There’s no explanation on how a player could teleport (this technology shouldn’t be available to humanity at this point), or respawn. Anyway, according to the little we know, a Sangheili model could be overlaid onto the Spartan-IV (albeit at a smaller size to keep hit-boxes somewhat in line) in the same manner Hologram works. Though we know relatively nothing of how it works, (How can a Mantis suddenly appear on the battlefield, when human holographics shouldn’t be able to be physically touched at this point? Or when Slipspace translocation hasn’t yet been achieved by humanity? We haven’t seen this in any other pieces of human technology thus far) it could be possible for a Sangheili to be used a vehicle somehow (yes, that’s weird). On the other hand, (if I’m wrong, and human holographics are as advanced as the Forerunner’s) a Sangheili could be used as kind of War Games avatar, like, I assume, a Monitor would be in Forge (if Forge is seen as canon).

Or it could be a real battle not on Infinity at all or multiplayer canon could be forgotten period!
If there were to be Elites that would go against Jul, they should make second-fourth players be Elites, like Halo 3 did. It’d give an old feeling, but also a new feeling at the same time.

I think you misinterpret. The Sangheili made Halo what it is now. And this is true, is it not? Story-wise and multi-player-wise. In story, humanity would have ceased to exist without the Arbiter’s counsel, the Separatists, and, in effect, the Schism. Where would we be then? Having playable Sangheili brought a new dimension to Halo games, if not FPS games in general, by giving a viewpoint of the then-enemy race, not only in campaign but multi-player in general. This changed the way we saw multi-player, it added variety relatively unseen before.

I’m not disputing that at all, but we literally both don’t know what Bungie’s plans were if the Elites as a whole weren’t in Halo.
You can’t exactly say that humanity would have ceased to exist if it wasn’t for the Arbiter, because that wouldn’t have been a part of the storyline at all if Elites weren’t in.
The rest I can agree on completely, apologies for the misinterpretation.

It’s fine, we all do it.
You’re right, though I guess we wouldn’t be in this situation if Sangheili didn’t exist. xD

I think thats one thing they should get rid of. I think elites should be playable. Canon or Not.

It’s a shame, really. There’s so many directions a multi-player canon could go, many of them negating the loss of options and including Sangheili. They just chose the wrong one. It could have worked really well, but it didn’t. It’s a real shame.
Well, it seems we won’t be having a Covenant multi-player map. It’s bad enough to lose my Sangheili, but my favourite type of map as well? Bah. I was hoping Perdition might change to a Covenant theme, as many had asked for.

well we still have Halo 5 to go on so don’t worry.
By the Oracle…324 pages… so many thinks I didn’t even think were humanly possible. Onward my brothers, let us return to Halo and crush these demons beneath our feet!!
The Sangheili community would not be the same even if they put sangheili back in the game. It wouldn’t be a bad idea to move on. Plus, these new generation sangheili get worse the longer they go untreated. Not that Im saying they shouldn’t put them back in MM.

I find it rather difficult to simply “Move on” when you have a community that has been playing as the Sangheili during 2004 all the way for at least 9 years now. You can’t really get rid of such an epic experience that easily…

Of course it wouldn’t be the same. I wouldn’t want it too be the same. I would love to have Sangheili back in a new way.

Fighting Elites is actually bringing the story to multiplayer. Its like fighting on a really hard difficulty when in invasion. When you mentioned invasion I got an nice idea. Increase Spartan Ops party size to 8, the other half is going to be Elites attempting to stop you. It’ll actually put in invasion elements. Like the Elites get this one wraith to defend this objective, but the Spartans can get to this spartan laser drop in the distance to kill the wraith, so the Elites also have to defend against the Spartans from getting the spartan laser. When the Spartans do win they move on to another objective in perhaps another area. When playing as an Elite you could be able to hear other Elites speak in english because you can understand them while Spartans will only hear the usual Elite talk. Elites will be spawned in the next area or respawned in the same area where the next objective will be, or they can be continuously spawned against the Spartans, but with either an increasing spawn timer or a fixed large spawn timer.
Enough with this MP canon, I want my Elites. Seriously, would it be realistic for a bunch of SPARTAN IVs to simulate Grifball? When would that happen in combat???
I have been trying to write a story about a Elite Spartan. Were the Elite is part machine and wears its special suit just like Master chief. But when I told my friend this idea, he said “The Elites are basically Spartans.” I guess he is right. But It would be nice to see a Elite with special Covenant armor on with a number Say 185 painted on his shoulder. He would have a cool space helmet too. I have faith in Halo 5 though, I have faith they will make the Elite community proud.
~Blargh!
> Still, the excitement that Spartan fans will get fighting Elite fans in multiplayer to simulate that epic battle for the stories always brought.
Heh, well considering that having cross species in multiplayer always felt pretty awesome in a sense instead of being stuck as one species. You know, it had that more…halo-ish feel to it that it is hard to explain really.
