Sangheili (Elites) In New Trilogy Matchmaking (Part 1)

A delegate doesn’t wear a BDU to a high profile peace treaty meeting. They wear fancy high end duds that still reflect their culture.

I’m personally quite pleased with how Thel turned out in Escalations. The ceremonial head crest is impressive and makes me think powerful, strong and intense leader.

If it doesn’t specifically say it is him then it could be another Arbiter because the Asetics were around around the beginning of the Covenant as well as being revived after the schism.

Still it makes me worried that this may be his game look and I don’t like the armor because well it isn’t Arbiter armor and Arbiter armor is technically ceremonial as well as being combat so I don’t see the need to switch. I like his original because it looks elegant but at the same time plain and utilitarian and the armor in the screen just looks to gaudy and ridiculous to me.

It was fancy and detailed, and I guess you could call it “ceremonial” in some form. However, it is still combat armor, that suit that the Arbiter has always worn was designed for combat and also to be unique and decorative to signify his position.

The armor that he is wearing is supposed to look somewhat silly to us. In Halo we’ve only ever seen Elites wearing combat armor, so what their leisure or diplomatic/politcal attire should look rather odd, yet familiar, to us. Had Thel planned on going into battle I’m sure he’d be wearing his old armor or something similar, and I’m sure if he was at home watching Saturday cartoons it would be something completely different.

Well, I don’t know you guys… but I really want that cape we’s wearing. I don’t know… I just like capes.

Regarding the armor thing. Of course that even though it’s ceremonial armor it should have some combat capacity. I’m sure Thel isn’t that dumb to go to a posible trap without being prepared. We are talking here about a race where disputes and dissagreement are solved culturaly by assassination.

It might not be the ideal armor for combat, but still, it might work, just in case.

Whelp my question to Frank O connar was just answered here.

He didn’t deny gameplay, he did say a lot. There is hope after all.

Also interested in his “favorite moment” in Halo that we haven’t seen yet, but he has. A Halo 5 reference of course. My complete shot in the dark guess is that it has to do with either Arbiter returning or the Precursors.

Also what are the Xbox One’s impulse triggers? He says Halo 5 is utilizing them.

Well he didn’t say anything about Halo4’s failures though…he was beating around the bush in a sense. I agree that his ‘favourite moment’ is very intriguing indeed though. TBH, the thing that interests me here is ‘watching the hobbit with Joe Staten’. Don’t know what the hell this means, just hope it means something.

“So we will be open and receptive and honest with ourselves.” This was the best part of the interview how can you have missed this?

Way to go Kaine!

410 pages ! that’s insane  has to be the biggest thread but i am sure elites has to be in the next Halo mp. Should not be that hard to get them into to the multiplayer story plot.

Welp, for me,Sangheili are confirmed in Halo Xbox One,and boy am I excited. When O’Connor described what he and 343i are doing for Sangheili as ‘a lot’,I think we may be getting armour skins. As well,we’ve hit a milestone. In excess of 400 pages and climbing.Long live this forum, and this special community of players we dub Sangheili.

well just so I am not disappointed, I’ll believe it when I see it.

Though now that I think about it, I had an interesting thought while doing some PT this morning.

How the hell do Sangheili exercise and stuff? Seriously? What do they do to train up and keep their bodies in damn good shape to kick -Yoink- all around?

A very big hint.

When Halo 5 comes, I shall be only an Elite!
May the Sanghelli bros live long and prosper with customizeable Visors, Helmets, Chestplates, Shoulder Pads, Wrist, Legs, Stances, and Weapons/ player skins! Rejoice! The Sanghelli have arrived!(It better be like Halo3’s!)

Like SkyAnnur I will believe it when I see it but I agree the future looks brighter. Like you more or less pointed out 343 can’t just do elites they have to do them well. That and other things (what they do with ODSTs) will determine whether or not I buy the next Halo and the fact that I would probably have to buy an xbox 1.

This got me thinking. The customisability of fitting different armour pieces from different ranks culminating in a single armour configuration.Lasky’s uniform had a shoulder pad on his left shoulder while his left one remained untouched.I’d like to see such characteristics transcend into Sangheili armour permutations.I’m sorta OCD and like having all my armour pieces belong to the same class, and having such a shoulder piece would be,undoubtedly, majestic.Think of the Covenant analogue, with light emanating from the plasma infused shoulder piece, glowing.

Same. I like all things to be even on both sides, except the Arbiter, somehow.

I’m speechless…

I guess we have something in common then.

I like having even armors, but you know what I wouldn’t mind seeing a few “hybrid class” sangheili out there.

(Like forcing Kaine to wear a Ranger helmet)
