This puzzles me as well, they had it for halo 2, why not for halo 3 and onwards?

I am a bit of a lone wolf, but it would be cool to play with the most loyal and determined Sangheili warriors=)
while I find joining an elite clan intresting. I’d like to keep my emblem.
stil I wish you all good luck on your clan.
anyway does anyone else have anythign intresting to bring to the table.

Drivable vampires?
Had to share this with you guys. For some reason makes me think of an Elite singing about their exclusion. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pzHEqwVxigs&list=PLF813F321ED14A1CB&index=22

That would be awesome, maybe make it a three/four seater, pilot with two cannons in the front, one gunner on each side, and then one gunner on the top needler turret, it could even fill the role that the 343 devs were looking for a covenant equivalent for the falcon/hornet.
(As for the clan, we could probably fit in lone wolves as skirmishers but idk what we’d do for the emblems)

that sounds cool, how about drivable phantoms?.

If they could put in a sort of invasion + dominion mode on a huge map with drivable phantoms, vampires, liches, pelicans, falcons, etc I think that would be one of the most epic things to happen to halo. (maybe even include flood in it some how hehe)
Actually I was thinking of a single pilot. The vampire is about 2 banshees large and the cockpit seems to be rather small. Also, I think the hawk should come in to serve as its counter-part. The vampire is equipped with its stasis drain (bomb), which will drain health from vehicles and will charge up a “bomb”, which will do more damage when more health is drained. It is also armed with the heavy needle cannon, it fires projectiles that travel at the same speed at an rocket launcher and is devastating against air craft. Finally, it has side plasma turrets that are slightly less powerful than the plasma cannon. Ultimately, it beats the hawk although it is more vulnerable to ground than its counter part. It would also need to play on extremely large maps, and I can go over the hawk if you guys want me to.

I was thinking about balancing, probably you could cut out the front turrets and just keep the two side ones and the needler cannon, but I’m not sure how the stasis bomb would play out in terms of balancing, unless you made it a bit like the pulse grenade.

Keep this in mind, the way I’m designing the hawk and vampire’s function is to be the ultimate aircraft, but they can only play on maps at the very least the size of forge world. And those maps mean: lots of power weapons, lots of ground vehicles, and lots of chaos to counter these from bieng too powerful.

Sure, sounds like a fun idea. Just make sure we don’t go up against UNSC Vultures. Sure, they are slow but my god they have a hell of a punch with their Missile Barrage.

The only thing that disturbs me about the vulture/lich is how to access them, you know… How to get inside of them and fly em, otherwise I can probably think of ideas for them in about 10 minutes
Hmm I think Pelicans and Phantoms could be implemented like the transport helicopters from Battlefield 3 but of course not as sucky.

Pelican: carries more troops
Phantom: carries more vehicles

Imagine the hanger bay of a CCS class cruiser, I picture Lich’s being docked so you can board them from the side and the gravity lift being used more for cargo and combat drops… Maybe the vulture would be similar?
But in terms of actual gameplay I’d see people piloting the lich down to low altitude or close to some kind of ‘platform’ (like the entrance of the arena/hanger on forge world or the large rock formations) and letting teammates jump in. But putting in a working gravity lift may not be impossible…
What do you guys think about having operation covenant ‘mega-turrets’ in this hypothetical invasion/dominion mode? Humans would need a counter balance too, but I think it would be awesome for base defense.

On the subject of clan emblems I would like to suggest my design of black energy swords on a blank background. I used to have a spartan helmet emblem but I switched it after they took Elites away. Also my Xbox is broken so I wouldn’t be able to join a clan until next month when I have more money.

I would suggest the trident, mark of shame, runes, energy swords, or one of the new halo 4 emblems (idk the new ones), but considering most of these ones are only in halo 3 with a few in halo reach, I don’t think it would work too well…
But we could just stick with a uniform tag and have emblems be free form…
(storm coming where I live, may be my last post for tonight if I loose power)
I just hope Emblems could be easily see able like they were in Halo 3. Like how the Elite’s had their Emblem on their right shoulder and on their back.

Yeah, I loved how they had them on their back, speaking of which, I really like those back pack things they had, I know the elites in halo reach were taller, but I was sad when they were missing those backpack things…
