Sangheili (Elites) In New Trilogy Matchmaking (Part 1)

> > Hmm Perhaps if Precursors invade Jul and Humans will have to work together hence uniting Humans and Covenant and perhaps Forerunners rescuing the story. If 343 played their cards right than they could create an epic story that I think Human, Covenant, and Forerunner fans could all agree on. It is one my biggest fears that they will fail to see this and do something really stupid!
>
> Well I think actually it’d be more along the lines of the prometheans and Jul spreading the war and the Arbiter the Sangheili rallied (possibly with the other covenant races) to fight along side humanity against Jul and the forerunners.
>
> Then elites could be in Spartan Ops, multiplayer, and even single player co op, but if they are in multiplayer (which they better -Yoinking!- be), I hope they have seperate specializations, ranks, perks, and emblems. That would be awesome.

Yea, and Jul has half a key to a bunch of forerunner advancements for his troops. Halsey might be smart enough to make the other half. She did design the Infinity’s thruster which is forerunner tech. We actually might see Elites added into Halo 4 with Season 2 or later in the season because of all of this. We might even see a few Brutes in multiplayer which may be left over servants still loyal to their Elite masters.

The thing is 343 TRYED to make a story behind matchmaking, witch ruined the fun, it was better back then just you, random Spartans/elites no story, halo is now just a cardboard box without sangheili

I’m just about done with halo now

Thinking of going back to play Halo Reach. I miss Invasion and Elites. I liked playing in Boneyard. There was a rafter I could camp on near the stairs and it would let me assassinate the foolish Spartans. It was fun. And I enjoyed showing off my Officer Armor.

> Destiny is announced!!! Hopefully 343 brings it for the next Halo, I really would like to remain a fan of Halo but 343 cannot just coast on the name of Halo because there will be competition!

not to be offensive here but can we leave destiney out of the this topic.

we need to focus more on getting the elites playable.

so far evreyone has listed some good Ideas to put them in multiplayer.

maybe we can also have a fourrunner themed Armor and UNSC themned armor, Just leaving that out there.

What bummed me out in Reach was that you couldn’t play as an elite in an original firefight game :frowning: (no, not versus mode)

It’s not really that unimportant. Destiny will undoubtedly influence what will happen to games in the future. Same-team Factions, classes, joint teams. Things like that will influence all games made after Destiny is released, including Halo. As long as we stay reasonably on topic, we’re fine.

I’d prefer it if the Sangheili had just had armour influenced by their own, and their ancestors, designs. But that’s just my preference. Though it would be cool to have a FOTUS-like armour for Elites.

Me too. I wished that I could fight alongside my Spartan friends in Firefight… :frowning:

EDIT: Oh, and before I forget (which I have done, multiple times), I found this gem while reading through an update or so (don’t ask);

Bungie.net - 01/23/09

> But there is one aspect of the trailer and accompanying coverage in particular that has caused a little bit of confusion among Halo aficionados and speculators from around the World Wide Web - the presence of Brute packs patrolling the darkened alleyways of New Mombasa. And perhaps conversely, the absence of the Elites.
>
> We realize that the Elites are of a fan-favorite, so it’s probably wise to set aside your compassion and steel yourself for what is about to come. There are no Elites to fight in Halo 3: ODST.
>
> Still here? Good. Deep breaths. We wanted to clue you in early so you didn’t have a chance to let your expectations wind you into a whipping maelstrom of assumption and conjecture. Think of this as the intervention portion of this week’s update. Look, we care about you. We don’t like to see you get hurt.

Now, I know this is about fighting (and perhaps about playing as them in equal measure) Elites, but if 343 had done something similar I would have felt a hell of a lot better about this. Instead, we heard “Elites won’t be returning due to MP canon” (something along those lines, anyway). No emotion, no “we’re sorry to announce”, no anything. I know this will dampen the mood somewhat, but it had just occurred to me that I should should show it to you guys.

Yea Bungie in my opinion was kinda like a parent, they made sure to make Halo for us, and tried to make everyone happy. Even if they put someone down they gave us a “hug”. 343 just looks at us and slams the door in our face after they announce something. They don’t come in to the crowd that doesn’t like it and sit down with them.

well they lnew we would all get upset about something, so I don’t think Elites are out of the trilogy yet.

and I think they will be playable.

If they do add Elites it will benefit everyone. It’ll give more diversity to gameplay with playing as an Elite and fighting an Elite. Machinima makers who want to use Elites won’t have to go back to Reach or Halo 3 to make videos. If 343 ain’t gonna add Elites in I would at least want to be told instead of hoping every day that they’ll come back.

^Totally this. We’re with you on this. I am totally with you on 343 being the parent figure; I would feel much more comforted if we get an explanation. Anyway, now with Halsey alongside Jul, this does open doors for him since he is now allied with a very vengeful doctor and having one of the keys to Forerunner armory(?). Any ideas on what will be their next move?

And Halsey’s arm wasn’t dead, it was just missing in action :stuck_out_tongue:

Not to be kinda off topic on purpose but another thing that does confuse me is why can’t we lower our weapons in an “ONLINE” gameplay or in customs games like in Halo 2? I mean, we been told that it kinda exploits the controls and all that but seriously…how? It’s not like other players are just gonna stare at ya with your weapon lowered and be all like “Oh it seems he could be friendly!” I mean…that’s just something that has been bugging me. It is suppose to help Machinima’s and all that.

Well Halsey made forerunner engines for the Infinity (designed them), and the full key unlocks the locations of every piece of forerunner tech their is. So it might be possible for Halsey to make the other side of the key. They’re probably going to be trying to build their forces up and staying of radar if Halsey is building the other side of the key.
Though if she can’t build the other side of the key at all then Jul might start attacking the Infinity to get the other side of the key. Halsey might give Jul a tactical advantage if she knows UNSC tactics. She would generally bring a rather very powerful force of intelligence for Jul.
BTW Halsey’s arm is planning revenge on Jul’s Elites for removing it from Halsey.

They could make it that the UNSC finds a couple of i guess ‘heretics of jul’ so to speak and so on and forth

they also could add a new selection in the campaign menu next to the infinity selection you could choose the name of the heretics carrier like maybe VICTORIOUS LIGHT

also the elites could have different specializations than spartans

Any body agree?

I wouldn’t mind having a button set to get rid of all weapons and just have fists, and it would be pretty fun to just randomly walk around and stare at people as a big Elite. It might end up as a big -Yoink!- party with both teams. Halo has gotten a bit to strict in some of its ways.

somebody asked them the same question, then team looked at eachother, and they said yes but it turned out it didn;t happen

double post…sorry

That would be cool to have a seperate screen and everything from Spartans. For the specializations I would rather that each have the same specs with diffrent names, but each side might get a few extra specs unique to their side. 343 might just keep it as the same specs for both sides due to possible balancing issues.

Was looking around and saw two posts that gave me two Ideas.
One - When respawning if we get a timer we actually immedialty spawn in a drop pod that heads for the ground. The timer would affect the speed of the pod or where its starts falling from. The design could be by species or by the choice of the player.
Two - Having an Elite ops would definitly let us see that even though the Remnant aren’t all covenant war vets they can still win some battles. As far i’ve seen humanity is like a steamroller that destroys everything in its path. Playing in an Elite ops we would be able to see that they’re not all so invincible and that they are still vulnerable to loses. It would present players with the opportunity to actually see that their is still some degree of struggle. They could just test it out with an episode of Elite ops to see how many people play it.

Damn this thread is still here? I’m impressed. I find it interesting that 343 wants to keep a back story behind MM and its focusing more on the UNSC’s side of the story, but whats their excuse on playing as Flood? Because there is none that I can see.

Hell, it be a miracle if they even managed to have players play as Elites again these days. Or better yet make an Arbiter campaign like Bungie did for Halo 2. The UNSC surely needs a break from the main spotlight…
