Sangheili (Elites) In New Trilogy Matchmaking (Part 1)

> I never played as an Elite, and I’ve never found an interest, but I’m all for giving other players the ability to play as one. I like variety. Hell, even if they do it right they could go farther, just as long as the multiplayer is BALANCED. I’m competitive yes, but I’m not stuck up.

What do you know a decent spartan 4 kudos to you=)

Ah, many thanks, Darth. I see no reason to deny others that which does not imbalance or ruin the game for most. If the Elites are perfectly balanced, there’s no reason to complain.

Yea I can definitely agree with you on that. They should ease it up a bit. Perhaps every rank you could get to choose what piece of armor you want from the complete set.

Adding Elites will give you something extra to shoot in the face so you also get a little something too. If they balanced Brutes they could work as well. Thanks for giving support to the Elite cause!

I think that if ranking up unlocks armour I think that the last should becouncilor, as it is the highest title an elite can get besides arbiter.

> However, I am not in the minority that wants Infinity multiplayer back. I don’t mind some elements returning, such as the ability to choose between two weapons that fit the same class, such as the AR, Storm Rifle, and Suppressor, or the BR and Carbine, or even the DMR, LR and NR. Heck, a secondary choice between less specifically different weapons like the Magnum vs a Reach style Needler or an SMG vs Plasma Rifle would be nice too. And I honestly don’t have an issue with choosing your grenade… But they do need to drop nade count per spawn to 1 no matter the selection.
>
> But I’m entirely against complete class customization including AAs and Perks. I’m against Ordinance so long as it contains randomized choices and power weapons, and I’m VERY against instant respawn etc.]

That isn’t really relevant. I was just using Infinity fans as a reference to minorities. My apologies if I was not clear.

> Most certainly. I accept that I am a minority as an Elite fan who wants little more than the Elite player model back in the game so I can be an Elite again. Preferably whenever I want to as it was in Halos 2 and 3, as opposed to being statistically different and bound to certain playlists as per Reach.
>
> But I wouldn’t necessarily call myself a minority when specifically comparing those who want Elites back, to those that seriously don’t. The vast majority honestly doesn’t care, if Elites come back they’ll enjoy looking different sometimes, and enjoy shooting something different sometimes, but either way it won’t put a dent in the game for them.
>
> So if you directly compare those that want Elites back, and those that don’t (specifically), you’ll likely find that Elites are in the majority.

Not caring =/= contributing to the people who do. But I believe you are referring to the people who don’t want elites back. In that case, I can’t really agree or disagree with you there since there’s no real formulated set of opposing opinions that I’ve seen on the subject. I can, however, see the reasoning of both sides.

Why would a councilor be fighting in warfare when they are in that position for political purposes? I know there are some councilors like Soha 'Rolamee who had the military “ee” added to their name, but that’s probably because sangheili like Soha once fought as soldiers.

Another thing about councilors is that while they look cool their helmets would be incredibly impractical in combat. That being said they did okay in Halo 2.

Practical in battle? I could not care less about the practicality of it all if I could play as an Honor Guard with the glorious Reindeer antlers.

The reason their armor is so flashy is to emphasize their importance. They just guard the Prophets… with poles that glow. They don’t fight in the heat of battle.

I love those ceremonial ranks like Councillors and Honour Guards,I want them back.Always loved their armour and the role they played.

They sure kicked my butt a few times back in Halo 2. Besides, like you said, their job is to guard the Prophets, if they weren’t competent and excellent soldiers they wouldn’t be given such a task.

Lol,Reindeer antlers. The Honour Guards are very skilled warriors, but maybe we’ll see them replaced by another division of Sangheili, but serving a similar role.Seeing what happened in Halo 4,I doubt we’ll have much of our beloved ranks from Bungie produced Halos.I do hope they keep some design aspects, and that fancy glowing armour.Could possibly add dark glowing veins in the antlers and make it look slightly demonic and would make their presence more demeaning.Maybe,if we’re given more customization options in Halo 5,we can choose a certain pattern as to which our lights on the ornamental armour glow.So perhaps we could have a gradual glow from light to dark,or change it to this very quick flash,or flickering. It’d be great to see that, but we can’t have nice things.

Only never did I say they were incapable soldiers. I just explained why their armor is (most likely) the way it is. I don’t see where you got the idea I was suggesting otherwise.

I think they should include the armors in multiplayer because it simply gives more to the player. They could add an option to remove anything that would be impractical on the battlefield if the player wanted. As for getting armor from ranking they could create special armors for the higher ranks like supreme commander. I remember seeing one wear a long cloak that went to the feet in a picture, perhaps this could be added. It would also be nice to have the ability to remove armor pieces completely, like just removing a helmet or one shoulder pieces.

Removing armor would be a cool thing to do for Machinimas.

A cloak/cape as potential as long as it’s nothing silly. I mean, it’s highly unlikely we’d see elites running around like superman in multiplayer. :stuck_out_tongue:

A lot more elite armor ranks would be pretty nice to see in both Campaign and Multiplayer. Hopefully variants like Spec Ops return.

Incorporating Forerunner design aspects could prove nice as well. The Prefect spartan armour permutation looked great,Fotus as well,so I don’t see why this could not be applicable in an Elitized format.

If there’s a way to unlock Honor Guard armor in Halo Xbox One, I’ll never play as a Spartan again.
Even if it means completing the Campaign on Mythic difficulty (LASO).

In Halo Wars, I enjoy spamming Elite Honor Guards.
They’re not very useful, but that doesn’t matter.
Because they’re Elite Honor Guards!

I think we can all agree that the Elite Players have won, Elites will probably be in the next installment.

On another note, I think we should have Updated Reach/3 style Elites in the next installment.

What you’ve said just now raises a point.

If we do get playable Elites in Halo 5 (and I really hope we do!), what style do we want?

Halo 2 style? Halo 3 style? Reach? Halo 4?

Personally, I’d like to see a mixture of 3 and Reach’s style. That is, the same sort of physique as the Halo 3’s Elites, but standing tall and proud like on Reach.

Perhaps we could have an option for how we want our Elite to be, both Height and muscle wise in the next installment. Although I would probably say that Reach or Halo 3 design would be the most probable, considering the level of distaste that the Elite community has shown toward the Halo 4 designs. Also the Halo 2 designs are almost the same as the Halo 3 design so I would lump them together. This could be an option if there is an Armory for Elites this time around.
