It actually is.

The Mark of Shame was always a symbol of damnation. Those branded with the mark are executed soon after as a way of showing mercy (yes, mercy, it was that shameful). Thel 'Vadam was the first to survive the branding of the Mark, but only due to his gaining of the title of Arbiter. After the Arbiter led the Separatists, and the rank of Arbiter was no longer seen as a disgraceful one, the Mark of Shame’s meaning changed to the rallying symbol of Thel’s separatists. I hope this stays. I love the way the Mark changed from a symbol of shame to a symbol of hope.

Works fine there.

Depends of the position of the Elites in the current timeline. Who knows? For all we know ONI could’ve done them in with the poisonous crop.

Don’t say that! D:

If that were the case, there would be serious repercussions that we would still be seeing by the time of Halo 4. Would the UEG, and the people (if word ever came out to the general public), ever allow such genocide? In my opinion, I don’t think so. ONI wouldn’t be able to keep such a disaster under wraps. They couldn’t blame it on a natural mutation, could they? Goodness me. I really hope not. D:

For me, it all comes down to where Traviss puts her moral lines in her third instalment, and how the arc of Thel’s visit to Infinity went. In Glasslands and Thursday War, the morals of kilo-five and ONI were completely out of line (I’ll keep on topic. No more rants from me on this subject, thanks! xD ). If this is still the case in the third instalment… Well. If this was in another situation, I’d have no doubt that ONI’s genocide plan failed or was stopped, but with Traviss? Who knows. D:

Anyway, I don’t think it will happen. There’s already serious opposition from much of the community over the other controversy Traviss has brought up in her books. It would seriously affect her reputation within the community if such a thing as genocide against the Sangheili were to happen. Though, again (as with most of my posts), I can’t tell whether it’s a case of “they can’t” or “I don’t want them to”. :stuck_out_tongue:

Lets hope the vist went well and that Thel can Finaly help the humans in fighting Jul, and if ONI ever hopes to survive helsy and Jul’s onslaught? they would spare the sanghili on Thel’s planet.

| Let us not forget the events of The Return, which took place sometime in 2559.
So as of then there’s at least one known Ship Master who is still active, among the others mentioned. This all took place on Kholo, which there is a slight nod towards in Halo 4’s multiplayer map Adrift. That piece of the timeline is not to far off seeing as the events of Spartan Ops Season 1 began on February 8th, 2558 and ended sometime later that month.

Have faith my friends, I do not think this will be the end of the Sangheili. |

ONI could kill them and the public would support them. They were almsot exterminated by the Elites and have lost many family members because of that. I could see them supporting ONI.

Third installment of the Travisty will probably mostly focus on Kilo-5 and wrap their existence up and focus little on Elites. So we won’t get an answer there.

Only reason 343 couldn’t kill the Elites is because the community would explode.

Not all the public would agree with the complete genocide of a race, they might agree on killing an amount of them, but not all the public have the same opinion.

In Glasslands and Thursday War, the morals of kilo-five and ONI were completely out of line (I’ll keep on topic. No more rants from me on this subject, thanks! xD ). If this is still the case in the third instalment… Well. If this was in another situation, I’d have no doubt that ONI’s genocide plan failed or was stopped, but with Traviss? Who knows. D:

It would seriously affect her reputation within the community if such a thing as genocide against the Sangheili were to happen. Though, again (as with most of my posts), I can’t tell whether it’s a case of “they can’t” or “I don’t want them to”. :stuck_out_tongue:

ONI is probably going to realise they can at least use the Elites. Though if they want control over their “ally” then their probably going to use Brutes since they are predictable and typically not very intelligent when it comes to technology. An alliance with Sanghelios would be benefitial for both sides, and would help Humanity thwart any enemies until they build a very powerful fleet. Though ONI will likely make a defense against the Elites for the possibility of the attempt to dishonour the alliance in the future or for any rebellions against the alliance like Jul’s Remnant.

When the public has had their population reduced by about 80%, the majority will call for genocide. So the ones who think some of the race should be spared would be in the minority. And ONI isn’t exactly known for doing what the public wants.

Also have to consider that Thel and his Elites helped Humanity survive extinction in the end. With that some people might have more of a hate toward any Elite that would attack them with a lessened hate toward Thel and his Elites for helping save them. Your right about ONI, they might capture some Elites for study like they did with Jul. Though i’m not entirely sure what ONI’s specific goal is. Is it advancement no matter what or protection of humanity no matter what?
