Sangheili (Elites) In New Trilogy Matchmaking (Part 1)

> Quick question, did anyone of you appreciate the exposed arms of the Sangheili in Halo 4 only covered by the skin tight suit.I’d prefer them with arm guards like in all other Halos before it.
>
> And does anyone know here a player which goes by the gamer tag of ORI THE PROD1GY.

I love the Storm Elites look especially around the arms. When Arbiter’s Elites come into play it’s going to be important for each of the two factions to be distinguishable.

343 giving the Storm a ferocious rogue kinda look was a good idea. We shouldn’t get the idea that these are our buddies from Halo 3, they are a threat and should look like a threat and they most certainly do.

Arbiters Elites are the Elites that should have the traditional look because they are the ones that wore that kinda armor and should appear more noble.

I don’t like hearing people say that the Halo 4 Elites should look like they did in past Halos. These are different Elites. Though I’ll admit the claws and monstrous crooked teeth are a bit over board.

The Storm should have the appearance of a new faction separate from Arbiter’s and I think 343 have done a good job of this. The Storm Elites can be made to look like monsters all 343 wants, fine they’re the bad guys. If anybody wants the noble classic looking Elites than they should be asking for Arbiter’s Elites to look like that not the Storm.

The bare arms of the Storm Elites fit them perfectly as villains.

And no I’ve never heard of anybody by that Gamer tag sorry.

I agree, though I don’t like the look it is canonically appropriate. However I do think there may be an option which would cater to both parties.Since Halo 4 did allow Spartans to have greater customizability options, allowing them to control their arm guards and leg armour,I don’t see why this can’t be done for Sangheili. We can have the option of having no armour around the arms,or can choose from a variety of permutations the arm guards we don into combat.

As for campaign, would it not be likely that some people could control their aesthetic look by changing armour perms. It’d be nice to have two players forced to be Arbiter and Master Chief and the remaining ones to be Spartans or Sangheili based on their choice whose looks are controlled via their armour permutation.

I do miss the Elites…

This is pretty much how I feel. Jul and his traitors can look like the inbred weaklings that they are, but they better not mess with the look of the Arbiter or his men!

> About having to remove Elites from MM because they’re not completely equal to Spartans.

For customs loadouts, if we still keep them, weapons pertaining to a certain faction should only be able to be spawned with by a certain race. Just an idea.

E.g. I’m a spartan, so all Covenant weapons that you can spawn with are locked to me unless I change into an elite, and vice versa for them. Both factions can use Forerunner tech though.

I’m not a big fan of this load out idea.

What if I’m a Spartan that likes using a carbine and having a Magnum as a secondary or an Elite that likes using an AR with a PP for a secondary?

It’ll break a lot of weapon combos between Covenant and UNSC weapons. Along with not being able to use my Carbine unless I play as an Elite is something I don’t want to do.

Plus we shouldn’t have to trade one player option for another when we can have both.

There’s no real reason to do this other than that it’ll make more sense canonically. But remember that scene in Halo 3 where Johnson and Thel were swapping Covenant and UNSC between their soldiers. Thels Elites working on Infinity and becoming part of the War games simulation will be the result of that moment when the UNSC and Sangheili separatists merged to become one fighting force.

So that merge of Infantry should also come with a merge with their equipment. So Elites using UNSC gear and Thels Elites using UNSC gear would be a good idea.

SIVs already have some armor inspired by the Covenant designs. I want to see 343 take this a step further and maybe have a few Elite armor sets created by human manufacturers and maybe one day some MJOLNIR created by Sangheili manufacturers.

You know the Storm sect with the way they were designed look a lot more like Loctus from Gears of War than actual Sangheili.

Still I kind of wonder what ideas 343i decided to steal from now, aside from CoD.

Yeah, thanks for saying that is noticed it but i could put a word on it. I have been playing gears 2 for awhile and the locust looked a bit familiar. Compared to Elites Officer, Zealots, and Warriors.

The only thing I see for similarities between Locusts and Sangheili is the skin texture. I say this because the Elites and Locusts look the same in texture other than that I don’t see any other similarities.

Locust

Sangheili (H4)

I’d much prefer a smooth skin texture which is consistent throughout. The one they had in Halo 4 was undoubtedly horrendous.343i could also alternate back to the way Sangheili were;full body armour.I don’t know about you,but if 343i could give us more color customization options such as chrome or maybe gold chrome,it’d look so sick. We’d be able to recreate the classic color schemes from old Halos like the Zealots of Halo 2 which wore gold armour. Why chrome?Because I can.

Ditto. I played as an elite from Halo 2-Halo: Reach. Granted, Reach really limited how you could play… But it was still my preferred species. I don’t like playing as a Spartan.

I really wish bs angel would just reply on this topic. To tell us whether 343i has plans or not to have Sangheili playable in Halo 5, (Or whatever the next game they are making is to be called) and end this torture of waiting until they come out and say it in some magazine. The suspense is killing me.

Personally, I think 343i will have Sangheili playable. I feel positive that Halo 5 is going to be a great game, the best in the series in fact. Why? While Halo 4 might have been disappointing to some players in many areas, but 343i has a lot of potential, and I believe they will learn from their mistakes and make a really great game.

This “Halo Xbox One” thread is great. Here, we can simply tell 343i what we want. Give them ideas. It’s much better then the idiots on the “Halo 4” thread complaining about things they can’t change. Here, we can make a difference.

This
and i guess since this has been moved to the Halo Xbox One thead posts, from the NO HOPE OFF DISCUSSION, We could have greater hope. Thank you 343, but your job isnt finished yet. (not until we are confirmed that we got what we were fighting for)

I actually was wondering why this thread is on here instead of “Halo 4” where it was originally posted. I take this as a sign. That totally means that they’re considering it or have already started it. That, or maybe the monitors moved it here because it’s more relevant to the next Halo game, either way it’s good news.

The sad thing is Halo 4 is a better Call of Duty than Ghosts=(

With every bulletin that goes by with no mention of us I grow more disenfranchised. At this point I am starting to think that even if Halo 5(or whatever it is) is good that it still won’t be worth getting an Xbox One. That and I am starting to worry 343 has done to much damage already.

Lemme get a few quotes

> Consider us silent listeners

I’m pretty sure that at least a few of them have acknowledge the loss of Elites as terrible…

Certainly agree with you.If the CEO himself of 343i acknowledges the community’s wants and needs,I say the battle is half won.The availability of playable Sangheili is an aspect the community have come to love.I mean who doesn’t like gameplay variety. The short lived longevity of Halo 4’s matchmaking and servers should have already taught them a lesson, and the community’s response to their first game as well.

'‘My judge of 343 is not going to be their first game-but how they react to their problems created in their first game.’-Arbiter 617

Its evident that Elites are something that much of the community wants to return to multiplayer, but there’s the question of how to do that. Do we take the H2/H3 route, the Reach route, or something else? Nither of the previous implementations have been flawless, but perhaps we can learn from both and meet in the middle to a degree. At any rate, I think its imperative to base their form/attributes around being equal to the Spartan models (individual fitted hit-boxes and identical speed, shields, height, etc.)

Do something for me right quick. Look at the New Sangheili and give them a darker armor color and orange lights.

Zealot

Kantus

Palace Guard

Warrior

Thats just a few examples.
