I am grateful for these cries of acceptance. Our voices will be heard.
I’m interested to see what they will look like. Even if they aren’t in MM.
While I certainly hope to see the return of elites (especially for a new Invasion experience!) I trust they will do what is best for the game. If they had to shoehorn elites in somehow and it just plain didn’t make sense, then I can survive without the ability to play as an honorable Sangheili, but I do hope to see the split-jawed soldiers making a return once more.
I wonder what the elites will look like, now that it is so far in the future and all. I don’t think we will be seeing any more of the combat harness, seeing as it is apparently the outdated version. Maybe some variation of the assault harness?

They mention the Flight Harness in Halo: Glasslands, so I assume that will make a return.

I wouldn’t be a fan of that for Matchmaking. That is too ceremonial. Too much meaning behind it to be thrown into the MM mix. As well as the fact that it would look downright strange in a Blue or Red variant.

That would be pretty interesting, maybe it will come with the game of you pre order or something, I know I’d by it. Which brings me to my disappointment at how little attention the elites have been given when it comes to customizing your multiplayer character. The Sangheili command structure is very diverse. And while those who prefer spartans can choose from a plethora of customization options, Elites have only had but a few.
Yes bring back the Sangheili for MP!!! I wonder their updated look will be…Come on new armor.

In Halo 3 multiplayer, Elites were evenly match with spartans. Let’s assume that the canon dictates at this point in time in the halo universe, humans have matched the covenant in technology. As far as powered amour goes.
This is further proven, since in chronologically prior Halo’s the Mjolnir suits were weaker. The proof being the health bar in the HUD, instead of a perpetually regenerating shield.
In Halo reach, Elites did not require health packs as spartans did, proving again that elites were stronger.
So it makes sense, that for multiplayer purposes, that elites vs. spartans only works in certain scenarios (eg. invasion).
In Halo 4, are we to assume that Spartans (at least spartans or spartan 4s) are now more advanced than the Elites/ Brutes etc. ?
This the mean we’ll only get Spartan vs Spartan multiplayer experiences.
Probably not. However, unless 343 provide a canonical explanation, I doubt there will be.
If there’s a differential between the technologies of the species, like in Halo Reach, then I would think that there would be a segregation in the game modes, to include cross species vs. modes.
Unless in Halo 4, like Halo 3, species in question are technologically matched.
In my opinion I’d like to see a bit of both. Maybe I’m asking for too much, but the Halo universe is vast. There’s alot, specifically, technologically to explore.
It’s the end of the war, and there’s a technological stagnation for the Sanghelli. They’ve been reliant on the San 'Shyuum (or at least forerunner engineers) on advancements in technology.
The covenant is broken, most species are now independant, allie to human, or even forming a new covenant (‘pursuit of the true great journey’ [a covenant not lead by the San 'Shyuum]).
I would be interesting to see how all the other species do technologically, while they’re independant of the San 'Shyuum.
More interestingly, if they can match the Spartan 4s, so we can see them in multiplayer.
I’m still waiting to play as a Jiralhanae (brute) and use my rage on someone unsuspecting. BRUTALITY!

The elites are tougher, but the Mjolnir mark V armor was mention to be stronger than some of the covenants tech in Halo: the Flood. Your post made me remember that the elites technology will now advance only very slowly or go backwards because of their dependance on the prophets, while that of the humans are likely to advance rapidly. They have probably had ample time to reverse engineer more covenant tech, and one of the humans’ major strengths in the halo universe is hat they are innovative, rather than imitative. It is very likely that technologically the humans will have closed the gap or even surpassed the Sangheili by this time, which means it could still follow canon to have them be equal to the Spartans in halo 4 multiplayer.
Elites, must be in H4. It’s not halo w/o the blargs and worts.
I don’t think we’ll ever get to play as Brutes. And honestly I’d rather not haha.

Without the return of the Sangheili, halo will never be the same. I wouldnt be able to pick up an energy sword in halo 4 (fi there were any) if the sanghieli made no return. I promise you this, even though i am against the sangheili in halo reach (Simply because all except for the zeaolt field marshall and minor in reach look nothing like elites), if there are no elites in halo 4, my last game will hold me playing as an elite. The elite community though smalll must be heard! Without the reurn of the arbiter, or the introduction to a new one, halo would simply not be halo. I hope, for the sake of the Sanghieli community, that our voices carry across the wind; that a seed, no matter how small, begins to grow in the minds of the masters of halo. May the sangheili rise once more, and may the be better than ever. The sanghieli are halo, they are the reason the humans know halo as halo. They are the reason the spartans were ever invented. Without the sanghieli in Halo 4, the cannonical sence of spartan IV’s would be meaningless. So i ask 343, put the sanghieli in the game, for the sake of the Sanghieli community.
Ever since halo 2 I remember choosing the elite and setting up my colors to look like a general. And anyone who’s read ghosts of Onyx, the sparten 3’s armor was actualy smaller and had a stealth ability due to the fact that they took a wider range genes and didn’t give them as many injections as the 2’s. Elites should definetly be included without elites, what could EQUAL a sparten. Elites have been the front of the covenent force up until Halo 3 and even then they were still a big part of the campain.
