Sangheili (Elites) In New Trilogy Matchmaking (Part 1)

As much as I would love to see elites in matchmaking if they want to have devotion to what they started as in multiplayer being canon which despite others opinions is completely possible and makes sense as well with that being said the state of Sanghelios is probably still in total anarchy putting clans against one and other so unless they fight simulations of elites its not going to be there. they barely have any ships let alone soldiers. But alas I hope we do get our hinge heads back but it wouldn’t be a fair fight seeing as the s4s are technologically superior even tho they have size on the Spartans we will see.

I’m sorry this has to come from me, and this is only to correct you, it is not attack. I’d just like to point that out beforehand. Anyway;

[/li]- In my “opinion”, multi-player canon is not flawless. How do you explain respawning/teleporters? The lack of Hard Light technology, yet the holographics in Infinity are able to be touched? Etcetera. And there are multiple ways Sangheili could have been added to it. I’m not going to list them here, as we have a few.

  • As of the end of Thursday War, the Civil War appears to have temporarily ended. There is no information on the current state of Sanghelios. And I highly doubt mass fighting, or “anarchy”, is occurring.
  • “they barely have any ships let alone soldiers”. Little information on the current state of the Sangheili navy. Though it has depleted somewhat, The Return shows that they do have a navy. In fact, a navy large enough to continue a war with the Jiralhanae. The entire population of Sanghelios is capable of fighting (I assume from Mdama’s way of teaching females to protect the keep), and the majority of the male population has seen military service. You forget that Sangheili culture is primarily military.
  • “s4s are technologically superior” Do you have any evidence to support your claims? The Sangheili may be depleted somewhat, not devolved. Human technology has improved drastically, yes, and perhaps now on-par with the former Covenant. But not superior, unless I see evidence to the contrary. Unless you are talking about MJOLNIR, which (I assume strength has changed little from Mk VI) is shown to match the strength of a Sangheili, in physical, as well as shield strength (Going from Halo 3, and depending on the rank of the Sangheili).

“Hinge-head” is quite offensive you know, shall I call you Nishum or Demon? xD

I repeat, this isn’t an attack on you. I just want to get some facts straight. We’ve come to these problems and overcome them in the past 300 pages. Thanks for your support, and I know you were possibly trying to help, but we have already overcome these “problems”.

And welcome to Waypoint!

Feel free to correct me (that goes for everyone), if you see anything wrong with my analysis.

So defensive :stuck_out_tongue:

> @Tentacletornado- you may already have noticed but there is a piece of armor sticking out of Jul’s rear. I am also wondering why is he wearing loose armor on his arms too. Oh, and I got Glasslands and Thursday War a few days ago! I’m really excited and I can’t wait to read them after I finish Cryptum. BAH!

Seeing how we reached over 300 pages, I
propose are next goal be 500 pages! Here it to Sangheili in Halo 5!

500 pages does sound like a long term goal but still nothing we can’t take on anyways. Sure, better put up a good challenge then. About another 199 pages to go then.

No no no! That was exactly what I wanted to avoid! CRAP! xD

Oh, dear. D:

After all that in Halo: CE about Sangheili and tails… It is a very weird design choice. I assumed the changes were due to a differentiation between the now-defunct Covenant and these remnants. And due to them being remnants (and not a representative of the races as a whole), they would have less advanced technology (or a lack of procedures to repair/replace it), and more prone to “barbaric” styles; like the lack of gauntlets and the weird “tail”. :frowning:

And good! They’re quite good books, though they do have a little different style to previous books. Though try to ignore the retcons of the Sangheili, they can be quite annoying. Traviss does seem to be one to change canon to fit here own views, but oh well! Canon is canon. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m still trying to get over how quickly we went through the past three pages!

Yeeeaaaah…

Don’t worry, no h8t towards you. I guess using ‘xenoracism’ is a little over the top, wouldn’t you agree?

And, I’ll find out and I’ll express my opinion ( being as factual as possible) to you

I tried to set my post out in a friendly way, not a defensive or aggressive way (but failed, miserably)… :frowning: My post wasn’t meant to “flame” or anything of the sort. Just to clear a few things up, 'tis all.

Though I guess you’re right. I can’t stand “xenoracism”. I just don’t understand how a person could hate another species/race (even if they are fictional). But I don’t (think I) make a big deal of it. :stuck_out_tongue:

Please do! I’d like hear other’s opinions! But don’t think you have to be “factual”, I don’t mind.

Bah, I’ve been thinking about new ways Sangheili could be introduced into MP canon, but it seems I’ve hit a wall… Anyone have any new ideas?

It’s ok.

If anyone were struggling in a 25-year war, yes, there would’ve been some adequate xenoracism to both during (e.g. captures, though this is a rarity) and after the war. Most would suffer from a diagnosis of PTSD or any other disorder. This can be a tragic, yet subtle story about marines, ODSTs as well as the Covenant themselves ( thinking of a schizophrenic elite now makes me shudder) and how they struggle with everyday life. But I wouldn’t think that anyone would ever want to watch or listen to a documentary esque rather than a story

For the Elites in Infinity? Same here. Was the name of that cruiser the Fleet of Particular Justice in Halo 3? I can imagine that and Infinity battling the Remnant or the Didact’s promethean cruisers(?), or Flood cruiser hosts.

the Multiplayer story doesn’t ahve to take place on infinity int he next games?
just a thought

> the Multiplayer story doesn’t ahve to take place on infinity int he next games?

No it shouldn’t because it limits the imagination that you are not from a familiar world and lacks the mystery in MP IMO. In Bungie’s Halo games, there wasn’t any story in the maps: the community brought the maps and the battlefield to life. Then the elites came, and it generated another branch of its own, then both mixed in together and became the golden age IMO again (I didn’t play too much Halo 3 online). It would be cool if we can build our own forge worlds, then build our own maps but that’s too much science flying over my head.

I’d be amazed if 343i did not notice this forum by now, nor take any notes about this.

> I’d be amazed if 343i did not notice this forum by now, nor take any notes about this.

I feel the same way too  but I think that they have plans of their own shudders

Hopefully 343 will see the error they have made before 500 pages becomes necessary.

While I’m sure they have no positive confirmation that they can include Elites in Halo 5, they should at least tell us that they will try their best to include them. Because the message they are sending me right now is “Elites are over with, we will add Promethean Knights next because that is so super-canon”. They think more armor=diversity when it doesn’t. Elites added diversity and for all they say about trying to keep the game “fresh”, taking away Elites took away a lot of that. Thats why Reach got boring so fast is because it was always Spartans.

I never got to play the other halos online though I’ve been a fan since day one. Bought my first xbox because of ce. That said me and my freinds allways played system link and only one of them ever played as an elite and he was my favorite target. It might not be right but it really was one of my favorite things about being able to have elites was they were just much more fun to shoot and I missed that right off about halo 4 was that there were no sagnieli to shoot I was sad I loves to pop a “hinge head” and now they are gone from MM I’m dissapointed

Funny yet interesting motivator to play Halo. I myself doesn’t play online. Elites IMO were just fun to fight in general and assassinating them made it even more fun (both as spartan and elite). We feel your pain though. And welcome to Waypoint!

That’s what they should have done in the first place. Simply saying “we’ll try to include them” in the process of creating Halo 4 would have most definitely given me piece of mind. But they didn’t. And we’re waiting for the addition of something which should never have been removed. Elites brought a new area to multi-player FPS gaming, I hadn’t seen a game which allowed you to play as the “bad alien guys” before, and it was one of the reasons I played Halo. It brought a dimension that is now lost. The “quantity > quality” that seems to be occurring with armour customisation is wrong.

In Reach, I always played Forge and Custom-games, and would be infuriated if someone forgot to allow Elites into the game-type. It was the only thing I enjoyed. Matchmaking was different somehow, it lacked a certain enjoyability that Forge and Custom-games had, and, to be completely honest, it was the lack of having my Elite. To others this seems strange; “There’s no difference!”, but there is. And I’m sure any other Sangheili-player will vouch for me in this respect. And it seems 343 lacks this view, or at least is not aware of its existence.

Personally, I’m coming to the conclusion that 343 simply didn’t know about the effect this might cause. They probably thought “Oh, well, they’ll get over it once we show them Dominion and our bucket-loads of armours!”. I hope our voices are finally heard (or more aptly; replied to) someday.

[/rant] Wow. I’ve not done one of these in a while.

Haha! Umm… Thanks? Its nice to see our deaths make you have such fun! xD

And welcome to Waypoint!

Anyone noticed that we are getting much more replies lately? It’s great! More than great!

I would still be utterly disappointed if they replaced the elites being playable with prometheans. It just seems wrong to play as a group of freaks those things are while elites are something we been accustomed to since the days of Halo 2.

> The slap to Lasky was quiet necessary but still, I wouldn’t count on Halsey betraying the humans so easily, knowing how well her logic is. I bet she has another plan she has kept secret so far…

I really think we’ll find out that Halsey is special to the librarian just as masterchief is she is after all the human equivalint to her and the inventor “or re-inventor” of all the things that kept the covenant from completely killing us off. And osmans problem with her is that she washed out as a Spartan and was cast aside like a broken tool
