Sangheili (Elites) In New Trilogy Matchmaking (Part 1)

From Halo Waypoint’s bulletin:

Jul ‘Mdama comes onto the stage here. Again, he’s a character the hardcore fiction fans know, but is completely new to gamers. But he’s also another one of those seeds we plant in the game that doesn’t sprout until much later. It’s almost impossible to spot the first time, though (intentionally, by the way), since you’re sort of really paying attention to everything else going on in the world, but when Didact wakes up and declares “so fades the great harvest of my betrayal,” you see the Elites all falling to one knee – including Jul ‘Mdama, who shouts “Didact!”

AND

The flip side of that is Gek, Jul’s Lieutenant who comes back in a big way starting in episode 6. I had an entire subplot for Gek that we cut because, while fun, it just didn’t fit in the shape of the episodes. But I knew every beat of his story before I knew Halsey was going to be so important to us. Who knows, maybe he’ll show up in another story someday and you’ll finally learn how he lost that eye and why he hates Spartans so very, very much.

Awww yeeesss, the two characters will be developed.

Great news. 343i have their tricks up their sleeves.

Just like what the Didact describe’s them: beasts. I can imagine the Didact turning the elites and composing some into prometheans, possibly being somewhat larger than the original prometheans. Since the human forms are nearly twice the size of a normal human, imagine how large a promethean elite would be. It would be a tank, easily capable of delivering heavy damage and put up a hard fight. I think of it somewhat like the demon boss from Doom (but not that big). I can imagine them as being somewhat mini bosses just like with Halo 3’s scarab(s).

I don’t really think that would be a good idea because you don’t absorb the body when you compose someone you absorb the mind. So a Sangheili promethean would be no bigger than a human promethean.

In fact, what stops the Didact making the current Prometheans larger? I’m still trying to get my head around the effects of the Composer. If the Prometheans you see in Halo 4 are the essences of Ancient Humans, then why follow the Didact? Are there secondary effects, such as indoctrination? Why not simply use ordinary AI creation techniques to create them instead? Bah.

That was on a bulletin?

New tricks, man I hope it isn’t something that make us foam at the mouth in rage.

The only thing I am seeing are a bunch of stuff for Episode 6 of Spartan Ops. Looks pretty cool to check out for once and all.

Well over half of humanity wants Sangheilios to burn
The elites are killing each other
And humanity has a genocidal crop

Ain’t looking too good for Arby and his blargy buddies

I think it’s still possible. 343 seem to have looked at human history and are determined to make sure the story arc feels natural. Their choice of making multiplayer canon put self imposed restrictions on them now, as they want to make it clear that there is still hostilities after the long war (just like in real world cases), but it offers the potential for ally Sangheili to be used in multiplayer. Last we heard about their own culture, they were divided. Hopefully the human friendly Sangheili such as the Arbiter will appear in future games (or even later Seasons of Spartan Ops) and make their way into the War Games simulations.

Nope. not at all. Ign tested and it was good

Oh ya, I’m not sure about whether you guys have read this Sangheili fan fiction story

Woohoo

Its pretty darn good, unlike other fan fiction with countless of canon errors, really really cheesy and mushy moments, His story is action packed, filled with emotions, upbeat; fast pace. The only thing you will regret reading is having the pain of waiting for his next chapters in great anticipation.

Its written in Sangheili’s POV, kinda like arby’s story. So its a pure elite thing.

If I’m not wrong, he took a span of 3 years to write it, and is STILL writing. What’s amazing is that his “short” story is about 100k + words long. His command of English is excellent and guess what:

The author is just roughly 17 years old now.

Kudos to this guy seriously, go and support him.

Try it out!

Hope I dont get bash here, I found this floating around and decide to bring it to this massive Sangheili fanbase here…too bad he didnt post his stories here.

Heh, I haven’t seen that guys story in such a long while. Still surprised he actually still continues with that story. Still, he writes it all down like that of a professional for someone his age.

So wolverfrog is still kicking huh? Very happy he is still updating that fan fic of his; maybe one day he’ll finish?

Was he in Glasslands? I never read it.

Jul 'Mdama was in Forerunner? That makes me want to go play it to see that.

well at least 343 has shown us that they also cna make the Elite sSympathetic

anyway I think we should do soemething to make the Elites Playable in Multiplayer

> > Or better yet,add elites and a playable version for prometheons.
>
> Scale down the Didact model, boom playable Promethean.
>
> Its sad were fighting to re-add something we already had. by this time in Halo’s history this thread should have been “Brutes in new trilogy matchmaking” or Promethean s.

Elties are very Iconic in the franchise and somehting we’ve come to Identify as the playable species in Halo’s MP

but instead of replacing the Elites why not include them and Playable prometheans.

3 playable races would make Halo 5 the most unique in gameplaya nd expand the community, it can also give the machinimaters mroe Ideas.

and it can help in others to.

yes we already have elites but we don’t have them as pkayable in Halo 4.
thats why we want the elites to return in halo to keep that varity.

never mind this it was a double post.

More writing errors on 343’s part? I am shocked!

At some point large Prometheans would become cumbersome, not to mention that they might be expensive to build. As for the whole “why don’t they just make AIs to do it”, I think it’s because the Didact wanted to not only come up with a fighting force, but that he was kind of really insane and wanted to punish humanity.

Besides, living beings (such as the Prometheans are “living”) are superior in fighting skill to just plain AIs.

I just hope the flood never comes back… brrr *shivers. They are not annoying, they are just so damn annoying.

If I am not wrong, elites are the most memorable/iconic characters in video game villians as rated in machinima(sp?)
343i better make them good, I really love them. I dont care if they come into multiplayer or not, as long there are playable and be the main bulk of the story.
I am happy.

Nearly at 300 pages on this topic…I wonder what would happen if we managed to get it to 343 pages…

Got to keep going strong in this topic if we want the elites back for sure.
