Sangheili (Elites) In New Trilogy Matchmaking (Part 1)

i really like the cutscene idea to make elites in multiplayer canon i just doubt they will actually do it. i think if they bring elites back it’ll be in the next game.

> @Assassin 11D7:Height is technically NOT an advantage,it increases profile.

> Anyways I wouldn’t mind being bigger than spartans,it is after all, natural that Sangheili are taller and be slightly larger targets.Player controlled Sangheili were slightly faster than their Spartan counterparts, and with health bars being seemingly excluded from future Halos hence negating the fact that Sangheili feature auto health regeneration,I think that the slight speed boost is rather fair given the larger Sangheili hitbox. It may not seem like much but a larger profile really limits the amount of coverage you get from hiding behind objects, especially for the Ultra rank, your giant helmet would stick out of lower cover, hence I stake my claim that the higher speed would be fair.

How about we just make them the same so we don’t have kids screaming about how the Elites are different than Spartans in more ways than their player models? It worked just fine in Halo 2 and 3, let’s just stay with that and everyone can be happy. I doubt that you’d be crying and pouting on the forums just because Elites and Spartans in Halo 5 would be equal. You have an army of Halo fans complaining about Loadouts and etc., we don’t need to make the Elites different from Spartans, therefore -Yoink!- off more people since it would ruin the game’s concept of equal starts.

> Believe me it will. People, including myself, hated it in Halo 3 when Elites weren’t killable by headshots in gametypes like SWAT. A simple fix in that hitbox problem would’ve made people happy. This will not make people outside of the Elite fan community happy. Does it really bother you so much that you’re not better than a Spartan, or that you’re not taller? I do not understand what’s the big freaking deal with this. Halo 2 and Halo 3 Elites were fine for the most part, making them have a difference such as a height advantage will result in them getting excluded out of playlists like Reach.
>
> Also, you can move just fine without fully extending your legs as you walk. I don’t think Elites would have any more trouble.

LOLOLOLOLOL
Elites in Halo 3 had the same exact hitboxes than the Spartans

> What about hit boxes? Elite heads hang forwards, making headshots from the back far more difficult. A strong-siding elite would probably be impossible to headshot.

If you’ve ever played Halo 2, you’ll know it’s not an issue. As well, if the Elite model is shaped like Halo Reach’s, but scaled down to a Spartan’s size, the head is clearly defined, and quite obviously above the shoulders.

They didn’t.

As a Spartan I never had a difficult time killing Elites in Halo 2 or 3. The player models in Halo 2 and 3 were perfectly fine, to me. I would greatly enjoy seeing them make a return as I do very much so enjoy playing as the Sanghieli.

I think maybe we should just keep it plain and simple then.Sangheili,Spartans, equal speed and height instead of braining ourselves about which species should have what advantage and what disadvantage.

Oh yes,and balance the Active Camouflage for both species. If you were a Spartan and started crouch walking with Active Camouflage, you’d have noticed it rendered you completely invisible.Sangheili when using that AA had slight difficulties and would not be completely invisible due to their larger size and exhausting the AA beyond its tolerance range.

Too many gimmicky “pro types” use Elites or female Spartans because of a illusionary benefit that those avatars provide. I would rather the pseudo psychological advantage be non existent because sometimes the placebo can produce positive results anyway.

In the off chance that someone is actually affected by it (I have no idea WHY they would be), then that person should work on it, playing Campaign for a little while would make all the difference for them.

The truth is there shouldn’t be a difference. You are shooting a target in a video game, who cares what it looks like?

I think we’re over complicating the matter indeed. In Halo 2 and 3 they were fine. Just the slightest modifications could be made to make them more vulnerable. Also don’t make the Arbiter’s elites look like monsters, they’re a different ethnicity than the Storm.

Wow 360 whole pages, must be important.
But anyhow I would like to see some Lizards in MP but would prefer they be contained in a specific gametype where other species (Brutes/Forerunners) would also be available, equality and all that. Also wanted to mention that Halo 3 made them all hunched back and boxy which was unnecessary and off putting, the natural appearance is kinda the point isn’t it?

No, I hardly got to be an Elite in Reach

I miss Invasion. It was so much fun! I hope they have it in the new Halos as well. Only on a 4v4 level for objective based game play.

> No, I hardly got to be an Elite in Reach

That’s because Bungie did a half-a@# job with that part, This time 343i would actually cater to those with an interests in pitting the species against one another in a Matchmaking setting.
Not just a glorified slayer but a kind of four faction free for all gametype with its own playlist.

Here here! I just want to be equal to a spartan in every aspect besides height and shape! What is the point of having Sangheili back if they are just really misshaped spartans? I want Sangheili to have their normal height and stand up, besides that they can be just like spartans as far as I am concerned.

That is one of the things I disliked about Reach, but it is still better than nothing which is what we got in Halo 4=(

No, just having one playlist is not good enough at all.

MOST playlists should allow full use of player models, each of which should be shaped and scaled to be similar enough to a Spartan that the differences don’t matter. Rather a couple of playlists should feature restrictions, such as Invasion, SWAT, MLG/Throwdown, and Snipers, each of which would be pre-set character models.

For the sake of awesomeness, it would be cool if Covie SWAT, Forerunner SWAT, and a Beam Rifles and Binary Rifles gametype also used alien character models. They would be in the same playlist but as voted types.

When I play Team Slayer, Big Team, and Rumble Pit and other basic lists, I don’t want to be limited in my appearance whatsoever, it removes the immersion from the game for me and many others.

Why doesn’t 343 make it so that you can shoot through the top part of an elite’s back to get a headshot and register shots to the front part of an elite’s head as a bodyshot? That way elites still look like elites while having the same hitboxes?

> Why doesn’t 343 make it so that you can shoot through the top part of an elite’s back to get a headshot and register shots to the front part of an elite’s head as a bodyshot? That way elites still look like elites while having the same hitboxes?

Halo 2 and 3 already let you do this. People still complained.

If the Elites stood the same way they did in Reach, and were just scaled down in size, it would be balanced and fair, and noone would have anything legitimate to complain about.
