to make peace for all three species. So pretty much the Arbiter is like a peacemaker to try and stabilize both Covenant(excluding the Storm faction) and humans. We need more stories or comics before Halo 5 comes out which btw I’m positive there will be. I like to read more what will happen before we play Halo 5 next year.

Right now my mind is blown on one topic I just read.

Books, preferably. Karen Traviss has proven herself to be a better writer than whoever did Spartan Ops, but it would be nice to see Nylund write another Halo book.

If Sangeili are brought into the new series’ multiplayer, the animations would be awesome. The sprint animation should be interesting too, how did it look in Reach?

I wonder how the Elites would look in H2A. Would they resemble the Reach elites or Halo 4 elites? Or somewhere in between?

> Books, preferably. Karen Traviss has proven herself to be a better writer than whoever did Spartan Ops, but it would be nice to see Nylund write another Halo book.

Karen Traviss is one of my current favorites. Love her work in Star Wars.

Anyway, yeah I think we should get to be “split-jaws” again if we so decide. Wouldn’t hurt to be a Brute either since they’re like Elites and Spartans too, just a foot taller. And you know, all gorilla like.

I think they would make Elites less menacing on that part.

God I hope they don’t look like H4 Elites. Yuck. Can’t even call those Elites, they’re just straight up lizards.

> God I hope they don’t look like H4 Elites. Yuck. Can’t even call those Elites, they’re just straight up lizards.

I agree with you right there. The H4 ones just look aweful. I don’t mind what the skin or their face looks like hell they look like saurians which they are, but the armor is just aweful as hell. I don’t want to see that armor in Halo 4 at all. I wanna see different armor that the Separatists will wear not any Storm armor!

Keep the storm armor for the AI Elites

we need to keep the good and bad Elites as distinguishable in armor as possible

Agreed we don’t want people confused at all. I dont mind if my oc kills Storm Covies while wearing a different armor of the Separatists group. Since there’s two Covie factions one with the UNSC and one with Didact, there should be emblems for people to wear to show which side you are on while being an Elite. We need new emblems one Separatists group and the other Storm faction. However I don’t mind mods for AI Storm Covies to be in Custom Games as body actors like in Reach then we can make Machinimas and screenshots of our own story as Elites. Or in Firefight the Storm faction can be enemies along side a wave with who else is the enemy in the game. Ither one both are good on making Machinimas and screenshots.

I like the idea there to.

One way to do this could be to give storms a Promethean style Armor.

> One way to do this could be to give storms a Promethean style Armor.

If Jul does that then the other Covenant would be pissed about it which I’m sure they already know about this. Not only that Jul is breaking a Covenant law that all Covenant agree when they got alot more information about the Forerunners. In the old Covenant the law if anyone was to use a Forerunner technology of any sort, it would mean genocide against the species. Jul is putting his people and the other Covenant at risk however there is a solution to this. Arbiter could call and tell other Covenant species out there what Jul is doing with Forerunner technology. Covenant will be pissed and shocked at the news. Some are going to be scared that their planets will be glassed however with no Prophets ordering this the Arbiter will call the shots by discussing with other leaders. In this case, Arbiter could put a bounty on the Storm Covenant. Each one could be captured or dead but the ones killing or capturing the Storm will be paid. You know what that means. Kig-yar are famous for being pirates and they will do anything that has to do with money. If the Kig-yar in the Storm faction find out they will start a rebellion and kill Jul and his men for himself. However it depends if they will since their lives are at steak. The Storm faction is small but with them using Forerunner technology could spell trouble for both UNSC and Separatists. Arbiter would have to find a solution to stop Jul since they are using Forerunner technology and he needs that help from Infinity who knows more about this.

Exactly. Give the Storm holographic lights and really flashy armor, while the Separatists older, more efficient-looking armor. More Sangheili players (myself included) preferred the older style armor, and humans would recognize the armor of the Elites that helped them save the galaxy.

I would say the Storm should go and stay with the old armor cause that’s what they are wearing right now is old scrap armor. As for the Separatists they should stick with H3 looking armor but new look. Separatists have new rank names and the Storm stay the same. That way no one will get confused on what to call the new rank in the Separatists group. Both factions should have their own emblem as well like the UNSC and ONI does that way everyone can identify who’s the enemy and who is friendly.

I like the theory, but the “No tech usage” was a rule of the old Covenant, meaning some species wouldn’t care. Plus, all species of the Covenant have gone their separate ways, and following an old rule might not seem like the wisest thing to do. To me, I can’t see Brutes getting back into the fight unless Arby uses a convincing argument. It could work, and I wouldn’t have a problem accepting it if it became truth, but it hinges on some lose nails.

Beside that, Jul doesn’t a flying truck about any rules. If it destroys Thel and the humans then he would go for it.

Well said. Jul doesn’t care at all what happens to his people if he breaks a rule in the Covenant that all Covenant agree on that’s been passed down from generation to generation. Jul doesn’t give two yoink about his people when they touch a holy weapon. All Jul cares about is wiping out humanity like the Didact does. Hell I bet he doesn’t care if the Flood is released and wipes out every living species in the galaxy just so he can win and rid of humanity. This is why I don’t like Jul. He’s a terrorist Sangheili, which btw brings shame to Sangheili and his bloodline. He only cares about winning and exterminating humanity. He doesn’t care what happens to his people on Sangheilios or his family. I hope that in H5, Jul gets to die by ither Elite player or a Spartan character.

Jul’s a bad guy, but his ability to think outside the box makes him cunning. I personally like Jul, as I think he has an interesting backstory, and the villain of any story always fascinate me. And he doesn’t use Forerunner tech because he’s a terrorist. He uses them because he has figured out the Forerunners weren’t Gods, and doesn’t feel he needs to place anymore value on them than what their creators intended for them. I wouldn’t want him to be an ally, and I will kill him if need be, but as a character, I do respect him.

This can be done. Bring back Halo 3’s and Reach’s and make them customizable (plus a few Storm variants, because I’m sure someone will want them). A neat idea would be to replace visor color with Sangheili ethnicity: this would be Anniversary purple, Halo 2/3 brown, Reach dark, Halo 4 tan and scaly (weird mandibles included), and whatever else 343 comes up with.

Could it work? Cosmetically? Yes, especially if there was a helmetless option. Canonically? Yes, I believe so. We’ve seen three races of Kig-Yar, and I think it was mentioned somewhere that Sangheili ethnicity was a thing.
