That’s beside the point. Halo 4 selling copies has no correlation to how many people continue to play the game, nor does it correlate to whether those that do continue to play enjoy it. I can quite happily say that I do not play Halo 4 as much as I would do simply because I do not have my Sangheili. I just don’t enjoy it as much. It is the same for most, if not all, Sangheili players.
Is “do just fine” good enough? No, personally I don’t think so. Why shouldn’t Halo 5 (or whatever it is going to be called) strive to use all that was good and advantageous in previous titles? Sangheili in multiplayer are undoubtedly one of those good elements of previous games. So why should they not be incorporated?
For Matchmaking to stay in its current iteration it will become/remain stagnant. Is this for the best?

I only play Halo 4 when I am bored of Reach, Call of Duty, etc which is not very often. One thing I do notice is that only recently has the minimum number of players on 4 actually gotten past the maximum number of players on Reach! I give Halo 4 until Destiny’s release to live what about you guys?
> Female elites dont look like the males, based on halo legends they are not the warriors i dont think
You can’t take Halo legends as canon, it’s already been stated by 343 anyways since its all fan made animations. The female in the Duel was a terrible design anyways with hair and such. Also, I’m pretty sure there have been female covenant before. Otherwise, why have female elite voices in Halo 3?

Well considering Halo’s Xbox One premier will be around the same time as Destiny, we’ll never know for sure since a lot of players will be moving to both games. And if Halo 5 really is an improvement (which is a possibility after 343i has done so much to make Halo 4 a much better game than it was when it shipped), It’s entirely possible it will have a greater population a year in than 4 does now.

From a purely business point of view, the number of games sold may dictate success. But ultimately when someone buys a game, they have most likely not played it and don’t entirely know what they are putting money into, so you can’t judge a game’s success on that. From a development standpoint or the standpoint of a gamer, whether or not a game is successful is based on it’s continuity and player population, because that proves just how good a game is.
As was the case with Halo 4, millions of players bought it, now barely thousands play it. It has the most pathetic population of any Halo game. Which is why it was absolutely NOT a success.
And it is entirely true that sizable portion of the players who bought the game, and then stopped playing it is the Elite community. Sizable enough that without them, Reach’s population would most likely be nowhere near Halo 4’s, much less actually higher at times.
There are even a good chunk of Elite fans still sitting on Halo 3 simply because we also weren’t happy with Halo Reach taking us out of Matchmaking.

Halo Legends is canon with the exception of Odd One Out, but they made Han look human to help sympathise with her (unless she’s a cross bred Sangheili/San’Shyuum

343i did say that the artistic licences taken in designing certain characters and environments isn’t Canon, just the events and underlying stories. Basically the Elites don’t live in feudal japan and wear samurai armour. And the Forerunners also didn’t build gigantic feudal japanese structures.

Oh I thought you meant the stories weren’t canon, thanks for correcting me
Just thought I’d throw this out there. But how many of us on this forum are actually below 15 years old of age.I’m 13 and am just thinking,I don’t think many of us are.I just feel that our conversations and discussions are just so mature,it’s seems unrealistic to think that some of us are actually under 15 years old.
Sorry if this is too personal,I just sometimes ponder a lot.

Better stay on topic young dude, some of us that are above 20 are rather more serious on these kinds of subjects than others…

Well, the Forerunner didn’t built them. But they are canon, as they were mentioned in Halo: Evolutions. They were remains of Ancient Human structures, maybe the last of their kind.
I’m also curious to see how a female Elite would really look. Maybe not too different and just more slim? I don’t know…

Be that as it may, the feudal japanese design of them still isn’t Canon. Unless you think ancient humans were somehow the 20 foot tall monsters those buildings were made for.

I will give them that 343 has improved the game but then again it isn’t hard when the game was so flawed to begin with and we still don’t have our Elites back. I meant how long until Halo 4 completely dies as Reach still has at least 15,000 and 3 can still get around 300. Even 2 on the pc could get to 20 before the servers were closed and I just don’t see that being 4 but hopefully Halo 5 will be that good.

If we don’t have Elites in the next Halo then its clear that either we are being ignored or canon means more to 343 then the community, or some other thought up reason. I personally think they should begin trying to implement things now that people want and use Halo 4 as a type of beta in order to get those things correct. The secret stuff they dont want us to know right away can be tested by people they choose. So basically they`ll be working on improving Halo 4 and working on making Halo 5 at the same time.
A nice feature would be for different classes of Sangheili to have different shield colors, instead of the white we normally see.Given the increased customizability given to us in Halo 4,such as stances,we should be given the opportunity to choose a form as to which our shields dissipate. Not sure how much variety would be available, but seems as a good concept at the time being.
Another thing is the wrist accessories that we could be given, such as fuel rod bandoleers. For utilities perhaps some sort of an aesthetic charging dock for plasma based weaponry. So when smaller weapons like the plasma rifles are stowed, which is on the thigh, such weapons will appear to be integrated onto this charging dock. There would be a hollow area where when the weapon was placed,it would illuminate. Its the detail that 343i should also consider as well as completely remodeling the Sangheili.
The fact that 343 hasn’t even acknowledged this thread worries me. If Elites are not implemented in Halo 5/X1 in any way I will consider it… speciesism?

They most likely have seen it, but have they replied? I’m not too sure, I can’t be bothered going through nearly 400 pages. (Not trying to be a Dbag if that’s what it looks like, I just haven’t seen any confirmation).
