I think the original reason they began to take out Elites was that more people played as spartans. Yet some of those spartans still enjoy fighting Elites in multiplayer and sometimes playing as them. So it doesn’t just affect Elite players, it also affects some Spartan players.

yes it does, but the reason is for canon reasons.

them too) but seeing them would’ve felt more Halo IMO. I have NEVER seen any feedback for anything else besides MM and playlists. some of the issues in Halo 4 are easily fixable, some can’t be fixed so easily. But yes, they can ask what we want, but its not our turn, yet.

Wow, after being gone away from this forum for a while does bring something more.
But, back on topic…
This is just a theory, but it could fit one more puzzle piece of why they are not in Halo 4 Multiplayer. Ever since Reach had the new discrimination of Spartans and Elites, the Elite population decreased. No exact calcs or proof, as it is a theory. And 343i/Microsoft noticed this and thought of “Oh, I guess players won’t mind if they were no longer playable.” This was a terrible mistake that they made, as many want them back, with 730 thanks (of the first original post of this thread) and with a few Spartan fans had spoken.
We want them back! They are apart of what made Halo 2 an even better game!
I think it would be cool even if they were to just try to do what they did in reach; just make separate playlists where you can play as elites.

if what darth says is true about it being learned that means they know what to do next time, and they will include elites again.

Specificly Playable Elites, in a playlist, all elites, all the time XD well if they go with that Idea atleast we can still be mixed in custom games.

I made a thread about Elites in the H4 forum. It’s about DLC that adds Elite ARMOR, allowing the player to still be a Spartan but look the part an Elite. Goes more in depth in the thread itself.

I hope that they also get in depth with the Elites civil war that took place after Halo 3 and before Halo 4. Because that is a very blurry spot when you play Halo 4.

It could be an Elite Ops in Halo 4 or Halo 5. It could also be a spin off game. It could go throughout everything from the war up to the modern times of Requiem, its death, and whatevers after.

Would have to make sure that the population is high enough to support the playlist. Bringing the population in might require satisfying all the parts of the community and making comprimises among some mini communities that oppose each other. That might also require the sacrifice of some cannon, but what is more important the cannon or the community. I personally think making the community happy is more important, because cannon can still be worked in afterwards by both 343 and the community.

Agreed. Its more fun to be able to fight both Spartans and Elites that are on the same team. It would also fix any population issues from occuring due to too many playlists splitting apart the population.

thats about right. and hey if thery can give elites the same posture as the elties from Halo 2, almost noone complained about it.

It might not be canon though since Elites are taller then Spartans. I honestly don’t know what the issue is with the height. Hitboxes are easy enough to hit wether being a spartan or an Elite. Anyone can headshot an Elite as much as a Spartan. You just have to aim a bit upward. Elites should just have a different crouch animation in multiplayer to allow them to crouch as low as Spartans so they don’t tend to pop out of cover. If the Elites are faster then Spartans then the Spartans might as well have some sort of bonus to counteract that, or the Elites can be nerfed down so they become about the same speed as Spartans and jump about the same height. Of course due to canon they might need to be a bare bit faster and give them a bit more height to their jump. That speed and jump height could be 0.1 more just to say that they are technically still faster and jump higher. Unless their is some sort of specific speed and jump height that Elites have within canon that I don’t know of.
