They’re only like a foot taller than Spartans on average. With their necks hunched down, or if they’re standing with their knees bent to lower their center of balance then they would be at height with a Spartan.
Boom, problem solved. Can I get to shoot at Elites yet again?
You’re kind of freaking me out- Do you have an elite fursona or something? I kid, I kid. I agree that elites should be allowed, so long as they find a way to work around the annoying neck-bulge-that-blocks-headshots-from-the-back dillema that made Halo 3 SWAT annoying as hell to play. After all, so long as it’s balanced from a gameplay perspective, moar customization means moar fun.

The problem isn’t their height, it doesn’t take much to move your reticle up a bit. Its other things like the speed they run and the canon needed to implement them into multiplayer. They need to be equally powerful with neither side having an advantage.

So, make them have the same speed and same height. I don’t see how that breaks canon and more importantly it works well for multiplayer. Elites and Spartans can maintain the same walking speed, I greatly doubt that’s impossible.
The problem with giving Elites more height is that if you’re turning a corner and aiming at Spartan level you’ll be messed up if it turns out to be an Elite. Sure you can just aim up a little, but who’s it going to harm for the Elite to be a little lower to the ground?
> Anyone see the theory that the Halo 5 trailer is taking place on one of the moons of Sangheilios? It could explain why the Chief is trying to mask his appearance, and if it is then I would be very surprised if we didn’t see any elites in MP.
There is already a lot of logical backing and reasoning that chief could be on the Ark. I believe it’s in a thread around here somewhere…

It breaks canon by saying Spartans are as fast as Elites. I personally just want Elites in multiplayer, but 343 wants canon. We could say that Elites are wearing a tougher yet heavier armor that slows them down to Spartan speed. While height won’t just affect the Spartans it’ll affect the Elites. If an Elite is expecting a Spartan he might be aiming down and be surprised with another Elite or the other way around. Honestly skill will determine the battle since people jump all over the place sometimes which quickly gives them a height advantage and means rapidly needing to move your reticle, the same principle will likely apply to a surprised Spartan finding an Elite around the corner.
> Anyone see the theory that the Halo 5 trailer is taking place on one of the moons of Sangheilios? It could explain why the Chief is trying to mask his appearance, and if it is then I would be very surprised if we didn’t see any elites in MP.
Another theory is that Chief has gone rogue and has to hide his appearance. If this is true maybe he has sought help from the Arbiter. Maybe they made him an honorary Sangheili=)

Okay, can someone send 343 an email telling them to drop the multiplayer is canon thing? Seriously, this is just getting ridiculous with how complicated things need to get made at this point. A difference in height creates an advantage for somebody, making them the same height hurts nobody.
Canon dictating multiplayer only hurts the game, that’s something 343 should’ve picked up on by now. If you’re really that upset by this I hope you realize all Spartans and Elites aren’t constantly moving at breakneck speed, they can maintain the same pace.
How to incorporate Elites (and maybe young warrior-servants into multiplayer) The friendly Elites and maybe Forerunners if they return train with the SPARTAN-IVs

The Arbiter seems to be the first person that MC would go to if he went rogue. Though he might still go to the Arbiter if he didn’t go rogue. I personally think that the Arbiter is one of Chief’s closest friends.

I think he is his only remaining friend from the games=( Hopefully he doesn’t go the way of the Keyes, Johnson, and Cortana!

The thing is they aren’t friends, they have a mutual respect, but Arbiter (and Lasky) would be the first people Chief would go to

In all honesty, Chief has known Lasky for a couple days at most. I doubt Chief even remembered who Lasky was when they met on Requiem.
The only real friends Chief would have left would be Blue team. Fred, Kelly, and Linda have been friends with the Chief since he was 6. When you compare friends you’ve known for several decades to some random guy you saved a long time ago who’s happy to see you, your old friends are going to be a lot more trustworthy and understanding.

I always thought that Chief and Arby’s friendship was an interesting plot point. Because of the spartan program Chief really doesn’t have a place in human society and ironically fits in more with the Arbiter and his people. Likewise because of his role as the Arbiter, besides Half-Jaw I really don’t think the Arbiter would have a lot of friends among his own people. Either way Chief and Arby make one of the most epic bromannces of all time and they should reunite in Halo 5.

Yeah, but Lasky is currently one of the only people with Chief, along with Arbiter
note: I forgot about Blue Team for a second lol, I think Chief is under the assumption they are dead because he hasn’t seen them in ages, but seeing them would make Chief feel much better and it would be interesting to see them return

It would be interesting to see blue team reunited. Another reason why that hasn’t happened yet is that blue team probably thinks Chief is dead as well.

Lasky is also a friend of Chief, and I think Cortana is going to make a comeback. I personally would like to see an Elite (could be Thel) join Chief in his quest. The Elite could be looking for the same thing Chief is looking for. I forgot about blue team as well. Maybe we’ll see them reunited in 5 or 6, it would be nice.
Has anyone given any thought about the Unnamed Shipmaster and the year dates that were presented in the Return? The fact that they found a certain object, and if canon, could make an impact on Halo late on. Just wanted to point that out.
IMHO (and keep in mind, i notmally play as a spartan) i think that if they are going to include elites, they should include them at their full height, and with w/e advantage(s) they have normally. When i played reach customs against people, not many used the elites, even though it was possible to, and it wasnt very hard to fight the elite players in custom games or in invasion. I find it foolish when people nitpick and say its soo hard to fight elites in multiplayer, when people everyday are fighting them in campaign on legendary, some people do it solo, and some people even do it with all skulls on, which makes the elites considerably harder than a normal player. And yet, people still do it without complaining, heck, some people, me included, do it for fun sometimes. With this, i comclude that it would not be a problem to include elites in multiplaer as far as balance goes, but the parts that are gonna be troubling are the canon of them being in multiplayer, and their loadouts and abilities
