No it’s a single shot weapon much like the UNSC’s DMR, except no bloom as it’s Halo 3.

The Carbine was the Covenant’s counter to the BR, and in some cases, was actually better.

An elite is roughly the same size and strength of a SPARTAN II, and with SPARTAN IVs being a similar equivalent, I’d say Elites with their standard Power Armor would be just fine.

Amen for the real truth
Carbine=favorite weapon. I actually got 23 kills in one game just massacring the other team with the Carbine. Not to mention that I feel like an actual Elite wielding one 
I hope that the Carbine returns alongside the Elites in Halo 4.

Carbine looks amazing…
I have to say that carbine was my favorite weapon on halo 3, its rate of fire combined with accuracy and range made it both a carbine aswell as an assault rifle.
But, while it was very fun and rewarding to use the carbine… I just have to say that the needle rifle is very entertaining and very fun to use (Just to watch people explode in a cloud of pink death.)
The only complaint I have about the Carbine… is that I never spawned with it in Matchmaking, only the BR and AR.

Carbine was the best weapon in halo 2 as well… Bring bakc the carbine!

Halo wouldn’t be the same if there wasn’t a bad–Yoink- elite on your team, I think Reach made a mistake with not putting them in to all of the playlists, they didn’t have that much of an advantage anyway.

More speed, higher jumps, people would say that if you use an elite your a noob because you ‘need’ the speed and jump hight.

Meh, never bothers me in invasion, plus there are always ways of balancing things like that out.
