Sangheili (Elites) In New Trilogy Matchmaking (Part 1)

Personally I still preferred the elites when they were as big as the Spartans during Halo 2 and all that. Don’t know why they suddenly had to stretch themselves out a bit later on.

Oh! Well that makes sense, I guess I didn’t think too clearly on your post. Sorry…

Campaign. For Reach they wanted the Covenant species to look as intimidating as they would have done in Halo: CE. For that fear, alien aspect. I guess they wanted a consistency through multi-player and campaign.

Yeah well, look how that turned out. Separate the species from one another and make one species more powerful than the other, Oh and Spartans rather complaining about how OP elites were.

Indeed they would complaing, so I think Elite sshould be not hunched over or tall like in reach but somewhere between.

I didn’t have any problems killing Elites in any of Bungie’s games, why because I know how to aim!

I don’t think you need to adjust your aim at all. Just keep the crosshair at spartan headlevel and you’ll get them both.

Indeed. It was one of those strange excuses that is thrown around in competitive gameplay; “Their hitboxes/speed/height are different!”, “Banshees/scorpions/wraiths are so OPed!”. It became somewhat of a cliché. I simply ignored it.

I do prefer Halo 3/2’s equality though. Being different from other players had, it seems, more disadvantages than advantages.

I would have preferred to have our hunched over appearance (Or perhaps a mixture of the appearance in Reach and Halo 3), it affected gameplay little. We would also be badly proportioned if we were the same height as SPARTANs, and properly stood up. I would like to have my Halo 2 appearance, no one complained (That I know of), and I was of the right proportions.

At least the Halo 2 Elite designs made the elite’s stand up more straighter and without having to go above the Spartans own height. Least Bungie had the right idea back then.

> At least the Halo 2 Elite designs made the elite’s stand up more straighter and without having to go above the Spartans own height. Least Bungie had the right idea back then.

Indeed. They did.

It seems that “Bungie had the right idea” is coming up more and more as of late. This is really unfortunate, I always wished 343 would continue Bungie’s legacy (though Reach was somewhat of a step in the wrong direction. May be a case of Rose-tinted glasses), not go against it. “You were the chosen one!” comes to mind.

okay go with one. and 343 if your reading this this guy has an Idea of how to help the Elties if hitboxes and height were the Issue.

I have a name you know…

But also, it’s not that I am against 343, dont get me wrong, I still support them and such when it comes to Halo. I just wish some decisions they made were kind of double checked to see what would work and how the community would think.

Though I don’t particularly sound it, I’m the same.

It just happens that almost all the decisions that have been made for Halo 4 have affected me in an adverse manner.

Going back to our Halo 2 Sangheili would definitely negate the Hitbox/height problem. Though it may mean that more time and effort would need to be put into it to create a new model, rather than just re-using the model from campaign.

well we will see what goes on.

I know it gets so old! I mean what will they take away next to appease these people, Scorpions,Banshees,Ghosts, bullets, energy swords? I mean how soon before it ceases to be Halo and becomes just another generic fps!

The Energy sword has already been nerfed almost beyond recognition (I miss my sprees with the energy sword, and the fact that you had to use a certain amount of tactics and skill to use it, in Halo 2 and 3). The wraith has also been nerfed, from the mobile artillery that, if in the right hands, could be more than a match for the scorpion. Now, it stands no match against a scorpion, or Mantis for that matter. The Ghost is now little more than a Covenant Mongoose. It can be taken down with more than a half-clip from a DMR. That is not an exaggeration, not in my experience anyway.

The Plasma Rifle is gone, the Revenant is gone, the Plasma Launcher is gone, the Needle Rifle is gone (And before anyone says it has been replaced with the carbine, there are DMRs and BRs, which were supposed to have replaced each other), the Plasma Repeater is gone, the Focus Rifle is gone, the Falcon is gone.

Does anyone else see a pattern here? It seems as though only the Banshee and Needler are still the death machines they were in previous games.

What happened to the truly original, alien weaponry we used to have? What happened to the truly original, alien sounds they used to make? What happened to the superior technology, and therefore power? Why are they comparatively weaker to UNSC armaments? Forgive if I’m a little confused with some of the decisions made.

[/rant]. There goes another one. :stuck_out_tongue:

im sure if someone asks why some of the weapons are missing and why some of the flying UNSC weapons are gone.

Are you guys seeing this?

“Are elites bad?”

Please tell me this is a glitch only seen on my account. If not, is there a way of taking it down?

I thought I had escaped this kind of juvenile behaviour. I appears not.

Ok, who is the troll that decided to put up a Poll on this thread? Because this is just downright awful and childish behavior…

What in the utter yoink is this childish behaviour.

The waypoint forums and this thread in particular is a place to discuss things intelligently and not HURRR HERE’S MY BIASED POLL EAT IT NOOBS OLOLOL.

I have (I think) sent a message to the OP. Though whether or not it has gone through, is another thing entirely. If any moderators and/or administrators can be alerted, it would be greatly appreciated.
