Sangheili (Elites) In New Trilogy Matchmaking (Part 1)

I also think they shouldn’t have messed with Chief’s armor and had him wear his old armor just a little longer in Halo 4. They could have used the new armor as mark 7 and had him acquire it on Infinity which would have made more sense. This would have given Halo 4 a little nostalgia while at the same time introduced the new armor. I guess I will just have to believe that is what really happened and hope they play it smarter with the Arbiter.

Yeah the helmet is to much in my opinion to, but the rest of it looks pretty cool.

Heh, no kidding. Especially since he has always looked smooth on the skin anyways, even Halo 2 showed him off as is. Or maybe that was because of the tech at the time…

Yeah, the helmet seems a little off to me- maybe it’s too much like a regular Storm Elite’s helmet. Other than that, though, he looks awesome

I agree, but if there going to give him scales they should at least not make him look monstrous sense I herd something about the sanghili being reptilian or reptilian like in appearance.

I would like to ask any sanghili expert to correct me if Im wrong.

Seeing as how the Arbiter is normally covered in armor and the only skin you can see is his head, which is the least scaly part even in Halo 4, he shouldn’t look too different. Other than his armor covering more of his body(legs & arms didn’t fully provide protection) or the exact ornamental design being slightly altered I can’t think of any reasonable design changes. Then again this is 343, the people who changed Chief’s armor and the FuD for no reason.

O do not even get me started on Chief’s armor and FuD! It would have been so much easier to just use the original mark 6 in the beginning and use the new armor as mark 7 and have him acquire it on Infinity. Not to mention they have him wear the new armor in the cutscenes that according to lore should have him wearing mark 4 or mark 5 at least. And, of course there is the whole question of how the Forward Unto Dawn magically became a whole new class of frigate. And to think some people claim Halo 4 was the best one, or fans were reassured that Halo was in good hands! Perhaps new fans who at best played a couple of multiplayer rounds of Reach were impressed by 343, but if I’m any example then hardcore fans were anything but impressed or reassured! 343 has at best displayed rushed products and at worst has shown lazy writing and development of their games and books, and a complete lack of respect for the lore of Halo, and the hardcore fans of Halo! They have tried to cater to the kind of fans who will only leave for the newest Call of Duty (I joined them rather play Halo 4) and now they are paying for it in the way that Halo 4 can barely get 2000 players in TDM some times. I wouldn’t be surprised if Halo 4 had less players than Reach soon! 343 has tried to coast on the good name of Halo and they found out it will not work because there are other companies out there who do a better job of paying attention to their fans (Bungie?). If 343 does not get their $#@$ together then I will leave!

to be fair, it could have been a lot worse.
we could have gotten a Halo : Colonial Spartans fiasco, or HalO (a la DmC fiasco). it’s not a bad game per se. it’s a bad HALO GAME, which means it’s a “bad good game”.
look at the positive points : the music is fantastic. graphics are pretty good (high res textures, detailed models, etc), consistent framerate, no ghost image like in reach, etc. it’s not in bad hands, it’s just not in the most optimal hands.
they just want the COD audience.

(and just wait till the nextbox reveal, you can bet your -Yoink- it’ll have some kind of social feature like the ps4, and I can see BS like “press Share to finish level” or waggle to reload rocket launcher!)

I know 343 did do some stuff right, but my point was I wasn’t reassured and in my opinion Halo 4 is not the best, it may in fact be the worst Halo ever. But, I’ll admit I did go overboard on my rant and for that I apologize. I hope that 343 keeps their word this time and fixes their mistakes in Halo 5 like O’Connor said.

I’m not completely reassured either (particularly after their GDC panel where they say “we need to lower the skill gap and make it more accessible” because it’s the complete opposite they should be striving for) but at least halo is not being handled by ubisoft (milking & rehashes), EA (“MOAR MICROTRANSACTION and fire devs for more moneys lol”) or activision (same game every year).

the skill gap thing shouldn’t have anything to do with Elites.

we ARE a bit off topic with that studio vs studio discussion :stuck_out_tongue: we all hope for elites to be in mp again though.

One last comment on studio vs studio. Did you guys hear Ea got exclusive rights to make Star Wars games! The scene where Obi Wan says “I felt a great disturbance in the force as if millions of voices cried out in terror”, “I fear something terrible has happened”! If 1313 does get made I bet we will see stuff like pay $20 for blaster shots, or subscribe to get Bobba Fett armor or pay $50 for it even though it should already be in the game!

Bring back Elites!

> Bring back Elites!

I agree. I’ve been playing Invasion this weekend and it’s been more awesome than any playlist in Halo 4.

to comment on that and to end it once and for all that’s a market crash waiting to happen.

now ont he main subject, I do have to say not having Elites in multiplayer was one of the biggest disappointments in 2012.

Though I prefer being a spartan being able to play as an elite would CERTAINLY help the population! It needs to happen!

you know what I’d love? have elites have good armors (never been done, reach’s armors weren’t too bad but not great), as many armors as spartans (unlike in halo 3) AND no disadvantages (like in halo 2).

is it too much to ask? all 343i has to do is LITERALLY go to deviantart, type “sangheli armor” or “elite armor” and see the hundreds of fan concepts already done for them.
or they could do like UT3, where you have lots of armor part that can equip individually instead of sets (left shoulder, right shoulder, torso, head, left leg, right leg, left boot, right boot). I have always wanted to play as a helmetless elite without any chest/shoulder/arms armor ;.;

343 would probably have to pay fans for their concept art if they used it. Personally if my concept art got in game then I wouldn’t care, but there is always the risk of lawsuit.

Also some mentioned starting an Elite clan a while back is there anyone still interested in making? If so what will be the clan tag?

> Though I prefer being a spartan being able to play as an elite would CERTAINLY help the population! It needs to happen!

indeed and its ncie to have Spartan fans that want the Elites to return.
