Bungie tried this ODST was supposedly a team of elites before again large fan complaints changed it to ODST’s.

Did not know that. Would have been cool. Makes sense with the dead Elites in that one courtyard and other places…would have had some good dialogue there.
If not in multiplayer then hopefully in customs and maybe even firefight.

A lot of things was removed thanks to community complaints. That’s why many developers say gamers don’t know what they want. Since most gamers cry and moan when things don’t go their way. Only to want to see it return of the things they wanted removed in the next installment. Hints why dual welding, elites, vehicle play have been removed or changed.

I was thinking. In previous games, your Spartan and your Elite shared a color scheme. If Elites were brought back, would you want different colors for both species? (i.e., Your Spartan could be White and Blue and your Elite could be Steel and Red.)

I would be down for that, would save me some time in the long run.

I’d prefer a system where I can keep copies of multiple armor, colour, emblem and species combinations.
So I can quickly switch between a green Spartan CQB that I made and saved earlier to a red Elite Spec ops that I have saved and then to a blue Spartan Warmaster.
From there I’ll make a completely new combination with out loosing the three that I already made and I can go back to my files and bring up and use one of those three that I saved at any time. After making the new combination I can save that one too.
Maybe we could even put the saved combinations in our file share. It’d make Machinima easier for sure. It’d make switching between different characters easier and body actors could just download the armor that the director wants them to wear instead of having to make it themselves and possibly make a mistake.

Well, the new Minecraft Mashup pack has been announced, and many Elite skins have been shown. From common ones like the Arbiter, to unexpected apperances like Sesa 'Rufamee (the Heretic Leader). Personally, I have been waiting for an Arbiter skin since there were preliminary pictures a year or two ago. For anyone getting the pack, what skin are/would you use?

I think its just the calm before the storm. E3 is just a few weeks away and I’m expecting good news from 343. So far, they have done a good job of listening to the community. The forums are the most direct way to communicate with the community, and this thread has been around since before Halo 4 and grown to over 400 pages. I don’t think 343 can ignore this. the community has obviously shown their support for playable elites and I like to believe that 343 will have already started implementing this into H5.
I’m also looking forward to a Halo 2 anniversary being announced at E3. If this does happen, we will get playable elites in match making as well as the arbiter campaign segments. Cant wait to see Thel on next gen.

Same on all of this. I can’t help but feel that once we get to see what’s in store, (positive or negative,) this topic will once again be abuzz with chatter. It seems like we’ve discussed everything possible for now (including my previous post, which I apologize for the lack of relevancy), and with the only thing to hope for being in two weeks, it seem natural to sit and wait. Regardless, if anyone would like to say anything to keep this thread active, feel free to chime in.
Well since I’m back from all the college and being away on the forums for a while, hearing about Halo 5 and hoping for Elites to be playable again I am really looking forward to E3 and later on in winter to hear more information about the game. I hope 343 is watching and hearing us. I really want to play as an Elite again. All these opinions by you guys should be heard and with great ideas too. For what I like to see on Elites is two things: New Armor and New Weapons. Since the Sangheili Separatists are apart from the Storm, I think they should have new weapons and armor so people wouldn’t get confused. This includes vehicles as well. We all know Arbiter told his men to paint their Phantoms green so UNSC wouldn’t get confused on who’s friend and foe. The vehicles should be painted green. For armor they should change including ranks. The Zealot rank is part of Storm Covenant but I wouldn’t mind if it is still part of the Separatists but with a different look on the armor or be called different. Still though, we need armor ranks for the Separatists group. Which ones stay, which ones go and what the name of the ranks will be since they will change it.
I like to see the Elite armors in H5 be obtainable just like in H3 or H4. If they involve points to get the armors or weapons, that’s fine. I also don’t mind the skins ither the skins in H4 are epic and it’s hard to decide your favorite. However I like to see the cloak that the Arbiter wears. If Elites are playable again, you should include the cloak as a exclusive or a hard achievement to get. Arbiter armor is out of the question since everyone knows why and no one should ask for that armor. I agree what the Bungie team said about the armor and I hope 343 doesn’t include the Arbiter armor in H5.
So 343…please include and bring back playable Elites. :>

It is apparently number 3 on almost everyone’s list.
The Sanghelli added a lot of variety to the game, H3 was my first and it was awesome to just look up as a Spartan and see your buddy as an elite going side by side into battle shooting down some poor sap from a few meters away!
PLEASE BRING EM BACK!I miss em! I hope we can be able to play as tem in matchmaking without having to worry about Elite Slayer.
YEs 343 bring us back the Elites even Spartan players want them back.
