YES!! Bring back the Elites!
haven’t ben here for some time.
> I’ve always wondered what Halo could be if they created an alternative invasion mode that’s not too dissimilar to Gears Of War’s Horde mode, but in Halo the COG soldiers would be Spartans and the Locusts various forces of the Covenant that goes up in difficulty as the waves progress.

> Either team can have human players on it (up to a total of 4 for each), and would play much like Firefight except there would be two rounds with one phase each. Once the Spartan team is overrun from the Covenant horde, roles are reversed. End game metadata dictates which team wins by factoring in how long each of the Spartan teams lasted for in their respective rounds and how many Covenant they killed as well as the score that they got for the kills. Higher ranked Grunts, Elites, etc, net higher scores for the defending team.

Spawn points for the Spartan players are Pelicans situated at the other end of the map guarded by two other Pelicans also preventing spawnkilling.

> The design of the map forces the the two teams to converge at the center with strong points that favor the Spartans so that they have a decent defense against the ever oncoming horde of Covenant.
>
> Covenant players will be able to use an endless supply of low ranked Grunts, but higher tiers of Covenant military (such as high ranking Elites or Hunters or even vehicles that may be piloted by Grunts and Elites) require more “points” to be used. For their efforts, Spartans receive dropped-in weapons and vehicles as well as the occasional health kit.
looking at this idea its kind of a throw back to Halo Wars but would be more of a First Person shooter type deal, and perhaps far more brutal.
Of course there could be different versions of this, you could have Classic Mode which is the UNSC vs Covenant like in ye old days
or
Civil War options where it is Red vs Blue, this could apply to both UNSC and Covenant Forces. Spartans vs Spartans with Marine support on either side but color coded and perhaps some of the ordinance drops could be different when a point counter reaches a certain tier and behave much like invasion, and escalate the battle as it progresses. The same would apply to the Sangheili using just the old Covenant units such as grunts, jackals, and so forth.
On that you have Spartan IV recruits as heavier supporting NPCs in one end (along with the Marines), and then you have Sangheili Minors to support the Player Sangheili in the others. Of course I haven’t thought of fleshing out more details until I am more awake than this.
And then finally going along the course of Halo’s Reclaimer Trilogy there will be “Alliance” mode while its the same concept its pretty much players vs AI (put it on Legendary for extra entertainment) you have the Storm faction with Promethean support (Along with whatever new units are along side them) vs the Arbiter’s spec ops teams with Spartan IVs to fight along side.
anyway feel free to expand on this, like stated I just woke up.

Keep the Ideas comming.
Welp, only 5 more pages till we reach the all time magic number on this topic…though things do see to go rather slow lately >_>
So how about a new customization option were Elites would get to customize the look of their skin and maybe change little details like a blind eye. When you choose to be an Elite you could get separate backgrounds in the menus.

That might be a bit too much, right now armor is only thing that can be customized in terms of appearance and it might not be a good idea to shift that. But getting seperate backgrounds does sound like a neat idea!
There should be a feature where players can choose to speak english or sangheili when playing as them.

If they included the Sangheili language in Halo 5 they would need the Sangheili dictionary within the game, and maybe as part of a special edition. Its a great idea for the most dedicated fans of the Sangheili.

any of these ideas will work, and hoping 343, will hear us all out.
All things considered new armors that deviate away from the more traditional ones would be pretty nice.
If there was a hybrid armors of Spartan and Sangheili combat suits would mark such an alliance quite well, especially against the Promethean forces under Jul or whatever the hell such an alliance would face.
Though still how would an alliance be forged now that there isn’t a greater threat that neither side see clearly just yet? Unless the entirety of the galaxy has to be near that pinnacle of destruction again to make that happen again.

I guess so. chances are the flood are not evan out yet, plus we still have like what?, 4 or 5 halo rings left?.

Well there could be more Forerunners, the flood could return from unexplored space, the flood’s return could mean the return of the Precursors, and the Covenant could return under a new prophet claiming the Didact as proof of their religion and the need to wipe out humanity (this would have been better than Jul’s faction in my opinion). Perhaps the story could go like this, the prophet of Mercy falls under flood influence but not to the point of being transformed, he discovers the flood are actually an extension of the Precursor’s will and falls under their influence. After the destruction of the Ark the prophet of Mercy hides away with some loyal forces (including engineers) and begins to experiment with the flood and uses a captured spartan (noble 6?) to try make Brute spartans. The prophet then learns of the Didact’s attack on Earth and uses it to reunite the Covenant while at the same time plots to betray the Forerunners because of the influence of the flood/Precursors. One thing leads to another and eventually the Precursors invade with the help of a reunited Covenant and Humanity, the Arbiter’s followers, and a Forerunner remnant have to unite to stop them.
This is just my ideas on how it could go. Does anyone else have any?

Maybe Jul will find another forerunner cache of ships like the covenant did in Halo wars.
agree 100% if they don’t allow elites to be in every MP match at least make a mode where Spartans and Elite Extremists fight it would be epic. unfortunately GoW Judgment is in a similar fate. please don’t take the Elites out.
Keep up the good spirit guys! Right now I’m tapped with struggling to keep a positive mind for this thread.
Jul & Halsey may possibly find the Didact amongst their travels sometime…
Honestly the idea of a “New Covenant” does seem like a good idea in the long run having humanity and what not.
Though I do not know a -Yoink!- thing about the Precursors however judging how some of you have mentioned them, they’re a threat.
In which perhaps both the UNSC and other alien species have a bad run in with them galaxy wide…and now Mass Effect 3 is coming to mind I’ll stop here before anything else get typed up.
why don’t they have a Competitive Playlist with spartans only and a social Playlist with spartans and Elites mixed.
> why don’t they have a Competitive Playlist with spartans only and a social Playlist with spartans and Elites mixed.
This idea has been mentioned before and if it meant the return of the Elites I’d be fine with it, but I’d like to play as an Elite in both playlists and not be segregated.

I’d like more variety than just the Covenant, but I don’t want to say goodbye to the Covenant all together.
And here is a link about the Precursors !warning potential future spoilers? http://www.halopedia.org/Precursor
even if they have the same gametypes?
