Sangheili (Elites) In New Trilogy Matchmaking (Part 1)

Good things are coming

I kind of wish you asked something that could be answered. Like:

“As a member of Halo’s Elite Community, and a frequent poster on the 410 page ‘Sangheili/Elites in the new trilogy Matchmaking’ I think we all need to ask, have you even noticed us, and have you considered/are you at least considering bringing Elites back as a playable character model?”

At the very least, the questions “Have you noticed us”, and “Are we at least being considered” are answerable. Questions like “What plans do you have for ______”, or “Will _____ appear in Halo Xbox One” won’t be answered because that would be spoilers, and the game’s still in fairly early development and anything can change or be cut out.

I’m not a representative of anything, and it was my question. So if you wanted an answer like that to have been asked, why not do it yourself? You did had your chance. Also, I wasn’t too sure if the question was going to be answered anyways so I was just pretty much lucky.

So , one thing i dont understand, even if there is good news, Its still bad news?
Cmon community, we have to at least apreciate the fact the one of our largest questions (have we been taken into acount, and have we been recognized) was answered with an affirmative. So the chances are no longer so small in our eyes, this is a not a step towards victory, but a battle that has been won. But we have yet to win the war, so brothers, let us continue at what we have done in the previous battle in order to enjoy the final victory, Who is with me!

Honestly I had no idea the event was even going on. I’ve been so out of the loop for a while.

And while you’re not a representative of the Elite community, you are one of us. I’ve seen the same mistake made over and over whenever someone asks about Elites. They jump straight to information that simply won’t be answered due to spoilers or game development status. So the best way to get around to the point is to ask around it. Whether or not 343i even pays attention to our chunk of the community for one has been in complete outcry.

It’s not you specifically I’m pointing out here, it’s all of us. These are the questions we will get real answers out of, instead of just the same vague crap we got throughout the development of both Reach and Halo 4.

@Saifa: That’s the thing, that question was not answered. All that we were given was a vague “Anything can happen” (Paraphrasing but that’s exactly what the answer we were given means)

So, yea, technically, elites being playable is part of anything that could happen. ;). But we still arent there yet, and remember what happened with halo 4 where we put our input too late, and so we lost our chance, so im trying to step up this argument a bit (not that it isnt already succecful) and make our elite voice be heard (aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrgghhh)or wort and put elites back in game (wort---->go) (wort wort wort-----> go, go go)

Kaine, good news,I think the Sangheili are taking the spotlight. We are getting more attention from the community, and people are showing their desire to include Sangheili in Halo Xbox One.Your question to Frank O’Connor was featured in a video by Halo5 Follower.

Frank did say that they’re doing “a lot” with Elites. While there is a high probability that this means the return of Elites to multiplayer there is also the probability this may not be the case and Elites are only going to be seen within campaign. Though Frank did say earlier on that 343 will pay more attention to the community, and the community of Sangheili want to play as Elites. Now we can assume that Elites will be added to multiplayer and begin voicing what we would like to see from them in future Halos. I personally would like the Elites head to be pointed directly upward instead of hunched forward 90 degrees, it gives more sense of a proper warrior plus it has gameplay balance. Of course we could have Elites in multiplayer taller than Spartans but taking on a martial stance, lowering their balance point and height whilst moving their forward 45 degrees or less so their head is still visible from behind. Elites in campaign could be free to stand at their full height. Though I personally think height does not affect multiplayer gameplay since it takes the same amount of time for an Elite to look down at a Spartans head as a Spartan has to look up at an Elites head. As for armor 343 can try creating an armor forge or something taking different pieces of different armor chests, helmets, etc and other pieces to put together into a unique chest other piece in order for everyone to have the ability to create truly unique armor. The story behind it could be that putting different pieces together augments the focuses of an armor to better tailor it to it’s user.

Well, though he didn’t verbally credit Kaine for his question,it wasn’t completely necessary. The question and its author (Kaine) were both featured, with the latter being displayed under the question.

Well, the important thing is, a question, from a memeber who posted on this page and supports elites, has been (not so much) answered. But really guys, if you think of it indirectly, and they said we are doing alot + the addition of saying i cant talk about that right now… I mean seriously, why would they hide the fact that we cant play as elites, I beleive this is there way of suspending our reaction when we acctually see that we can be able to play as elites. I cant think of another reason to why they would answer that way. I mean, if we couldnt play as elites, they might as well say it now before they get a bad reaction from the crowd in the future. Although the first possiblity is very possible, i beleive a very likely answer to us is that we have limited playability with elites in matchmaking multiplayer but in custom games we are free to go, additionally with arbiter DEFINETLY going to be in the campaign or in the next (spartan ops) or what ever they will call the next firefight equivalant. If they dont do those, i dont see how they will succeed much. I mean, we are a large portion of the halo community. But the halo community that supports arbiter is much larger. So thats why if 343 acctually listens to thier fanbase (which would make sense now if they did) then they have to prove it with thier next game. Im not gonna say anything like, im not buying it if they are not in because it is just nonsense, but when COD disappointed me with only 2 player split screen option i abanadoned ship, even if it had squads, and clan mathches, and awsome campaign. So, back on topic, Elites in multiplayer seems to me like a very good possibility in multiplayer. I mean, he could have just said, I cant talk about it, but he added, we are doing alot. So final statement. 343, dont dissapoint us.

I assure you brother, they are very lucky to see this.

One thing we should all consider about the appearance of the Sangheili is the fact that the Storm faction Elites we fought against in Halo 4 are a different “race”, so to speak, than those who are allied with Humanity. During the production of Halo 4, there was an interview with Frank O’Conner (if I remember correctly) in which he addressed the new and unusual anatomy of the new Covenant forces. I believe he compared them to animals in the way that there are creatures of the same species that have significantly different physical features while still sharing a similar overall shape and function.

Physical differences between Sangheili are present in the original trilogy as well, where Halo 2’s Elites were much skinnier than Halo 3’s. Also, Thel Vadam retains the “hooves” of Halo 2’s Sangheili while his Halo 3 allies have more claw-like feet.

If we are to see the return of our beloved Sangheili, I hope they’re more akin in anatomy to those allied with Humanity in Halo 3 than the enemies we found in Halo 4. They looked much less animalistic, more civilized, and calmer than Storm Elites. While there are aspects of the new Elite design that I like and respect, I think they’re just too different from the Elites I’ve known and loved since they were first introduced to multiplayer nearly a decade ago.

That what I think they’ll do. The different designs will make distinguishing between allied and enemy Covenant forces easier. Halo 2 and 3 were limited by that.

I swear, did I honestly just became popular around all the sudden or is it just this moment? Cause I mean…it was just a lucky question I asked that was somehow chosen heh. I don’t deserve any fame as is really.

Honestly, I don’t think Frankie’s answer to your question really answered anything.

Gameplay is ambiguous, he could mean anything from “the Elites’ AI are going to be much more advanced and competent” to “Elites are going to be fully playable at any time in Multiplayer”.

Not trying to dampen anyone’s spirits, but there really is nothing close to conclusive.

It’s better to have some hope than have nothing at all.

That ambiguity is precisely why I chose to replace John with Thel.

It is an artistic reflection of how I desire to play as the Arbiter in campaign, while also pointing out the obvious fact that we have learnt nothing at all. However, this does not dampen my spirit, nor should it for any other Sangheili. I have the hope and faith that the wise guardians of this franchise know of our discontent, and are rectifying the situation in a way to please all parties involved. The fact that the Elites are going to be in the game “a lot”, and from what I have seen in “Halo Escalation”; I can confidently claim that I will enjoy this next installation to the Reclaimer Saga more so than I did Halo 4.

I apologize if the subtlety of my implied message was lost on anyone who saw it.

@Kaine: Although I would not go as far as call you “famous”, the answer to your question shall be. For it has stirred the hopes of many passionate Sangheili.

With it, it shall also carry a deep and depressing blow if the extent to which we are expanded upon is disappointing, but I doubt it can be any worse than our disappointment when it was revealed that there would be no Sangheili in matchmaking.

– Yakup Kırcallı – Akub 'Ircal(ee) –

Whatever their decision, I adamantly await the return of our Arbiter, Thel 'Vadam.

Would Elites likes these been cool to put into multiplayer.
I simply like the body structures

Elite 1
Elite 2
Elite 3 (Elite juggernaut I think)
