Sangheili (Elites) In New Trilogy Matchmaking (Part 1)

notices polls here By the rings what is going on here!? Are we being invaded by a troll here or what!?

Seems most likely, but this is rather absurd… Anyways, I do hope the Moderators can clean up this mess with this lame poll that is up…

I PM’d a monitor about this. Hopefully help is on the way. Anyway, does anybody have a clue about why elites have split mouths?

> I PM’d a monitor about this. Hopefully help is on the way. Anyway, does anybody have a clue about why elites have split mouths?

Not anatomy wise. Very little is said about the other species and their evolutionary routes/roots. Though it is no doubt to help with their carnivorous, predatory nature.

Though from a game PoV it would be to make them seem more alien. Which I guess they succeeded in!

I can’t tell if I like them because its a part of the Sangheili identity, or because it does actually look cool. Does anyone think they are quite cool? (Perhaps a stupid question, but nevertheless)

Oh they’re cool, yes, that’s how we signify elites in the game but my guess is that their mouthes move just like ours and stretched out when they roar or supposedly have a grip when biting, say, marine for example. Has anyone looked at them in 4 that they have molars at the back? I figure that I offer some time discussing about them, nothing Steve Irwin or anything.

Yep, that sounds good.

The Sangheili mandibles, or so I have heard, (Yes I may go a little Steve Irwin!) would be for gripping (And later tearing) onto prey. Note the backwards tilt of the front canines. Though the molars seem to be one of those stupid additions that make little sense to me. How would a Sangheili chew? Though I haven’t really thought much about it… Nor have I really looked down a Sangheili throat… xD

I imagine, they are supposed to move, separately, as they talk in Sangheili. With much more movement. But compress two mandibles together to speak Human languages. Oh, but have you seen the roar in Prologue? Its really bad.

Oh, dear… Now this is a strange topic! xD

Happy Chrismahanukwanzakah!

EDIT: Notice how no one has voted on the poll? Ha.

Um…wow. That was totally strange.

Fix’d.

Thanks, Ka Five!

How did that even happen. Some mod hate Elites with a passion or something?

What matters is that it’s gone. Anything else that we guys/gals can discuss about?

Hm. Maybe ways to add Elites into future games?

I was thinking it might be cool as a future War Games alternative, where Elites are in the simulation helping Spartans train. Only for certain game modes, though.

I’m not sure how that would fit into the story, considering ONI’s dealings…but it would be interesting nonetheless.

> Hm. Maybe ways to add Elites into future games?

Ive got a few ideas for that.

Option 1: This Guy

Halopedia states he becomes a liason to the UNSC, perhaps he could lead a contingent of Thel’s Sangheli aboard Infinity to cross train with the new Spartan IV’s.

After all prior to the Travissty novels Sangheli were considered brilliant strategists and the new generation of Spartans could benefit from the experience.

Option 2: Jul 'Mdama’s Remnant.

Since Jul "Mdama’s remnant forces are starting to take center stage. Why not have the Infinity use hologram avatars over top of the Spartan IV’s as they train? the Infinity can obviously replicate damn near anything.

A cheap way to allow us to play as Elite’s without physically having them aboard Infinity.

What would be funny/ cool is if there was short cutscene where you see a team of Spartans suddenly simulate into the elites. That can be one solution, however, proportionally speaking, they would need something to stand on probably like what Chell from Portal wore.

I like that first idea a lot.

UNSC could do with some of that classic Sangheili strategy.

option 1 works unless thye plan on having the MP take place elsewhere.

Huh, I always did wonder what happened to that guy at the end of Halo 3…still, having a cross training session with Spartans and Elites would be pretty cool.

Btw: Merry Christmas ^+^

Merry christmas to you to.

but I still think they might change the story to include Elites as playable.

As for how the Elite player model would behave, i’m back with 2 more options.

Option 1: Halo 2-3 model.

Basically the model is equal to Spartans in every single way, however instead of being “hunched over” like Halos 2-3 they’re tall and proud like Reach models but scaled down to Spartan size. This should eliminate any neck glitches.

Like Halo 2-3 Elites they would be playable all the time, however certain playlists should be marked as “competitive” and disallow them (MLG, SWAT etc.)

Option 2: Reach’s model.

The Elite model in this option is tall and physically larger compared to Spartan models, and as such has benefits to compensate for its larger hitbox. The key difference from Reach is more then one playlist you would be allowed to play them in.

Like what I said above playlists should be marked as “competitive” or “social” in “competitive” playlists (MLG, SWAT, Ranked TS, Ranked Objective etc) they could be disallowed, “Social” playlists (unranked Infinity Slayer, Objective, Grifball, Flood) should allow us to play as Elite models. Who cares about balance in social anyway.

Ohh yeaa, Merry Christmas everybody ^.^

This is what I had hoped for. Usze would certainly be the one to lead it. If the Arbiter’s proposed visit to Infinity after the rebellion was accepted, the chances of this occurring would be greatly increased.

Would love to see N’tho again as well.

Happy Chrismahanukwanzakah to you guys!
