I hope they do retain the look they had in Halo 3. I liked how they looked in Halo Reach but I think they were better before! For Sanghelios!
I’d be pretty shocked if 343i made the decision to leave Elite models out of matchmaking.

He’s the spec ops commander in halo 2, but in 3 he’s the shipmaster.
Tommorow is Wednesday, and the bulletin is to be released! We must keep this forum on front page for the rest of the day, and hopefully, we may actually receive some info on the Elites in Halo 4!
Come on 343i, you must notice us!
Besides, what would Halo be without it’s Blaargs, Honks, and Worts?
Kind of surprised to see such a loyal spanghelli fanbase, ive found my home xD I agree with it all, i hate the restrictions to elites in reach i want to play them at all times normally. Part of the point of reach was going back to halo’s roots and making the elites cold hearted enemies (in campaign) so im surprised they took them away so much in MP. I do like how elites handle in reach multiplayer but ill give that up if it means equal representation. Im unreasonably annoyed by the fact this stupid website shows my spartan character on the main page when i have species preferred as elites, my character’s colors are even designed for elite not spartan. Also im new here so how do you change the dumb picture by your name? I want an elite not the generic chief pic. Anyways im ranting now, I seriously hope 343 includes elites again in halo 4, theyve always been my favorite characters and i would be very put out if they disappeared they are just as core to the idea of halo as the master chief. As a parting note, God i miss the halo 2 plasma rifle (especially dual wield).

Hope this helps, and glad to see more support for the Sangheili. Kudos, and Worts, to you my friend.
Wort wort wort!

My brothers!
Our battle still rages on, and we mustn’t forget that this thread is our direct link to 343i.
After a search over this forum, I have come up with a basic wish-list for us.
If you agree with what I am saying, please quote me, don’t thank me for that will not keep the post going.
If you want to add something, you can quote me and add the thing you want underneath the quote.
We would like the Elites to be brought back in Halo 4 with complete equality to spartans. This means that the elites should have equal stats, customisation and presence in matchmaking to spartans. This is all we ask of 343i, and it is not that much to ask. We are not complaining, simply providing an opinion on behalf of a large part of the community, and there are those of the community of sanghelli players who cannot make it onto the forums, this we know, and we are here as their representatives.
As such, I would like to give thanks to the OP, as without his input, this thread would have never grown to the size it is today.

Not neccesarily. They were only giants in reach because the spartan 3’s were smaller than a spartan 2. So because halo 4 features spartan IV’s, which are conveiniently the same size as master cheif, they wil be about the same size as the spartan.

Sweet. And I thought you could be an elite in a FFA Game in MM but I havn’t tried, does anyone know?

Go blargers!
Why the hell not? Cant let there be spartans all the time. We need some Elites in there for Mulitplayer for old times sake.

Nope, the elite would be too over powered. The elites in reach move faster, hit harder and jump higher than the Humans, so it would have been unfair to include them in FFA… i dont understande the logic however, as that would have all been countered by a much larger, easier to shoot hitbox. But, whatever.

A Shipmaster is not really a rank. Shipmaster is just what you call the “Captain” of your ship (Like Quarians in Mass Effect, or Pirates).
His rank is SpecOps Commander. He just happened to be acting as Shipmaster of Shadow if Intent in Halo 3.
A few examples, are the Shipmaster of the Corvette in Halo Reach’s mission Long Night of Solace (Not to be confused in name with the Assault Carrier LNoS you were using the Corvette to destroy).
This Shipmaster was actually a General rank. And the Shipmaster of Truth and Reconciliation was a Zealot rank.

Haha, not to be mean, but you kinda failed quoting there. you posted your response inside the quote XD

Just thought I’d point out that the Elites lose more often than win in Invasion Slayer, no matter the map. It’s just what happens. In the Reach Beta with the SvE Slayer testing, they determined Elites only win over Spartans 60% of the time, being almost even. They then buffed Spartans with slightly faster movement, and slightly higher jumping, and left Elites exactly the same. At this point, in Customs where I can actually be an Elite, I find it’s entirely balanced.
Anyway here’s a list of everything an Elite has over a Spartan:
SLIGHTLY stronger shields, capable of absorbing 1 extra DMR/NR shot, but the AR only takes about 2 extra shots to kill total.
Moves SLIGHTLY faster, only major difference is Sprint vs Evade, Evade being the much stronger of the two.
Jumps higher, being able to reach a VERY few areas a Spartan can’t without a Jetpack.
Shields begin to recharge a little bit faster.
Healthpacks are not needed to regenerate your health to full.
Advantages a Spartan has over an Elite:
Size, which DOES matter. You can fire at an Elite MUCH faster and have a MUCH smaller effect from your bloom, meaning you will always land more shots much faster on an Elite than a Spartan.
Head Size, Sniping an Elite is easier than hitting a Spartan with a Rocket Launcher.
Jump Height, this is also a disadvantage, as jumping with an Elite in-combat means you are stuck in the air and can’t strafe for longer.
Shield Recharge-time, Upon beginning to recharge shields, they will actually reach a full bar much slower than Spartans (so they start recharging sooner, but don’t reach fully recharged until later).
Cannot pick up Health Packs, and Health recharges VERY slowly, this means that while your health does naturally recharge, you can’t nab a healthpack for an instant-full health, and an instant-shield boost.
To be honest, there are many more disadvantages than alot of people give credit for. Being able to fire with a higher fire rate against an Elite nullifies the fact that it takes 1 extra shot to down one, especially since you WILL NOT miss the headshot once the shield is down, unlike Spartans where it’s easy to miss the head, especially when they turn their back.
The fact that it takes much longer to fully regenerate shields, means that if an Elite player waits for their shields to start coming back, then jumps out of cover to attack, they will have less shields, but if they wait behind cover, for full shields, they are stuck waiting a very long time in comparison.
And jumping as an Elite in-combat literally gives a Strafing Spartan an easy kill.

I’ve shared this opinion for awhile, headshots are by far easier to score on sangheili, but people seem to still think they are better then spartans in-game.
It seems alot of people reason like this:
spartans A kills spartan B = Spartan A was better then spartan B
Sangheili A kills spartan B = Sangheili A used hitbox, shields, speed, jump and better weapons to beat spartan B.
Are some spartans stuck with an inferiority complex that makes them think elites beats them all the time?
