I really don’t like the mp canon stuff. It’s only brought problems. Why would their be a banshee but not a hornet or falcon? Also why would their be any covenant vehicles/weapons if there isn’t even any elites in multiplayer. If 343i doesn’t bring back elites i’ll only rent the game for campaign… I hate being a spartan, hence me not caring for h4’s mp.

The reasoning behind the vehicles is because 343i ran out of time, they admitted it. As for elites, I suspect that it’s the same reasoning, but because they realized early on they wouldn’t have the time to make them playable and function well, so they dropped the idea and made a change to canon. However, don’t take that assumption with anything more than a grain of salt.

My thoughts exactly.
Yes, ultimately it became the decision and sad responsibility of myself and Onea Makuree to call it quits on the CSF. With the diminishing population due largely in part to a lack of Sangheili presence in the last two Halo games, we dwindled with no apparent hope of rising again.
However, I know many loyal members are still biding their time, waiting for the glorious return of Sangheili, and if that day comes we may resurrect quite literally from our ashes.
The new Escalation comic has a War Game simulation of Invasion being played against AI Elites; this takes place post-Spartan Ops.
A possible double hint that Invasion and Elites be returning?
Great news for Elite fans!
The most recent Halo comic, Escalation, confirms that Invasion is a gamemode that can be played in War Games. Featured in this game mode are simulated Elites controlled by an AI!

Still is a bit worry some because Elite’s in the next Halo are just AI, Leaving me to think we wont be playing as Elite’s in the next Halo campaign and Spartan Ops. Giving me that dreaded Halo Reach feel all over again…
I won’t buy the next Halo…
I am going to consult if this is in, if it’s not, then my friend.
No more Halo

Wait, based on no Elites being playable characters?

Agreed. As great as it will be to just have Elites back, it would be even better if they were real.
Why should my Spartan be a real character while your Elite is just an A.I?
There’s still hope though. We’ve still got three other issues to read and perhaps Thel will see that these A.I are poor imitations of his warriors and suggest that his men work on Infinity and replace them. Fingers crossed but this is beyond good news either way.
Anyways another possible hint are the eyes of Thel and that Acetic Elite in this picture. Their eyes glows as if they’re artificial, probably projecting the Elite’s HUDs. Perhaps they decided to throw this in because they’re planning to have these eye lenses be customisable just like the Spartan’s visors.
I can’t imagine why else they would make Thel’s eyes such an unnatural color.

You would be surprised on how many Elite players; such as myself, are doing this exact plan if there is no playable Elite’s in the next game. It’s pretty much we dedicated our self’s into playing as honorable species and create clans and such. But when there is no variety to play as different species in a Halo game, it pretty much shakes the Elite community badly. Heck, some of us have been playing as Elite’s since the days of Halo 2.

So, do players have any control over the Sangheili?
The news is great that they’ll be in MP, but it seems like they’re pulling another Halo Reach and forcing us in one playlist.
Wait, so even though we’re probably getting playable Elites, you’re upset they’re canonically AIs?
I don’t see what the problem is. You’re getting Elites.
Or would you rather have no Elites?
I’m so confused as to why people are upset over this =/
Well I guess that’s nice to know kind of with the “AI Elites”
but considering the d1ckery of the UNSC you really think the humans or much less ONI would allow Sangheili on the Infinity to train with their allies?
also am I the only one over thinking that the quote with the Arbiter next to him in that comic is bad news for us all? Maybe I’m looking too much into that quote and the fact the lightning in the background is usually either meant to show off a character or be used as an ill omen.
I hope 343i isn’t planning on making Thel a villain…and the thing is, he’s a popular one even among Spartans.

There is a difference between AI’s and Real figures. Real Figures can go outside of the training sessions and do actual real missions, while AI’s are just stuck in the training session and only meant to just stay there like Halo Reach. Now, do the math and you will see as to why it’s worry some.

You sir may be my new favorite spartan. I want elites back but not if their playability is a sad shadow of former Halos. So now if they come back here are the demands I can think of: they must be fully playable no more segregation like in Reach, they must be customizable, and they must look good not inbred like they did in 4 and definitely have better looking armor than they did in 4!

I don’t know if that was directed towards me, but if we are able to play as Sangheili AI or just Sangheili that are in the simulator I don’t mind. Its just that it seems like they’re trying to shove the Community in one playlist again, like in Reach.

Unless the comic specifically said that was Thel then I don’t think it is. For one thing the armor is completely different (hopefully that isn’t the new look because frankly it is stupid!) and he has Asetics around him which could either mean that it is after the Human-Covenant war or back around the formation of the Covenant. Another thing that irritates me about that image is the Arbiter whoever he is looks like a Halo 4 elite. If that look is back then even if elites are playable I may be done because they look nothing like elites and as far as I am concerned they are not elites.

Whether or not I get the next Halo will be based on elite playability along with other things. By elite playability I mean well done not just a couple of playlists and not where we look anything like Halo 4’s elites because if we are then as far as I am concerned 343 needn’t have bothered.
I seriously hope elites are allowed in all play lists. I hated only being able to play invasion and custom games. They can be scaled down like they were in halo 3, and if i have to put up with a bigger hit box then oh well i’ll put up with it. Anything rather than playing as a spartan. I just can’t get into the game unless im an elite.
