> Perhaps the needle sniper could work like this new gun where you tag the target and the gun won’t shoot unless it will hit. Or maybe it could work where you tag a target, shoot up in the air if they are behind cover and then you have to keep the reticule on the tagged enemy and the needle will track. Of course you wouldn’t have to fire up in the air if you have a direct line of sight.

This sounds like a creative and unique covie sniper that’s actually useful and has been missing from the sandbox for over a decade. I approve

I wanna see a Needeler turret replace the Plasma turret. That might actually be useful compared to the Machine gun.

What about a Plasma Carbine as a loadout weapon, like the carbine and needle rifle, just that it can fires rounds in quick succession, minimal recoil and prone to overheating for balance but kills quickly.Like an assault rifle and DMR all rolled into one.The Covies have been famous for making weapons that don’t use magazines, but batteries instead.Incorporate that with precision accuracy and you get an all you can eat buffet of well delivered plasma shots. This weapon really suits my playstyle as it requires accuracy and delivers quick kills once the weapon is understood.

Ever since Halo 2, I’ve always played as a Sangheili in Multiplayer.
Truth be told, I was honestly surprised to find that Sangs were not playable in Halo 4. Surprised and thoroughly disappointed.

Sure, I currently play a Spartan-IV, but that’s purely because I don’t have a choice.
Give me that choice, and I can guarantee that you’ll find me as a hinge-jawed, purple-blooded alien forever onwards.
And of course, the icing on the proverbial cake would be a range of armour permutations equal to that of the S-IVs.

If 343 Industries are reading this, I humbly ask you to hear us out and take into consideration the wishes of Halo’s Sangheili fans. Thank you.

What color plasma? I’d go with red. We already have blue for the SR and green for the PP.

But I don’t know if we need a another Covenant rifle with a high fire rate when that’s what the Carbine’s all about.

The Needle rifle makes more sense to me but it’d look cool.

I remember when this thread was first posted. I honestly didn’t think much of the elites, but now im getting bored of just fighting other Spartans I prefer some variety in the game so I REALLY hope that 343i adds Elites in Halo 5 as a playable skin so we can have INVASION back as well.

The previously mentioned needle sniper is a good idea.

Needle shotgun is uneeded, we have a sword.

Needle grenade is uneeded if we bring spike grenades back

We already have a plasma Repeater for that role.

We have the shade turret.

Copy pasta from the CSF website:

"Needle rifle should have been included as a two round burst weapon that would take 7 bursts to kill (body) and 5 bursts to kill (head). It would also cause some AoE if a player died to body shots.

Repeater could have been included as a anti-light vehicle assault rifle where it does lesser damage than the storm rifle and shoots slower but has a longer range and causes a larger heat flash on a mongoose or warthog drivers screen. Personally I wouldn’t have done it but it could have been done."

Obviously I was talking about Halo 4 but the ideas could be just as relevant in Halo 5. And for the love of all that is good bring back the plasma rifle.

Well, needles are sharp.

And they explode.

And they’re awesome and pink!

Thanks=)

Only 14 thanks away from 800 thanks on this thread and we are in the top of this forum=) If 343 hasn’t noticed this than it will be incredibly mind boggling to me!

The only problem is that the Shade turret sucks. The Fuel Rod Shade turret was actually a threat in Reach’s campaign, along with the shielded Long Range turret.

Other than those two that have never been in Multiplayer the Shade sucks in every way possible. Besides, needles are cool and the Heavy Needle turrets already exist in canon.

Yeah but if there were a separate faction like Jackal pirates, seeing them armed with nothing but Needle based weapons would look awesome. So a shot gun could work for them.

The Needle grenade doesn’t have to work like a Spike grenade.

I always thought that the Plasma Repeater was the Covenant equivalent of the Assault rifle while the Plasma rifle was the equivalent of the SMG. The only LMGs that Halo was even close to having were the Needler and maybe the Brute plasma rifle.

And like it’s already been said I wouldn’t mind seeing the Shade along with the Plasma turret replaced with a Needle based gun.

I’d call the Pirates the Pink mist, that’d be awesome!

So, if Elites are in Halo 5, do you guys think there will be different types faction-wise?

You know, like:

'Mdama Faction
Arbiter Faction

This would be a great way to incorporate as many armor sets as possible.

A Storm Covenant Minor, then a Traditional Minor.

Storm Covenant Major, Traditional Officer

Storm Zealot, Traditional Zealot

Etc, etc.

Absolutely agree that Arbiter’s Elite should be traditional while Jul’s are the new ones.

I’d like it if there were are real physical change as well. The Storm Elites have these gruesome claws and fangs and look like monsters.

I’d like it if the Arbiter’s Elites didn’t have all those monstrous features.

I think the Elites had their time in multiplayer and it’s best without them since they never feel properly balanced too me. It was either they were to strong, too weak, harder to see, easier to shoot at and miss, whatever the way they were built they don’t fit in anymore in my opinion.

They always had the same basic Spartan traits, and in Halo 3 and 2 the same hitboxes, so the difference was always purely aesthetical…

Then I suggest a game mode where it is only spartans vs spartans, but we should still be able to play as Sangheili. Elites have been a part of Halo’s multiplayer ever since 2 and just like when people say they don’t like fighting Covenant or even Flood, I can’t see how people say they like Halo but don’t want Elites in
Halo! They are part of what makes Halo Halo and I want them back with Halo 5, because Halo 4 barely feels or looks like a Halo! That is the important stuff in my opinion not the fact that we always have sprint now, that and some other additions to the game are in my opinion logical evolutions, but taking away something that if this thread is any indication a lot of people want is not logical!

They worked great in Halo 3. The only problems back then were that you couldn’t shoot them in the back of the head(Really bad in SWAT), and you could throw grenades through their necks. Two really annoying issues that could easily be fixed by just changing the hitboxes.

The only time they were truly unbalanced was in Reach where they could move faster, regenerate health, were taller, and could jump higher.

The only thing I disagree with here is that I don’t think height is really an issue as all it requires is moving the reticule a miniscule amount.
