‘Cool story, bro’.
Reach happened, and it is canon. Bungie had a right to break pre-established canon, and many series do that all the time. So, them suddenly focusing on Noble Team and Reach was perfectly allowed.
Thus, it’s entirely possible that a Zealot killed Noble Six, because he existed in the Halo Lore. His date of death is listed, and he is an actual character, along with the rest of Noble Team, whether you like it or not. That said, precious few witnessing Noble Team (A Classified team, by the way, one most considered wholly Spartan-II if they were uninformed) and run some of the most unknown, Black-Ops operations in the Human-Covenant War, despite being visible within the Civilian Eye.
That said, they received no memorial when they died, no burial. The only survivors to know they even existed are top brass, ONI, and the Spartan Branch of the UNSC.
Now, more on topic; How powerful should campaign elites be?

Nothing beats bagging Spartans as a dinosaur!

I don’t -Yoink!- either. If someone got me mad I just throw a grenade at them.
One thing is certain. If they add Elites that will make me very happy.
If they can add Spartans, Elites, and a third playable race that will be even better.
> …Now, more on topic; How powerful should campaign elites be?
They need to be buffed in some sort of way. They just weren’t threatening in H4. Rather than have elites weaker than prometheam knights, make them play differently. I have noticed that elites are easier to take out with precision weapons while knights are easier to kill with an automatic weapon. I think 343 should just expand on this.
One thing I think should be done is to give Elite armor no visible rank attached to it.
In Reach, armor was ranked from lowest to highest, from Minor to Field Marshal (lets leave Officer out of this, as it isn’t in the standard game.) I choose to use the Spec Ops because it looks the coolest to me, and I like the idea of my Elite being a specialist. However, because of the tier-ed armor, people question why I choose such a low ranking armor.
The reason I suggest the removal of ranked armor is because it limits creativity. In Halo 3, the only other game with Elite customization, all armor was specialized (Combat for soldiers, Assault for heavy weapons, Flight for pilots, Ascetic for religiously-pure, and Commando for solo-ops) meaning you could choose what you wanted based on looks, not names. In Reach, you almost felt pressured into having higher ranking armor because you didn’t want to be associated with those lacking skills. When you’re a Ranger on a team of all Generals, you feel kinda lower because you use an armor used by simple infantry.
Could you imagine if a popular helmet like EVA was renamed “Corporal” and Pioneer was named “General”? Everyone would choose Pioneer because it’s labeled as a helmet top-brass, and those with armor that looks good would be criticized for their choice.
What are your thoughts?

So much win ^.

They could bring back ranked armors and bring along specialist armors along with that. So you could have the helm of a field marshall and the shoulders of a commando.

What does it matter what people think? If you liked the standard armor in Halo 3 and wore it you would still be judged. Reach is not the only game where people will critique your look.
You say it promotes creativity, but what about Campaign? I thought Halo 2 and 3 had boring Elites because most of them used the same armor. The visual variation in the other games makes things more interesting.
Halo CE- Standard units had two types of helmets. The standard “shark-like” helmet and the curved helmet. Specialists and Zealots had pronounced shoulder pads and helmets. It was not a whole lot, but it made things less boring.
Halo: Reach/CEA- There is a different armor for every rank. It is just far more visually appealing.
Halo 4- Similar to Reach/CEA. The main difference is that each rank is assigned a random color. It does not mean anything but to add variety.
Just because armor is tied to rank or title does not mean you can not be creative. Reach just lacked customization. Hopefully you will have more freedom in the next game.
I also have to say I want some awesome assassinations for the Sangheili.
> I also have to say I want some awesome assassinations for the Sangheili.
Elites have always had the coolest assassinations in my eyes. I want one where the Elite lifts the Spartan in the air by the neck, then kills him. What did you have in mind?
Oh my gosh…same but I want him to stab them through the chest and chuckle that -Yoink!- chuckle they do then throw the spartan to the side.
I’d like to see a punch to the face and a spinning back hand energy dagger slash to the throat.
Maybe a gut punch then a hook ( hard enough that its lethal )
What about an assassination like an elite lifting a spartan/another elite player in horizontal position over their head and break they’re spine over their knees?
How about the elite assassination goes like this…
"wort wort wort "
Then the Spartan or Elite will fly into outer space or disintegrate.
But really I would like one where you pull plasma daggers out of both arms then one dagger arm hits the other player on their knees causing them to fall, then the other dagger right in their helmet!
> What about an assassination like an elite lifting a spartan/another elite player in horizontal position over their head and break they’re spine over their knees?
That would look quite epic…have the Elite do a victory yell as they lift the Spartan in the air.

Just gonna check that off in my little notebook of ideas
> What about an assassination like an elite lifting a spartan/another elite player in horizontal position over their head and break they’re spine over their knees?
“When you’ve seen the Halo Array in ashes, then you have my permission to die.”

Who stated that?
