I actually think that we have a really good chance of getting playable elites back in halo 5. 343 cant simply ignore a thread like this that has been going on so long and strong. This has to be the one of the top threads in all the forums. It shows just how much we , the fans, loved the idea of being able to play as our favorite aliens. Just hang in there guys.

Firefight on the One could be a lot better than the 360 versions. We could have the possibilities of giant maps like forge world filled with enemies where we could play different ways as Elites. We could hold out against endless flood, fight Spartans as Remnant, or fight besides Spartans as allied Sangheili against Remnant.

Halo 4 still has some fun aspects to it, it’s just that 343 attempted to change it into another game rather than build on it and change only the parts that needed the change, like adding in players when a team needs some cause one left. If the Elites do come back to Halo 5 they should definitely have equal customization to Spartans. What is concerning though is how 343 will want to balance Elites to Spartans in order to allow them to play together equally in all playlists. This is something they should definitely make a part of a beta and allow us players to test and give feedback. Therefore they can make necessary changes so that everyone can be happy. Then Elites will not only be equal in customization but also in ability to be played as.

Maybe we could have a battle cry which Spartans can’t have…like ’ Wort wort wort’?
In my opinion, Halo 3 Elites were the best looking in the franchise. I loved their armor and anatomy. The Elites looked especially good in the cutscenes i.e. Rtas 'Vadumee.

Same here. I loved how the armor was the perfect blend of elegance and efficiency. I also loved how their mandibles moved when they spoke. In Reach, they just looked off to me. If Elites do make a return, I hope they follow a similar style to what we saw in Halo 3.
Quick question to everyone: If you could choose one Elite armor set from any previous Halo to be brought to the next game, which set would you want?
Personally, I’d love to see Ascetic return. I always wanted it, but never could because it was almost impossible to get. If it was brought back with an easier prerequisite, I’d wear it for sure.

I liked the Halo 3 style, but the Reach one may look off due to their ‘shrinking’ to balance them out…or would you rather prefer a hunched over dino?

I really liked the Halo 4 Zealot armour and was really bummed out that I couldn’t wear it

I was talking about the Reach Elites’ mandible movement in terms of being off. To me, height/structure size I thought was fine with. Sorry for the poor wording.

Ohh, well my decision there still stands.

The new canon element of Multiplayer has nothing to do with the lack of Elites. It limits nothing.

Honestly I want it to be like halo 3 EXCEPT I HATED THE HUNCHED BACKS.
Honestly the reach elites are awesome…just make their char model shrunk…I do not care if they are actually taller then that I just want them to look good while being balanced.
They do not have to tower over spartans in slayer CTF etc they can be the same size.
BUT if invasion returns in that playlist let them be taller and have special traits.(the special traits would apply to both sides though.)

Definitely Honour Guard. The Assault harness and “General” armour sets are also two more of my favourites.
I hope there’s a variant that allows us to have a helmet-less character model, similar to the “Lights of Sanghelios” in Halo 2.
Does anyone else prefer the straight mandibles from Halo 2/ 3? The curved mandibles just don’t look right in my opinion.
I liked the elites from Reach, but i absolutely hated how they looked when holding the energy sword. Halo 3 wins in that department i’m afraid.

Bungie never made that an objective, I doubt 343 would too. Plus if 343 is still going for this whole “Infinity simulation” thing still, then it would be really stupid for the humans to give the elites on Infinity experience in killing humans.

The Elites had a more noble feeling in the way they stood in Reach which makes them more relatable to their honor code, the hunchbacks from Halo 3 still had an air of nobility but the hunch was just out of place. I guess 343 said that they’re making Halo 5 have more of a traditional gameplay experience in MM(gameplay like Halo 3 I’m guessing) which sounds like a great idea.

I preferred the mandibles from Halo 2/3. The ones from 4 were strange looking and made the Elites face look unusual, especially how up they were being right next to the eyes.

They could make a new customization of how avatars would hold weapons so you could hold the energy sword a variety of ways.

Not really. Humans could start another rebellion and that would give immediate cause for allied Elites to kill humans.

Well for me, I rather have my Spec-Ops armor from Reach. Sure, I didn’t enjoy the game as much as I have with the other classic Halo’s, but at least the armor looked pretty slick and made the stealth units look rather deadly to face.
I’m in support of Elites coming back in H5 with customization on par with the SIVs. the only thing that can pose a problem is we need a canonical reason for them. As we know the Arbiter has a treaty with the UNSC so the forces loyal to the Arbiter can possibly be integrated into human civilizations as a “client” species. what you guys think?

Or, the Elites become “honorary Spartans” if Arby and his forces team up with humans, or something like that.
