> Though Honour Guards may not appear in the next Halo,I do think that high ranked Sangheili will need some sort of protection, though being seasoned warriors themselves and being completely capable of self-defence,its always better to play safe.I was honestly very fond of the roles they played, serving the San Shyuum and protecting them.I don’t see why the actual role of the Honour Guards could not come into play in Halo Xbox One.They themselves should have been very experienced and capable personnel to have been chosen by the San Shyuum. At the very least if they do return in Halo Xbox One,if not serving the San Shyuum, will act as a form of security personnel for high priority Sangheili.I’m not a hardcore Halo fan and I don’t read the books,so I’m sorry if what I say may seem contradictory.I want the San Shyuum back.It was when they ruled supreme was the time where the Sangheili were the most glorious, with well crafted armour and serving them to journey into their religion’s ‘Divine Beyond’.
I think some form of Honor Guards, Personal Guards, or even the Ascetics should be in.
Ascetics could be in to protect Sanghieli law (that’s what they do anyways) while Jul’s forces could have Personal Guards.
And Personal Guards just makes too much freaking sense for Jul. Wouldn’t Jul want his best of the best Elites be guards to protect him? He almost died in Episode 9 of Spartan Ops if it weren’t for the fact Knights could teleport in, and now that Requiem is destroyed, that can’t happen, so I’d like to think Jul would want some personal guards.
I really love the Honor Guards (they look so -Yoink!-!). Oh, the amount of times I’ve played the mission Regret simply because they were in that mission in numbers. Plus, I’ve always wanted to use the Energy Stave.
I really hope Personal Guards are put in Halo 5, along with some kind of useable Energy Staves. I’d be so happy if that would happen.
Let me post what I posted in the Halo 5 Community Suggestion Thread:
> I’d love to see some kind of Personal Guard variant for the Elites as enemies. Possibly bring back either the Honor Guards or the Ascetics, and give them an Energy Stave (remember, the top of the stave ignites in blue plasma when activated). In Multiplayer, you can have that armor on, and use the Energy Stave (at least in Campaign/Spartan Ops/Firefight). For gameplay, their shields could be as tough as an Ultra’s/General’s, and when they lose their sheilds, they could pull out Hardlight Shields. To make the Energy Stave unique from the Energy Sword, make it where the Elites swing twice with it, like swing to the left then right, each can cause instant kill; As for players, its lunge would be further than the Energy Sword, players swing twice with it with one hit of the button (each swing does a lunge), each swing causes 50% damage, after the dual swing there’s a long pause, each hit makes the Stave lose 5% (out of a total of 100%), and when the energy amount runs out the lunge and double swing stays but the damage is decreased to 25%. That’d be awesome. As for story, it’d make too much sense.
> [Yes, I’ve been thinking of this a lot, lol. I miss Honor Guards from Halo 2; I played the levels in Campaign a lot simply because they had Honor Guards in them. I used them a lot in Halo Wars too, even if they weren’t the best. And I’ve always wanted to use the Energy Stave.]
