Sangheili (Elites) In New Trilogy Matchmaking (Part 1)

The video from which I obtained that information from was confirmed by Microsoft that the description on a webpage about Halo 5 is inaccurate. But I must agree with you,Halo 4 should have been a decent lesson for 343i.

Concerning the armor I hope they retain their texture from Reach but graphically updated. The materials from which they were made of in Halo 4 doesn’t look good.If one notices the throats of the Sangheili in Reach after killing them, you realize their mouths are actually, graphically speaking, very low quality.I hope they change that in Halo 5 and make the tissues look actually tangible and adds texture to make it look realistic.I want every nook and cranny that is visible to be of graphically high quality.

And nice drop pod ideas, however I think it’d be more applicable in Invasion,if it returns that is.I do hope they add wrist and utilities back in Halo 4 for Spartans and Sangheilis, hardlight dagger bandoleers sound very appealing.

Quick question,do you guys think they should change the opacity of the energy daggers.Reach’s ones were slightly too transparent for me,I wanted like a darker blue but still have slight transparency.Perhaps they could give us a customization options that would allow us to drag a bar on an opacity scale to change it.
And armour effects,I was hoping they’d give us an effect that was coherent to the lore of Halo, more specifically the Sangheili. So we could have like a plasma discharge armour effect that would burst around us every once in a while. It’d be similar to the kind of discharge Huragok give out to boost the shields of friendly units.

The plasma vapor trail from the energy sword in Halo Wars and Halo 4 cinematics would be an awesome armor effect.

> If elites, Reach multiplayer, and ODST are all you care about in Halo, then I guess you are. I don’t mean my statement that people who prefer those things are a minority in any malicious way, I’m just stating a semi-unfortunate fact. In fact, as an Infinity Multiplayer fan and an elite fan, I know exactly what being the minority can be like.

Most certainly. I accept that I am a minority as an Elite fan who wants little more than the Elite player model back in the game so I can be an Elite again. Preferably whenever I want to as it was in Halos 2 and 3, as opposed to being statistically different and bound to certain playlists as per Reach.

But I wouldn’t necessarily call myself a minority when specifically comparing those who want Elites back, to those that seriously don’t. The vast majority honestly doesn’t care, if Elites come back they’ll enjoy looking different sometimes, and enjoy shooting something different sometimes, but either way it won’t put a dent in the game for them.

So if you directly compare those that want Elites back, and those that don’t (specifically), you’ll likely find that Elites are in the majority.

However, I am not in the minority that wants Infinity multiplayer back. I don’t mind some elements returning, such as the ability to choose between two weapons that fit the same class, such as the AR, Storm Rifle, and Suppressor, or the BR and Carbine, or even the DMR, LR and NR. Heck, a secondary choice between less specifically different weapons like the Magnum vs a Reach style Needler or an SMG vs Plasma Rifle would be nice too. And I honestly don’t have an issue with choosing your grenade… But they do need to drop nade count per spawn to 1 no matter the selection.

But I’m entirely against complete class customization including AAs and Perks. I’m against Ordinance so long as it contains randomized choices and power weapons, and I’m VERY against instant respawn etc.

Honestly, this thread is so long, and has stuck along for a very long time, that having playable elites in Halo 5 should be a must!

I personally think that should be automatic for everyone. Maybe instead it would be a vapour trail (which you could choose the color of) that surrounds the player as an armor effect.

They shouldn’t remove anything that they add. What I mean is take stuff that’s hated out of multiplayer, but make it available for customs.

Yeah,I mean removing Elites makes it seem 343i wants people to stop making machinima. You can’t have a very good storyline in those without em.And in the days of Reach, which I still do play now,I loved it when I chanced upon other players with the appreciation of using Sangheili player models.

Elites allows machinima makers to create their content with a wider array of available ideas to them. The removal of Elites has obviously forced these ideas to only be put into action within Halo 3 or Reach rather than Halo 4.

Yeah, many directors still insist on using Halo Reach,a movement which I strongly support.I guess its 343i’s ‘punishment’ for making such un-machinima friendly implementations. The maps as well are pretty bad for machinima. No wide open spaces for big epic battles with varying terrain.Forge Island was pretty pathetic in my opinion,it didn’t have the amazing properties of Forge World. No crystal clear waters and beaches to walk on,no water falls,no terrain.I hope they bring Forge World back, but much bigger. With more topography and like small mountains/hills.It’d be nice if they added snow to higher accessible areas which possess a higher elevation. Its a lot to ask for, almost unrealistic, given the short development time, but lets just keep our fingers crossed.

Oh yes,I’d just like to ask.Is summer vacation for your over,my friends online are making shorter and more limited appearances. My apologies,I live half way across the globe.

If this forum keeps up, 343 might see this and add playable elites on the next game.

Nice to see support from other members of the community excluding this thread. Thanks guys,we’ll need support from as many players as possible.

So we at 777 pages yet?

No I think were at around 389… :stuck_out_tongue:

Hopefully we won’t need 777 pages.

We’re getting there.

Anyway. I’m hoping we see Elites on both sides when we’re playing campaign and multiplayer. In campaign Juls Elites could be a mix of untrained Elites who are new to the cause and trained Elites some who have trained for a while since joining Jul and others from the covenant wars and hateful of humanity. Thels Elites could be a mix of covenant war veterans who like Humans and new untrained Elites who have join Thel`s cause agreeing to the peace with Humanity. For multiplayer players could choose the Elite model and then choose an Elite skin that would change the look of their skin, and afterwards the suit under the armor they wear could be given a chosen color. Spartans could be allowed to do the same with their suit under their armor.

If in halo 5 elite game play returns was would get the chance to earn these heroic armor pieces.
Earn via leveling or other means:
Elite minor
Elite major
Elite spec ops
Elite zealot
Elite shipmaster
Elite general
Elite honor guard

Vidmaster Challenge: Sangheili Endure (Shipmaster Rtas ‘Rip Jaw’ Vadum Armor)

Vidmaster Challenge: Sangheili Operations (Jaidon Jul ‘Didacts Hand’ Mdama Armor)

Vidmaster Challenge: Sangheili Annual (Jaidon Thel "Arbiter’ Vadam Armor)

Armor pieces could be awarded by the current Halo 4 manner of reaching master in a commendation, general leveling, and achievements like in Halo 3. Perhaps after completing each Vidmaster the player would receive an armor set as well.

Perhaps for more seasoned ranks,we could have noticeable default differences that would differentiate them from the less seasoned ranks. So for example ranks for more experienced warriors like Generals could have battle scars or something like that. In real life, humans look different as they age,so I think a similar mechanic should be implemented for Sangheili of higher status that are older when we choose that rank. It’d add to the realism of things.

I do think I remember a post in this thread a while back about being able to wear Doarmir fur cloaks to show status, just thought I’d bring it back up.If they do bring this cloak mechanic, would’nt it be nice if we could adjust the ground clearance of it.If it were to be negative,it would drag along the floor whilst the player moved.I think this would come in nice as Limited Edition material, but if they were to have a commendation completion in order to obtain it,I hope they make it easier.Don’t know if its just me,but some commendations in Halo 4 are ridiculously difficult to complete.

No just no! Some Halo 4 commendations are impossible to complete now let alone when it ages and players start leaving!

I never played as an Elite, and I’ve never found an interest, but I’m all for giving other players the ability to play as one. I like variety. Hell, even if they do it right they could go farther, just as long as the multiplayer is BALANCED. I’m competitive yes, but I’m not stuck up.

I’m in for Elites in MP so long as it’s balanced.
